Tinmanelite came out the year I started running, i truly dont even now where i would be with out this group of guys these guys showed me what running truly is, it's not just some sport, it's a lifestyle and they showed me if you have a goal strive for it.
........Every setback is a setup for a comeback/keep the ball rolling

This is an incredible story. I support Tinman with their choices and everything. I used to not be a huge fan but I can see why. Change is important in life and they needed that for the sole reason of improvement. They’re all so talented and you cant blame them for much of this. They work their asses off every day for this sport and it’s not fair they get this hate for no reason. If you’re gut tells you something, you go with it and nothing else

I love the part where they don’t mention bringing lawyers to Tom because he wanted his well-known nickname to stay with him to use after being fired. But now TME gets to capitalize off of it while selling apparel with the name of their former coach on it and he’s getting nothing.

Good job putting the critiques of you guys out there and being honest. Now, regardless of what you do in any given workout, you need to be an arrow with a 3 year target on Paris. It's silly that people on Letsrun say your training partners aren't good enough. Nobody wins by running fast in practice, and it's not like everybody else is crap. They're as good as a good number of athletes on any other professional middle distance group out here. Best luck.

Runners continuously beg media to uplift the running world, to support teams, to make running BIG as a sport. When a big name team is in a growth period we tear them down. I understand the premise of “team first coach second” but these boys are going to get to a point in their career where they don’t have a coach they can trust and a bunch of teammates who are bouncing ideas off of each other without a structured training regiment. You think Galen Rupp ever cared who his teammates were? Nah the dude just knew Alberto would always be there for him (leave the doping talk out of here). Anyone who joined bowerman, joined that team for the coaching of Jerry Schumacher and the ease of being on a team, then they also get the benefit of the teammates. Not the other way around.

One must salute the Tinmen for aiming high. However, there may a lesson from all this. The fact that Rupp stays off social media and does not allow himself to be vulnerable may be wise. I enjoy the Tinman videos with a sense of nostalgia, as I'm sure most folks see themselves in their struggles, their triumphs, etc. However, there is a price to being vulnerable to social media and in the highest levels of track and field, the mental side is huge. The emotions need to be given as much thought as other aspects of preparation, so perhaps a more conservative approach to social media is better. In a way, it is like one's diet - one must be smart in how one eats. Likewise, all the other little things have to be done well, 24/7. The Ingebrigtsens throttled back their social media a few months ago, perhaps recognizing this.

I’m not sure you can really make too much money off this sport unless you are a consistent winner at the highest level so what they are doing is probably more lucrative in the end seeing as it’s a team of many and not just a couple brothers or one person.

I would say I think Tinman Elite is good for the sport but sometimes there's a human component. From the last episode Jaminie said "we rolled the dice on a new training method". It wasn't just Tom making the decisions it seems. Plus he moved out to Boulder to coach the team and to just say he's no longer needed is kinda disappointing and then they copyrighted his name. In a way I would say Tinman is authentic and this series is helping rebuild their brand, but the public perception I would say has probably changed and it will be hard to fix it to some people.
