DOLLAR - HAND HELD IN BLACK AND WHITE i had to put the actual song on top the song needs a 1080p vevo version all copyright goes to the actual owners not me blah blah blah
Wildzippy: You're right. Perfect pop song. Well constructed and produced by one of the best producers in the country. And sung by a gorgeous creature. Tereza Bazar, that is. David was alright too. Trevor Horn filled in for Jon Anderson of Yes for a tour in 1981, because of the strength of Buggles. Jon was taking a sabatical. Trevor said it was the scariest thing he had done, singing live and not appreciated by sections of Yes fans
Dollar surpassed anything in the 80's and indeed now in the 200's. They were simply way ahead of their time, had class, and a duo that was the envy of the world.
Excuse me are you called David van day because that is what he thought of himself when in reality they were ok at best thats why he joined bucks fizz and ripped off mike Nolan
Sonic masterpiece from Trevor Horn and Dollar- there would have been no eighties as we know it without the pioneering, ground breaking work conducted by Mr Horn.
At this point DVD was ridiculously beautiful, I can still remember as a teen being gutted because I didn't know any lads that even slightly resembled him. Those cheek bones, that hair, the smile AND he can sing. These days, well, I guess time and gravity have done their thing.
Yes DVD was my first ever man crush! My love of the more blonde haired men began! It damn as a couple they were both so fabulous looking! Most teenage dreams!
Trever Horn was a bloody genius..he not only put these two puppets into stardom..he basically controlled the whole of the charts in the early 80,s with his groundbreaking technology.. And we are forever in his debt!
You lost your audience the moment you called David and Therese “puppets”. They were first in Guys and Dolls and had Top 20 hits before the magnificent Trevor Horn produced them. It’s called HARD WORK and DETERMINATION !
*This tune takes me right back to a time when my priorities were: The Beano, Whizzer and Chips, swimming on Saturday mornings, my bike and having fish fingers for tea*
Wow! That could have been me ten years before (loved "Wear-Em-Out Wilf" and "Lord Snooty"). I was a university student by the time this song appeared; for me, the charts were a rebound from all the hard academic work.
Videotheque is a masterpiece even now still sound futuristic and is clearly no 1 I'd say it's a dead heat for 2nd between this song and Mirror Mirror 4th i go for Give me back my heart and 5th Shooting Star 6th O L'Amour
Please don’t think of the negative it’s a waste of precious time and energy enjoy your life and let go of what is unimportant, our time on earth is short.🙏😌
Love these two. Theresa of course being so in love with David, and David being in love with himself. Theresa's dollar was touring the UK last month with Stephen Fox. I heard her say on a radio interview that David doesn't speak to her anymore. How sad. I'd have thought David, loving the limelight as he does would have jumped at the chance of taking to the stage and touring again with her. I hope that happens at some point, would love to see these two back together again.
For me it was Pixie boots, a shop called Next - the giant of the High Street was born and Telephone cards, almost as trendy as a mobile phone was to become, but a heck of a lot cheaper. Dangermouse and Hi-De-Hi a sort of Carry On Up the Yellowcoats were a favourite too.
I love Hi De Hi. Got bored of it in the late eighties as it became uncool to like it ( it was be er cool) but years later it is really well written. The characters are so well drawn by to he writers and the pathos and humour is really well done.
I know it has been said many times but Trevor horn (playing bass here) is a total and utter musical genius! He deserves a knighthood. A UK national treasure.
I just found out this only reached number 19 in the UK charts. How can there have been 18 better songs that week when there probably haven't been 18 better songs ever?

Playing this in curiosity because I was just 5 mins ago listening to Teresa Bazaar in conversation with Jackie Brambles on greatest hits Fm and she was talking of this song and I don't really remember it. Just vaguely
The Lady Thereza Bazar Who Had The Blond Hair Who Was The Singer In Dollar What Did Sing Hand Held In Black And White In Dollar xxx To Lovely Thereza Bazar
I prefer their earlier material such as "Shooting Star", "Who Were You With In The Moonlight" and "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" produced by Christopher Neil who is something of a musical genius himself.
Even now, nearly 40 years later, watching Theresa Bazar my heart aches like a love sick teenager! I loved her so much...
He wasnt to be sniffed at either back then ! Lovely looking people
I know she was adorable. It's awful thinking its 41 years ago! I was 16 and just escaped from school setting out in the world
I know what you mean, she was soooo lovely 😍. Remember this Top of the Pops performance.
She’s a babe still
and always will be ❤️❤️❤️
She's almost 70 years old now in 2022 which is a bit of a shock but we all get old, if we're lucky. David is now a politician..lol
The bass rift on this is too die for. Trevor horn the man
Production from 38 years ago .... but still sounds better than 95% of music now. Trevor Horn and Dollar were a match made in heaven. Amazing.
100% better than the Shit that's out now
Top production that sounds better than a lot of stuff done today. But there is good music being produced, out there in the wings
For many artists that worked with Trevor it would be their zenith, down hill qualitywise afterwards

