Terraria is a much older and more prominent example of the keep inventory between saves thing. Not only does your main inventory transfer between saves, so do the 3 inventories that are player specific (like Minecraft ender chest) which are the piggy bank, safe, and void bag.
Mild spoilers, regarding shovel spots and region movement below. Use your "shovel" on more types of "decorations" Stone X marks the spot Stone circles Single red flower Stone clad graves with oars as headstones. There might be more, but those are confirmed by other creators. When shifting region, look for "breaks" in the black region barriers to shift region without damage.
I've been playing this on my own and just threw the beginning of this vod on out of curiosity of what you had been building. We used the same island and have our helm built in the same spot on a platform out from that ledge. I have a house though and It's across the waterfall on the other ledge with a wip bridge going between the two. I use the upper area by the tree as a sort of shrine for all those little rock heads you get. I feel like a lot of people probably use that island. It's a reasonable size with water, a decent flat area and some verticality for aesthetics. I don't know if they are randomly spawned but for me it was right behind the starting island so I was able to get going really quickly after a only hitting a few islands. edit: mistyped beginning.

Interestingly, on loading up the game for the thumbnail I got a loading screen tip talking about all those other hidden spots I hadn't discovered yet 😂
@Flipsie Yes, that's another thing other creators have mentioned already, too, the infrequently dropped hints on the sleep and loading screens. Some of the hints like 3rd person didn't drop for one creator before 20+ hours into it, so they're already accustomed to the 1st person view. To be frank, yours is one of, if not the, most competent let's play I've seen so far of the game. No matter how much you feel like you are just wandering about the different islands, it's a solid run you're on. I hope I didn't spoil too much of the exploration, but I at least warned about possible spoilers.
@Flipsie According to another creator, the devs have confirmed that the blueprints are unlocked in sequence rather than random on each island. So if something is missing, then the solution is to visit more islands.
It is not worth wasting a lot of resources on things like food troughs for the animals, storage boxes, lamps (there is a small one that is a bowl hanging from a chain that is not bad)... I feed them and then collect the wool and the grass baskets are a much better deal. The stuff I am waiting for is a shovel to collect clay and a saw mill to make planks... and a few other things... and eventually bones and stones with holes in them.
WRT the inoculant problem in the first area (& stream), perhaps plant a Great Chestnut seed, then explore around other local islands while it grows? Would harvesting different tree types (eg the acacia where you found the gum) give you a chance of getting their seeds to plant on your own island(s)? If you put more bird nests on your own island(s), when you go to other islands that have different bird varieties, will they migrate to yours? Perhaps different tree types will encourage them? You've built the telescope, but never placed or used it :( Have you ever played Dwarf Fortress or Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead? They seem just up your alley, with the engineering designs you can accomplish (eg look at the DF Wiki for a CPU made from minecarts!)
my Filipino ex would buy burgers from a street vendor growing up and her dad caught here and told her they were worm burgers. I never kissed her again..
Dogs have a herd family mentalety that is why they listen to humans, you are part of the pack and if you do it right the leader of the pack. Cats don't they chose the closnes to humans becaus that is where the food is and therfore that is where the rodent's are. Plus if there are not enough rodents then you still get food. A dog would normaly not eat his dead owner, while a cat would. It's the same reason why we domesticated Horses but not Zebras. Cats just don't bother with hunting humans for the same reason a Tiger would not go alone against a full grown elephant, unless close to starving, you starve your cat and watch what happens only DO NOT DO THIS!

“Have any of you guys seen the llama” sounds like a metaphor of some kind.

the update made all islands the need helped only ever need 1 animal. so you can make the animal requirement happy by placing a bird house.
Ah nice, I imagine I wasn't the only one who didn't want to lose my named sheep 😂

The only worms I’ve seen have been on fallen logs by water. But they don’t look like their icon.
if you build your house around that big tree, you can call it Bag End.
just FYI - I've been getting worms using the Dorkip, or on the side of stumps where they look like two dark lumps
All the talk of worms at the start of the VOD got me curious. Has Toby decided what daycare disease you'll be bringing to Prague?
None is an option.
The RBLF reminds the Splitsie to pack the big Elmo head so people, especially BlackShadow will recognize him. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@FlipsieSorry for the spam.
The bandages are gradual use items, not quick use items.
You get more health the longer you hold the apply button.
@@FlipsieOn the keyboard, ctrl loots all in the loot chests.
Much quicker than clicking each individual item.

Also have a brother-in-law that is a cattle rancher. Enjoyed the stream today. :~)

I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that if the island wasn't healed the trees wouldn't grow 🤔
3:59:41 Feel Good Inc ref.
I wonder what kind of base you could build on one of the islands with all the ruins on them.
Some of them aren't able to be built on apparently, though it would be a nice thing to start upgrading with wood at first and slowly 'restore' them
Kool Game.

Fyi your island is to large, you'll regret it when having to go through the next layer.
