2:05 Only Trapstep. Hybrid Trap is a subgenre of Trap. Trapstep fuses the rhythms and percussion of Trap with the heavy, distorted bass of Dubstep, unlike Hybrid Trap, which mixes elements of Trap with other genres such as Dubstep, Future Bass, Hardstyle, etc...
i mean sure? but most people i know still consider hybrid trap a dubstep genre, or at least related TO dubstep. Hybrid trap as a genre is still very much dubstep influenced.. also, if you're including that festival edm trap stuff from like 2015, that's not hybrid trap lol trapstep as a term is also one that you don't see very often at this point. I've only ever met one other person that really still calls anything trapstep. Not to say it's wrong obv, just not a term I see very often lol
@@Potatert0tTrapstep is a term and sub-genre that appeared much earlier than Hybrid Trap (2012 for Trapstep and 2013 for Hybrid Trap). But many people confuse these two terms and genres, which are close because of their origins (Trap + Dubstep). Hybrid Trap is originally a mixture of elements of Trap (for the most part), with the bass and growls of Brostep from which it is derived, but over time, artists have mixed Trap with genres other than Dubstep such as Riddim, Halftime, Hardstyle, etc.... It gained in popularity and still does, thanks to artists like NGHTMR (I think that's how you spell it). Trapstep, on the other hand, is the true fusion of Dubstep and Trap, but quickly lost popularity after the Brostep craze. Although one of the best known (I think) is RIOT - Enigma, which has had 5 million views on Trap City.
Cool examples, but i differentiate the genres of Colour Bass & Melodic Riddim. Some people say they are synonimous, some other that colour bass is only a technique. Here is my opinion and what the difference i see: Colour Bass: 1. Uses very colourful and original sound design; 2. Separate melodic and bass elements; 3. Free of the riddim ideology (but not completely). Melodic Riddim, as the blend between Colour Bass and Riddim: 1. Uses yoi basses that are processed to be melodic, but not always colourful; 2. Basses and leads are layered to one cohesive sound; 3. As i said, it's a subgenre of Riddim. There also many Future Riddim influences. Colour Bass examples: Similar Outskirts - Shockwave, Vanatice & KERO - Ecosystem, Chime & Snails - Arcane Ooze. Melodic Riddim examples: Ace Aura - Kaleidoscope, Chime - Soda World, Chime ft. Miss Lina - Unicorn Blood. This isn't official, but i think so.