Ok, boomer.
Thank you Theresa for the persistence convincing Trevor to become a producer and making this song so energising what became the sound of the 80s. 💯😍💥
Thereza is a fragile mist of golden light, subtly perfumed with Saint Laurent Opium. Dave's hosed down in Drakkar Noir.
Dollar surpassed anything in the 80's and indeed now in the 200's. They were simply way ahead of their time, had class, and a duo that was the envy of the world.

Dollor were made up of a ass hat and mostly covers of other people songs like song's from the Beatles and erasure to name two
These two complimented each other perfectly , both stunning
Trevor Horn is a genius! Amazing producer.
True genius and don't forget performer as well, the all time
classic Video Killed The Radio Star
Photoshopped ??
that's him playing bass behind them in the video
Sonic masterpiece from Trevor Horn and Dollar- there would have been no eighties as we know it without the pioneering, ground breaking work conducted by Mr Horn.

its a shame that david turned out to be such a knob it spoils dollar as a whole. thereze is still amazing even afre 30 years . go girl
They havent released anything for years . They had hit after hit so THEY BOTH did something right
Yep...total bellend

chandler bing bong Same here...
@chandler bing bong. You have really let yourself down................don't forget The Dandy ;-)
I loved Whizzer and Chips! Though not as much as I loved Theresa Bazar!
Good Memories
The 80s was the most diverse decade for music and the best decade..it's the most popular decade of all time..fact..oh and i loved these 2 😄
This song almost sounds better today, 42 years on. Hats off to you Mr Horn 🎩 Thereza, Thereza ☺️
Look how much Thereza loves David and in return how much David loves David
The 80s ❤loved Dollar such a lovely relaxed couple together, pity time changes things a people grown & move in different directions
This song would be sensation today. Back then the 80's, a minor ruffle
So true..
Dollar made some great pop music and the genius of Trevor Horn!
This tune expressed the innocence of the early 80s. Gone 4 ever. What a damn shame!
Summer 1981. Good times
What a wonderful Progressive sound
I had such a major crush on Thereza Bazar when i was younger. How old was i at the time? 5 years old!
This was on BBC4 last night - Pretty good backing band, with Howard Goodall & Trevor Horn on keys & bass respectively....
and Graham Broad on drums!!!
An average song rendered magical by Trevor Horn's production skills.
But thats part of the song? Derr!
Still love this in 2019
The 80s where so special hit after hit and still played today
Simply quality makes you smile❤️
The 80s was the best.😊 No worries about jobs and money. Just school and home work.
Absolutely right. No worries. I was 16 in 1982. Whole world ahead of me. What a life. Loved the 80's ❤
If the event of ascending up to heaven ever had a soundtrack...
Love it
100, u got it
You've just brought a little tear to my eyes man, thank you
Oh good times Wish we could go back to that time again the 80s
Beautiful sound. Nothing comes close nowadays.
Great song,good production.Should have been Top 10!.
Was still one of the top selling singles that year…because it was in the charts such a long time, as many of their singles were.
The best song by Dollar by far
pigyob :- Video Tech is equally as good, but this is a great tune/song
Mirror Mirror !
Videotheque is a masterpiece even now still sound futuristic and is clearly no 1

wow not heard this is years such a great track produced by my hero Trevor Horn, nice job of the video
This reminds me of being 11 not quite old enough but old enough to be self aware just beginning to be me that has continued till now age 52.
Funny how in the day I hated this/them cos they were just not as cool as Duran et al but in nostalgia it is picture perfect pop.
grey1squirrel I loved Duran Duran back then still do but not ashamed to say I loved dollar
Loved this in the day and still love it now, don't be ashamed of what you like, you miss out on good music if you try to be 'trendy', amazing song.
porkulator Well said!!
They looked fake. Something to do with the fact that they basically hated each other.
@@scottbirch968 so did abba aparently

Great production.
In 1981 british music was ahead of its time while american music was still in the 70's untill MTV appeared.
This is MY favourite song by Dollar, the one I remember most. Is that Howard Goodall on keys?
Yep, Graham Broad on drums too (top session player with them, Bucks Fizz, Tina Turner & Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings)
And drummer for Roger Waters!
Had that as a single in 1978 . Loved dollar .
I had never heard this song before, I don't think it reached Australia. Catchy sweet song
