If you want take great long exposure photos you need to torn off Optical Image Stabilization. Also if you can press shutter remotely, you must do it. I Have Sony Alpha A7 III and I can connect my Sony Xperia 1 III to my camera remotely and press shutter on smartphone. Good luck all photographers! Good luck Anthony Gugliotto!👍 Thank you for this video!

      Use a tripod
      Capture photos in dark
And in light you must use ND filter

Hi, how do you know how long to expose when doing night photography please? The camera light meter alone? Thanks

This may sound a bit weird...but trust me on this. Get a bicycle inner tube ( ideally one that you would normally throw out due to having had a puncture ). Cut the valve off and bin it. Cut yourself a length of the tube ( about 3 or 4 inches long ). Anytime you have a filter that's 'stuck', just place the section of inner tube over the front of the filter, so you can get a much better grip....it normally works, keep the piece of tube in your camera bag.

jam your tripod into the ground is good advice,. I had the wind blow over my camera and tripod. but also, wash the tripod legs off at the end of the day.

Anyone can do long exposure but only one in a million can do masterpieces because they know what they want to say deeply and are able to express it

I’ve had my filters stick together before. I had to buy filter wrenches which kinda look like very thin oil filter wrenches. Worked great and have been handy to have since.

on 30 second or longer exposures, do you have a technique to deal with "dead pixels" (stuck pixels)?
I seem to get quite few red and some green ones...

Sir, if i may ask you regarding switching off Inbody stabilization. You have turned off only the image stabilization in the lens but you havent turned IBIS in the camera body. Would you suggest to turn that off as well.

I kinda got scamded when i bougt my Canon 7D and he said it comes with 4 memory cards for 50 bucks and i bougt it and when they come they were one 32mb and rest 8gb.
and i sent back them and got my money back. Should i get a ND filter or buy something else?

Best fix for a stuck lens filter is to use the bottom of a soft pair of flip flops and apply downward pressure while turning. Make sure the flip flop covers the entire filter and the softer the better grip you’ll get. Good Luck !! It’s saved me a few times……lol.

Anthony noobie tip if you have old phone carging wires you can wrap it around your filters and unwind it while holding the back or front one in your hand, kind of pinch the wires, it's like using a jar or oil filter grip

a Short Tip for ur stocked Filters:
use a small Rubberband between Stacked Filter, so they cannot get stock too much and u can remove them easier :)

for lens filters stuck together, i was out in the field one time and had nothing but superglue on hand. one drop on each finger tip, and very carefully grab just the edge of the filter, taking sure NOT to squeeze at all. finally letting the glue grip the filter to hopefully unscrew them from each other. worked like a charm. getting the superglue off my hands and the filter... still gives me ptsd...😭

An elastic band works well if you open it up around the ND filter and use that to help grip while turning the filters.

I recently started using BULB mode. It works great during firework displays as well. That is primarily what I use it for. With a tripod and a plug-in remote. Cheap and convenient
