Hi, I'm Louise! I started this channel in 2009 after readers of my blog (also called Sprinkle of Glitter) suggested I give UA-cam a try. I was instantly hooked and have found my internet playground on here. I make videos about beauty & fashion, positive living, motherhood, lifestyle and occasionally have special guests (friends, kittens or my sweet Daughters Darcy, 7 and Pearl, 12 months). @@laurasparkles8090 i meant soft drinks or drinks in general but diet coke does contain aspartame which is worse than sugar. AND it has absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever.

I'd keep the natural wood on the table and doors for now just to keep a little warmth and to ground everything--otherwise everything might start looking a little space-age contemporary and cold. I also think the "everything in gray" trend might look really dated in 5 years. Always trust your natural instincts Louise. I like things to be "cozy farmhouse" too.
Darcy cracks me up! I love how she understands why she isn’t in the magazine. No jealousy. You’ve all done such a wonderful job raising her. She’s a joy. ❤️

Please don't paint the unit that the telly is on, it looks lovely as it is and I don't think it is the sort of furniture that would look good sanded and painted. Although I have to agree with you on loving shabby chic, I love that look as well :)

If you buy your lavender pots for your garden there are some garden centres that have special bee friendly plants including lavender that attract bees because you’ll probably be aware the bee population is falling. At my local garden centre those plants have little bee stickers.
I love watching these in the garden thanks for creating and never stop. 💜

Ooooh you could plant some climbing roses/honeysuckle/hyacinth/wisteria/clematis up the garden walls and maybe some peonies or hydrangea along the side. Could do tomatoes and climbing cucumbers too!
Lots of those are poisonous for cats, just to make sure you're aware. I think climbing roses are OK.

Louise, this is why I love you. You're so real. Sometimes things are a mess and they just stay that way for a minute. They'll get done soon, but every now and then you just have to power down for for a few hours. You can't be your best self 100% of the time. It's not realistic.
I’m a minimalist and I totally agree that it reduces stress! I walk into a cluttered room and I breakdown 😂
Louise- I really admire your constant consciousness in making sure Darcy gets just as much love and attention as Pearl. The “but who made me a mum” line-genius. It’s such an important responsibility as a parent and you clearly keep it close to your heart and therefore navigate with skill and grace. Lots of love and admiration ♥️♥️

Every Sunday when you post it is night time here so I relax every Sunday night and watch your weekly vlog. One of the questions someone asked you was how does God or your faith alter your daily life. I just wanted to say that the way it alters my daily life is that having that faith in God gives me such incredible strength to get through hard days. Having my faith in God increases my gratitude in life because I feel his blessings daily. Because of my faith I start and end my day with prayer which gives me a lot of peace in my life. When I have hard decisions to make I try and think of what God may have me do in an effort to make the right decision. I rely on God for everything and I really feel like I am a much happier, calmer, less anxious person and that is how I feel my faith affects my daily life! Love you and love the video. Your children are beyond beautiful and make me smile just like there incredible mommy! Thank you for all you do! You truly bring joy to others!

Okay, I would totally paint the doors a light grey! And then leave the tv unit the way it is & I think a little pink would look nice! Also, maybe you could get some cute baskets for the bottom of the tv unit to organize all that stuff... & to hide it! Haha that’s what I do, just hide all my crap lol 🤣
When I have diet coke before 8am I think why is it acceptable for someone to have a tea with 3 sugars but not acceptable to have a sugar free drink? Probably just trying to make myself feel better about it 🤷🏼♀️😂

I had the same trouble with candles - headaches etc. Now I only buy soy candles with natural ingredients and essential oils - which has made a huge difference 😊.
Noooo dont sand down the furniture!! Wooden furniture and doors are so lovely and make it feel so homely!

I think your house would look lovely if you painted the brown wooden doors white/light grey. Also the banisters on the stairs would look lovely painted white. Similar to your old house - that house was beautiful and so you x
When you’re updating your garden would you consider adding more plants etc that are good for wildlife? Like flowers for butterflies and bees, or consider retaining more of the hedge for birds etc? Just a thought! 🐝
Yes! We are actually planning an insect hotel and a marble bath for bumble bees and lots of pots of flowers they'll like! Also, bird feeders from all the trees. We want a little wildlife paradise! xxx

I can just imagine when doing that walking shot, you having to set up the camera, get the pram and cat thing ready and walk across. If anyone was watching it'd probably look quite funny. Sending love 💕😊
You can grey wash the console using watered down chalk paint and patch test the look on the inside of the drawer or the back of your console risk-free. Also, you can patch test a grey wash on the inside of a closet or utility room door. I seal it w/a white or clear wax to keep the wood vibe but get rid of the orangy-yellow, too dark stain. I've been doing over my 1970's wood beams, trim and built-in vanities in my home this way since summer, and I love it. Restoration Hardware minus the price tag.

You mentioned about wanting to redecorate your kitchen, I have the dulux paint app on my phone which allows you to choose a colour and hold the camera up facing the wall and you can see what the colour looks like and also take photos to compare (Just an idea!). I’m going through the same thing with changing paint and furniture in my house and my style is 100% farmhouse country chic! I absolutely love the feeling you get after painting some furniture to give it new life! Go for it Louise! YOLO as the kids say 😂😂❤️

In one of your other videos you talked about 3pm tiredness. When I was younger my mum did a 'big project' like a big art scene of the jungle and around 3pm when I was bored she just pulled out the project which was kept in a box altogether, and we did like half an hour of colouring in. It just filled time before dinner. Thought it might be useful x

I loved your comment on death and dealing with grief. I lost my mum last year to cancer - just seven months after I had my own baby daughter. And to "live your life twice as happy, twice as cheerful" is a beautiful thought! Thank you so much for that thought!

Funny how the English call it garden, we Americans call it a yard. Whatever we call it, looking forward to seeing your after shots. I just painted my kitchen a pale pink - was not too sure how I would like it, ended up loving it. Very shabby chic.

@@rayofsunshine1219 a garden in the US is usually a small piece of the yard where you have plants or maybe grow vegetables. Here most yards do not have gardens. but even if they do, they are a yard with a garden.
I loved this video. Watched more recent ones too and have watched for a long time. Please don’t try to change for viewers. I love you just the way you are. I have a 5 year old and one year old and love being able to identify with parts of your life.
Ever since starting university, your weekly videos have been such a wonderful part of my routine. It gives me guilt-free me time on the weekends before rushing back into studying and stressing. I didn't realize how much I wanted to comment until I couldn't anymore. Usually, I just scroll through the comments and like the ones I resonated with. So glad the comments are back!

In answer to the question about faith + God impacting everyday life: for me, I start every day by reading a bit of the Bible and praying that God will make me into a more loving, just and generous person through what I learn about him and his character! Faith also impacts my work as I view it as a way to serve and encourage other people and use gifts God has given me. And faith really influences my relationships - seeing other people as made in God's beautiful image, whether they are my close family or strangers or colleagues - definitely helps me to love better. I’m all for painting things! I love making pieces I have work for the style I love. If you don’t love the color of something- paint it! Don’t let the fact that it’s wood make you feel bad about it. Paint can always be stripped off!
