He has some very interesting musical ideas other than purely playing the piece, also noteworthy that he’s playing with a pretty fast speed. So maybe compared to other 8 year old his playing isn’t the cleanest( of course that would all change in a few year esp when he won the competition) but this is what makes him stand out from the rest of the very advanced 8 year old player ) bravo:)

I’d say he has hit 98% of the notes correctly playing a piece that would challenge the best of violinist. I would love to see him play this now. Apart from hitting every single note perfectly he’d play a lot faster. One thing dose show in this and all of Christian‘s videos he has masses of confidence and is not phased by the complexity of the piece. The other thing I love about Christian is that he acknowledges the other player or players at the end of his performances.

This boy, so reminds me of the great talent shown by a similar aged Maxim Vengerov, when Maxim was introduced to many of my fellow musicians, by Emanuel Hurwitz, in London. This must have been around 1985. This young boy has such talent and will hopefully, go to great heights. Well done.
