Yes, the longer I use this printer (and I do so because it works really well), the more I like the filament changes. On other printers I do some additional extrusion after filament change anyways... The only downside I saw so far here: on my 0.4mm nozzle, I had PETG and wanted to change to PLA - and this nozzle clogged so bad, I couldnt get it free. I would be really interested to see the progress of the remote printing which I've seen you have already made a video on. The only question I had was do you still need level the bed before each print and is the gcode functioning in orca?
It's still my fav printer (among 4 others) and hopefully they will officially support the wifi printing soon. that's the only downside compared to creality printers (where the open klipper works flawless), but on the other hand, most times if I print something I would need to go there anyways to insert the right filament etc. bed levelling isn't neccesary often. if you want to do it before print, you can just "upload" instead of "upload and print" - then you have the gcode over there and when manually starting the print you can check the levelling box. Or you add the Gcode for bedlevelling in the orca settings of the printer (I think I did this for another printer). Oh: one other downside I found so far: if using PETG on a nozzle, swapping filament to PLA or TPU back can be a problem (clogging). They actually suggest, you stick with PETG on this nozzle, and use a different one for other material type. This is easy since their hot swap nozzle is really great, but also ~ 35€ (you get 2 nozzles with the printer).
Definitly! I already wanted to make another video about just this! I see with Geekbuying and the Coupon code you can get this for 469€ - which is really a good price. The only real downside of this printer is the 220x220x220 buildvolume. Bambu's slightly larger 256x256 would be better (but they also want way more money) If you buy it, cosider using my link - will help ;) - but trust me, that's not the reason why I recommend it! Literally: I have 6 printers currently (Ender 3s1pro, Ender 3v3ke, K1, Artillery x3plus and x4plus and the Flashforge 5mpro - if I want top print quality or reliable part - it's always printed on the flash!

@@ughitsvictor Ah, I see you bought the 5M (non pro) - which is totally fine. It just lacks the camera and full enclosure. But unless you print Nylon, ABS or PC you don't actually need the enclosure. And you can also print it yourself ;)
I bought two of these printers and they work flawlessly. My bed adhesion issues were mainly due to temperature. PLA requires 60c temp on the bed and 220-226c for the extruder. No more issues. Use the checkbox on the printer to Bed Level during the print. Yes it slows the process but your printer will know what the bumpy PEI coating looks like after removing and reinstalling a spring steel bed that has a randomly sprayed bed coating.
good to hear you like them to! yesterday I had the nozzle clogged. changed from PETG back to PLA (on 0.4mm) - does this work for you, our do you follow their recomendation of keeping one nozzle per different material? I swapped out the 0.4 to 0.6 and got PLA in there again. Also looking forward to their new firmware, where we can finally use Orca Wifi printing instead of USB Stick (or their flash print). greets, Mario
@@JamesRothschild that's unfortunate... Maybe they can just send you the display unit if you send them a pic of the damage? You've got a famous name there... we have a nice castle nearby with your name on it (it's owned by the government tho). (search "Schloss Rothschild Hirschwang an der Rax")
Really good. The only issues are: if swapping from PETG back to TPU (on the same nozzle) this can result in a bad clogged nozzle. Flash recommends to stick wit one filament type per nozzle (they are easy to swap but not cheap).
I heard a lot of good things about the prusa printers as well - so for you it might not be a big upgrade :) the flash5m will be niceer when they fully support the WIFI printing (curerntly it only works with a special DEV build of orca). also a bit annoying: I cannot turn on my printer remote (by using a wifi socket) because if you give it some power - it will not boot up but instead go into standby - and then it needs a button press...
I didnt test the K1c yet. Maybe Creality will send me one ;) Flashforge is my fav until now - although it's not perfect on the software side (no decent wifi print...) you cant go really wrong with either of those printers. Flash: here the quick nozzle swap is nice!

