Going by subscriber count, this is a very underrated channel. What is your spiritual upbringing? How did you get to your current level of wisdom enlightenment? Thanks.

Hi Noah! Thanks for your comment and interest! My spiritual path started in childhood due to a lot of trauma and stress. (Existential crises at any age can initiate a spiritual journey). In early adulthood, I decided to put all my energy into understanding and healing the pain in my being. After 8 years of inner work, I started sharing/teaching what I'd learned from my lived experiences and healing explorations. It became my life's calling to help people understand how to create beauty and meaning...how to become a genuine vessel of love. Blessings on your journey and if you want to email me directly, please visit my website littlewoo.org

Very good! You used what we call, desensitization. You used logic to replace your illogical beliefs and replace them with logical beliefs. This is classic Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)/Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Trying to suppress all emotions is illogical and stressful. The reasonable level, pleasurable emotions are what make living worthwhile. But it is possible to use logic and practice to control excessive, negative emotions by disputing the beliefs, judgments causing them. On the other hand, some negative-uncomfortable emotions/feelings help us change for the better. But trying to suppress strong, negative emotions is like trying to hold down the lid on a boiling pot of water - bound to fail and burn you. You can turn off the flame by disputing the illogical beliefs that cause them. Outside of physical assault (which include very loud noises, blinding lights, etc.), the vast majority of emotions are caused by what we believe about, how we judge what happens (-ed). Take a football game. Millions see the exact same game. Yet about half go home happy, about half go home sad, and the rest go home somewhere in-between or at the extremes. Therefore, it cannot be the game that caused this wide spectrum of emotions. It was each person's beliefs about the game, that the game had something to do with their self-worth. The minute they call one team, "my team", say "we" won (or lost), they have tied the results to their self-worth. Of course, there are some who only judge the game as a game - who don't care who wins. That is logical, but they are a small minority. I would suggest the fans give up the reasonable level pleasure most receive - as I said, pleasure is desirable - as long as they don't cause themselves excessive negative emotions when "their" team loses (spouse abuse, fights and property destruction go up for the "losing" side fans.) But I would have those whom loses trigger excessive negative emotions and their subsequent self-defeating and trouble causing emotions dispute and replace the illogical beliefs causing them. Something like, "I am very disappointed that "our" team lost, but it is no catastrophe, doesn't affect my job, family, home, nothing important." I have started a series on the illogical beliefs in Star Trek, starting with "The illogical Vulcan Philosophy"
ua-cam.com/video/mLpA6a6ULmI/v-deo.html. My intention is to help people who do have excessive negative emotions. My one caution/opinion is that while viewing people as "magical" is in fact correct, demanding that people be gods, perfect, always do the right thing is a cause of distrubance. Consider my version of the Serenity prayer, “May I be motivated to change the important things that I can change; may I have the patience to let go what I cannot change or is unimportant, even when it is “horribly” irritating, and may I have the wisdom to see the difference. This way we can enjoy life more - as well as get a reasonable amount of the things that we really want, accomplished.”

Thank you for sharing your viewpoint! I wish you well on your intention to help people with their difficult emotions and blessings on your video series! I agree that suppressing emotions is not healthy and that learning to process, digest and integrate them contributes to our evolution and well-being. I also agree that emotions are meant to be felt so that we can learn and grow. e.g. ua-cam.com/video/CNDW1xZdrdg/v-deo.html In my coaching work, I help people explore their deeper beliefs and elevate their worldview in order develop their true selves, their talents and their capacity for happiness. In this Star Trek tribute video, I was sharing how my visceral appreciation for the sacred role of insects was a major factor in my own transformation of a former "threat" belief. And interestingly, it was through sensitization to awe and compassion (more elevated emotions) rather than through desensitization or mere logic...

I am actually able to turn off my emotions. In my case it doesn't feel like pushing them down, just stopping them. I wish I could teach others to do this. I often see emotions as a storm going on around me, or a traffic jam on the freeway. I simply observe them and continue on my path.
