  • Let's face it, the typical automotive enthusiast is male, and if they are primarily interested in Old School American Muscle … well they are usually getting up there in age. On THIS project we are bringing you not only one mean looking mopar but a lady owned and driven one! Who says this is just an old boys thing? Who doesn't love a Lady Racer!?
    When you see this car coming down the road, immediately you struck but the aggressive nose, massive hood scoop, and "California Rake" of a stance... not to mention the chrome tipped side pipes! The healthy rumble of an angry big block rumbling into your ears... it's enough to turn heads BEFORE you look in the drivers window!
    As we begin this build up before the start of the 2019 car show and race season begins we wanted to show it off and introduce you to the owner Katrina Bell also known on Instagram as 73ChargerChic. What a blend of car and owner, THIS should be a fun package to see develop over the coming episodes!
    Originally a 318 small block car sometime in its life it has been through the transition to the current 400 Mopar big block sitting between its fenders. While still cranking out some respectable torque the 400 was never known as being a performance motor for enthusiasts... however... It CAN make an excellent base to build from. So, here we go brought to you by Lucore Automotive in Columbus Ohio welcome to another build!

      @LucoreAuto  4 роки тому

      The 400s definitely suffered from the era they were born in, with the smog regulations, fuel changes, and the changing economics of what Americans wanted to buy at the time. BUT, they have a lot of potential for sure!

    Don’t know if the question was asked yet but why not a 440 if using 440 heads?

    • @LucoreAuto
      @LucoreAuto  3 роки тому +1

      That's a good question and something that oddly really hasn't been asked much. The answer is kind of 2 parts. 1) The car has a 400 in it now so we liked the idea of staying with that. It's also a physically smaller motor so easier to work on than the 440. Also the benefits of running a "cut down 440" rotating assembly in a 400 are pretty interesting, good bump in displacement with a lighter rotating assembly that should rev really well. 2) Everyone does 440 builds, and everyone has seen 440 builds. A 400-451 build is MUCH more unique

    • @jamalclark7379

    I'm happy for her! And as far as getting into the game there are plenty of guys like myself for instance who dont have any clue but want to learn about these machines. She knows way more than me I'm sure!!

      By far the best way to learn is just to get in there and start working on it yourself. Once you get your hands dirty and start to understand it's all just nuts and bolts and mechanical things it all starts to click into place. If you haven't watched the whole series of her and her car you have some more watching to do for SURE! Thanks for coming by, hope you enjoy sharing the journey with us!