@@Rcschim Thank you! My Flashforge will be here Friday, this convinced me. If Amazon didn't have a $299 deal for it I would definitely have used your link, also a little faster shipping here in the states. Thanks again!
@@ughitsvictor Ah, I see you bought the 5M (non pro) - which is totally fine. It just lacks the camera and full enclosure. But unless you print Nylon, ABS or PC you don't actually need the enclosure. And you can also print it yourself ;)
Thanks 🎉
Greets to Canada!
definitely better than K1 and equal to bambulab
Nice review
very interesting video great information thank you
Did you not remove the Z transport screws?! 😮😢
hehe, on one of these printers I really forgot to remove them at first ;) printer noted it quickly and stopped :)
@@Rcschim Thanks for your reply 🙂
I just tried to set up my 5M ... and the ribbon connector on. the display is jammed/broken/unuseable 😞Back it goes!
@@JamesRothschild that's unfortunate... Maybe they can just send you the display unit if you send them a pic of the damage?
You've got a famous name there... we have a nice castle nearby with your name on it (it's owned by the government tho). (search "Schloss Rothschild Hirschwang an der Rax")
@@Rcschim Thanks. I've sent it back to Amazon now.
Keep up with your Videos... it's about the long-game :-)
An enclosure for the 5m would take like couple of hours to make one
Yup, I already make the enclosure for my 5m. Save money
Hows the TPU capabilities?
Really good. The only issues are: if swapping from PETG back to TPU (on the same nozzle) this can result in a bad clogged nozzle. Flash recommends to stick wit one filament type per nozzle (they are easy to swap but not cheap).
@@Rcschim awesome! I print only tpu.. thank you for the information
Just starting to watch, Mario, but Bruce's going to have a heart attack seeing you remove all the plastic film. 😬
Is it really that good guys? I’m seeing this printer on my feed everyday now.. I print Prusa but always looking for other capable machines out there
I heard a lot of good things about the prusa printers as well - so for you it might not be a big upgrade :)
the flash5m will be niceer when they fully support the WIFI printing (curerntly it only works with a special DEV build of orca). also a bit annoying: I cannot turn on my printer remote (by using a wifi socket) because if you give it some power - it will not boot up but instead go into standby - and then it needs a button press...
its amazing
K1C or FlashForge M5Pro?
I didnt test the K1c yet. Maybe Creality will send me one ;) Flashforge is my fav until now - although it's not perfect on the software side (no decent wifi print...)
you cant go really wrong with either of those printers.
Flash: here the quick nozzle swap is nice!
dont buy k1 ~!!
why?@@prytosan
why?@@prytosan
Maybe the price is better on flash? With coupons it’s under 500€! Use my afilliate please ;)
New Orca software with functioning wifi connection has been released.
thanks - I will check. my dev 2.0.0 version didnt work when I tried now - but it worked a week ago...
For 5m and 5m pro?
@@uliz17should work for both
@@Rcschim the new orca slicer right?
2.0, i have 1.9.1 right now
@@uliz17 I didnt try the 1.9.1 yet - just check if 1.9.1 has "Flashforge" as an option in the WIFI settings of the printer (in orca). if so / it should be good. but maybe it|s only avail in 2.0.0...
this printer costs 1200USD in israel/palestine
oops I see it actually is now 1300USD
@@flat-eartherIsrael!!!
why ? can you buy it from other country ?
@@youtubesque good question.
because government tyranny.
even if order from other country the government people may steal your package as hostage until you pay them extortion fees AKA taxes
I'm thinking of buying it for 3800 NIS.
The taxes here are a total ripoff.@@flat-earther
how about printing a circle?? Are they not egg-shaped?
No problems with circles not being perfectly round
Is it easy to root the M5 so I can run klipper and fluidd on it?
Not yet. It's running Klipper on it, but the webgui is hidden. But at least we can use Orca to print over wifi. And the flash is so reliable, I don't wanna break it ;)
@@Rcschim Fair enough! Thanks for the reply.
