Hi Naomi! Just letting you know that I learned a lot with all your videos. 💕
Question: I did this snack sample numerous time and other things for my son. However, he gets frustrated everytime we do this exercise. He screams if I don't give it to him right away. Do you have any ideas how he can cooperate with me? I love to see videos (and probably other parents too) of how to let toddlers engange to speech exercises or activities without having tantrums or frustrations. Hope you can add it to your content 🙏 Thank you!

Thanks so much for your comment! I'm so glad you're liking the videos :)
When we start with therapy, kids can often become frustrated - this is perfectly normal. It can be challenging for anyone to start with something new, and especially when one day a point or gesture gets you what you want and all of a sudden your little one has to work for it! The best way to manage this situation is to introduce the activity, model the target word every time you present your child with the snack, and then trial only 2 or 3 times with the longer waiting. The next time you do the activity, trial the waiting/withholding 4-5 times, and go on from there. Remember to only do this activity for a few minutes, and if your little one is very frustrated, discontinue the withholding and just model for them. Stick to it - it takes time for children to learn. You got this!
You might want to take a look at the video I just posted a few days ago called Speech Therapy Secret - it's all about child-led learning (it's my favourite therapy tip!). Keep me posted!
