    Worried about a 1/16” bend in the dragster frame for safety reasons... let’s put the 50hp engine and put it on a top heavy lawn mower hahaha

    • @overyonderjustapiece
      @overyonderjustapiece 6 років тому +21

      its not top heavy, unless Ike is on it!! LOL.. Besides, it would be a LOT more fun as a wheelie machine instead of a racing lawn mower.
      Now if they could slap a deck on it and mow the yard at 20-30 mph and get a good cut pattern, THAT would be an episode that would make history.

      I. Know right that dragster needs that Ducati street bike engine and the lawnmower needs to be beefed up they have a Chinese four wheeler with suspension I would cut the front end off of and weld it to the lawnmower and I would widen the rear with a solid axle from a four wheeler maybe even make a tube frame but keep all the lawn mower carcass idk I’m disappointed 😔

      Jerry Wooton thats what I said make the mower actually handle with that quad stuff and make the rail actually fast with the duke lump

    I was a frame mechanic for years. Brace opposite frame with angle iron. use porta power or ratchet straps for pressure. over straiten for spring back. now cross brace and gusset as needed. Wish I would be around in the future when you guys enter the circuit. peace

    Wow 504k subs now. I remember when you were under 100k... who knew small engine projects were getting so popular? I think we're seeing the revival of the minibike and gokart scene!

    I built a single cylinder Kohler command back in the late 90s with a custom flat top JE piston, custom crane cam, Chevrolet solid lifters, modified Chevy roller rockers, extensive port work, dual springs and titanium valves with a 36mm mikuni. Ran it through a peerless 5 speed tranny on a custom framed Murray lawnmower. 0-50 in 4.13 seconds with 110 octane. Never new the horsepower on it tho, but it hauled ass.

    *CarsandCameras* Video Idea: * Get an old jet ski or waverunner motor/pump assembly on the cheap and do what my buddy did: Get an old aluminum fishing boat, modify the back by cutting it and using wood and sheet metal to create the ductwork and mounts-fairly easy, I am sure there are many how to videos on the UA-cam by now. He also put a handlebars in the front running cables for steering, and a stereo with subs that doubled as a seat mount up front. He was offered 4 grand for it, twice! Overall It costed him less than $400 to make it. And as a bonus, if you have the waverunner body still you can put a motorcycle inside for a hybrid vehicle like that viral video....
    Thanks for all the great content, this project has my interest.

    Nice build guys. Can't wait to see it move and hear it go "VROOOM"!! I think I would have added front frame length to make it kind of a funny mower, or a Rat Rod. Also, more space for whatever you have to do to connect it to whatever you choose for a rear end. But I'm sure it'll be fine... lol!!

    Heat the rail frame up with a torch. You would need to do it on the “concave” side of the bend. Once you get the frame rails red hot (support it so it doesn’t sag) quickly cool it down with compressed air till it is cool to the touch, it will make the bow draw out of it. You may have to repeat a few times to get it straight, but it will work, we do it at work with big bore pipe all the time (56” and larger). Obviously afterwards you will have to sand and repaint it.

    Just a heads up, with any kind of plasma torch you should be running a water separator in line from the air compressor.. and make sure you have at least 5 feet of hose prior to and after it just to make sure that it is cooled down and dry. You can pick one up at any hardware place or harbor freight.

      Briggs & Stratton Power - That transaxle would never hold up to the HP and torque the 670 produces. They need an old Harley 4 speed transmission and drive it with the 670 to a live axle. Then use a dry clutch so no lube is needed.
      That would make it really interesting. Seriously the need to think about stiffing the mower frame or maybe just replace it with custom tube frame designed to look like the mower.
