Once you have watched a few 20 min. video's and have a good grasp of things, this video works well as a condensed summary. It covers everything without going into too much detail.
Thank you for your comment 😊
you create a fall with the pegs, but then when you compact it afterwards, surely you'll very likely lose the correct fall ?
do you leave the wooden pegs in?
When pointing, you put dry mix between the slabs, then said leave to dry? Was there a step missing to wet the pointing mix after filling the gaps?
The moisture from the ground is enough to set it off in most cases overnight
Hi, whats the average cost to diy?
Does the sub base cover over the wooden stakes/pegs when using the wacker plate?
Hi there, you fill with sub-base to the top of the wooden stakes. The wacker plate is used to compact the sub-base. I hope this helps!
@@bandq I think they want to know if you remove the wooden pegs before wacking
Hi there. The wooden pegs used at the start of the video are purely for providing a guide on where to fill the sub base level to. These can be left in place and do not need to be removed.
In terms of the wooden spacers, these should be left in place when you are laying each slab as they ensure the gap is the same distance apart between each of the slabs. However once the patio has been laid, you would remove these spacers before wetting the joints. Hope this helps!
Hello B&Q, thank you for this video just one Question! Where can I find that exact SUB-BASE that’s used in this video as I have checked online and the don’t see the same!
Please reply as I will purchase immediately for this project during this quarantine.. Thank you
What is the ratio of cement and sand mixed, may I ask?
Hi Dan 😊 The ratio is 5 parts sand to 1 part cement! We hope this helps 🙌
I’m confused at why we’re creating a slight drop with the wooden pegs every 1.5m by 25mm? Is this for drainage or something
@@bandq but why slope the sub base, pointless, you could still lay your slabs level rendering the sloping sub-base redundant. And why no membrane?
Hello👋🙋♂️ there...

No-Ones Home mix it by hand
5 parts sand to one part cement is that correct?
Hi, yes. That's correct, then add your water and mix 1:31 😊
How much did it cost to do this job?
