Nothing better than fresh raw milk! I have a sweet little jersey milk cow and she is such a blessing. We enjoy her sweet creamy milk, butter, ghee, etc, and the hogs enjoy any excess. Makes for some good healthy pork!
Love this video! Oh how I need a store like this!! Amen on the books! I’m so tired of the filth everywhere you turn. I also really enjoyed the scenery. Thank you for sharing! God bless y’all❤️

I LOVED this video, Miss Lori! This is the type of video I enjoy most! When you guys are able to take us along with you. It was SO great to see the places where you folks grew up and raised your children, and worked. And the store was wonderful! They had so many great items! (I would have spent a ton of money there, if I'd actually been there, for real!) This was just AWESOME! I truly loved it! God bless!

Hi Lori, Oh my goodness!! You used to run that store...how interesting! Thank you so much for taking us down memory land with you!! What a lovely area you live in - and how blessed to be have been raised there! The Upshaw (?) farm was interesting to see. Also nice to see where your grandfather had the tire changing shop. Loved the Mennonite shop. Such great things - and those cookbooks were adorable!! And so many nice things to see along the way (and way home?) - your church - - and that adorable plaque with the pledge! Interesting about the springs - I have been to Hot Springs and found it all so interesting! Wonder if the springs are healing??? Thank you SO much for all your shared. Just delightful going down memory land with you both! Love, Mary

Whippoorwill Holler - Oh my goodness!! Yes, I understand completely!! My husband’s cousins ran a small grocery store most of their lives and the just sold it...and they are in their 70s and SO happy to be retired from it. They said it was a 24/7 job!! They were lucky to sell it with all the big box type stores coming to the area!! Love, Mary❤️😘❤️

Thank you for sharing. My late father was from northern Arkansas and extended family still lives in an area likely not too far from you and where we took many road trips to visit years ago. Your accent and way of speaking reminds me fondly of my late grandmother and my aunts and cousins. Lovely, soft, and sweet. Thank you again from the heart of the San Joaquin Valley in California where tens of thousands of acres of almonds are grown and are currently blooming in celestial creamy white this time of year.

Now that's what I call a "grocery haul." That sweet Mennonite store sure brought back some fond memories of a littlel country store we used to walk to when I was young. They had the BEST fresh sliced Bologna around & they always wrapped it in white butcher paper & tied it with twine. Everything inside that lil store was antique. How I miss those days.Thank you for sharing your trip to the Mennonite store with us. I really enjoyed it. God bless you & Mr Brown. ❤️

That country in Northeast Arkansas is beautiful! Our girls used to go to summer camp in the Ozarks near Hot Springs when they were young and we would go pick them up when it was over. We used to love that trip. We now live in the Hill country north of Austin and we love the wide open spaces to. Nothing like it. We remember the raw gentle beauty of the Ozarks . They were so amazing to venture through. Thanks for taking us on this fun trip through the beautiful countryside that you call home. Lots of love from Texas!❤️

@@WhippoorwillHoller How lucky they built two homes for you because I know of their craftmanship! They are how I wished I could live. They have quite a few flea markets. They have lots of people that go and depend on their homemade foods. They are very hard workers but I really think you will see God's country, if you ever visited Lancaster. Just as if it were a painting! Go in the Summer. There is also a tour where they take you inside and show you how they live, make handmade quilts ( quilts for sale) they have a huge fabric, hobby shop, many stands on sides of roads, lots of horses still pulling them in the buggy! Dressed 100% Amish. No electricity, they build their own home, schools, work their land hard. The grass is so green, the land, landscapes are so unreal! It is heaven. The names of the towns are cute! "BIRD IN HAND", "BLUE BALL", "PARADISE" AND "INTERCOURSE" TO NAME A FEW TOWNS. I KNOW YOU ALREADY KNOW THE CODE OF MANNER with them like no photos. They are very humble Godly folks. Valley Forge is another place I went to if not weekly, a few times a week. They still have the cabins George Washington's soldiers slept in. So tiny. There is a beautiful big hill of grass people lay out on blankets and picnic or read a book, run, walk and the is an old bridge then next to it are walking trails with a beautiful stream below you. Do not be surprised to see Lab dogs swimming in there! Lol

Very nice video, interesting and calming. I grew up in Memphis, we went to Arkansas every now and then. I remember how pretty it was in the fall. I also had a Mennonite store to go to the past few years, very nice people. Cookbooks are fun to read, although I usually cook the same things everyone likes. It’s especially interesting to read really old cookbooks. Thanks for taking us along on your day trip.

We have nothing like the Mennonite store around here in CT. Was so jealous of that gallon of unsulphured molasses. I buy raw milk from a farm up the road, and my eggs, too. Even the CDC admits the children with the least allergies are that way from drinking raw milk. Then they tell you not to drink it. But, my elder daughter was rushed to the hospital twice for severe allergic reactions, so I make sure my grandkids drink raw milk. Really enjoyed seeing the spring and listening to y'all talk about it.

LOVE seein’ my stomping grounds!! Drank outta the spring, swam in the devil’s bath tub, climbed the bluffs, and played in the old “school house” in the cave many times in my life!! So many things up here in these hills that only us locals can even begin to understand and appreciate! Btw you drove right by a certain person’s house on your way up highway 90! 😉

I love your tour of the Mennonite store. I was to one when I visited Pennsylvania. I wish I had one by me now. Thank you so much. I needed that molasses and a bag of flour. 😆

Oh miss Lori, I just loved this! I'd love to take my dad up there. I've been searching for raw milk for him for a couple of years. He hasn't had it since we stopped raising cows on the homestead. He'd love to see that old settlement too. I love that little store, especially the cook books! Rada is my favorite brand of knives. We grow pink eye purple hull peas, they grow great here. Thank you for taking us with you ❤

We’re blessed to have 3 Amish stores for beautiful vegetables, herbs, homemade soaps, rubs for sore muscles, homeopathic items, gourds, rocking chairs, bluebird houses, and baby animals. It’s beautiful and a look to days gone by.
