The owner of that mansion at the end wanted it demolished because they wanted to build three smaller houses on the plot, so they put an advert in the trade papers saying "Anyone want to blow up a mansion for a film?" Michael Bay snapped it up.
Martin said that Will Smith was actually driving the Ferrari for that scene and the scene with Reggie was all improvised and the actor who played him didn’t know they were going to do that 😂😂😂
I luv the part that wasn't shown. "Do you both wake up in morning, call each other up. Good morning, Marcus, Good morning Mike, how u doing, aight. So how are we going to f* up the captain's life today"
The definition of a Michael Bay film 😂Explosions everywhere! Also love the intro of the vid with the explosion special effects 😄Very Michael Bay esque lol Also happy birthday Andrew!!!
They actually improvised that scene with Reggie, that was his first time meeting will smith and Martin Lawrence, and Micheal bay decided to do this so Reggie’s reaction is 100 percent real that was also his first role ever
To this day, Bad Boys 2 has an uncontested Guinness World Record for the number of vehicles destroyed in one scene in the same film. Bridge chase scene is STILL INSANE, even so many years later. Mansion gunfight also. So much excellent action-centric cinematography and in-camera work going on in this film. Still definitely one of Bay’s best.
Personal favorite list best lines in this movie: "Yo Dan Marino should definitely get this car; well not THIS one 'cause Imma EFF this one up; but he should definitely get a car LIKE this." lol.
FINALLY this is my favorite movie out of the franchise I can quote it from start to finish lol Martin has the funniest lines especially when he was on X “this a nice fcking fish big eyes but a nice fcking fish” him drinking out that damn vase takes me out every time, when they are in the video store and people don’t know the context of the situation. 😂 Fun fact: the kid who played Reggie wasn’t an actor they just liked his looked and asked him if he wanted to be in a scene, the reaction to the gun and everything is real he was lowkey spooked lol and I believe during the gun fight with the Haitians that’s will smith driving could be wrong.
I like that Tara actually let's Andrew finish his thoughts without constantly interrupting, and doesn't get annoyed at his knowledge of movies... Unlike the other Sheject, no hate.
This one is so over the top with action scenes that last too long and random other scenes that are funny that don't need to be in the movie. I love every minute of it
There was a two season series called L.A.'s Finest. Where Gabrielle Union reprised her role from this movie and she was partnered with Jessica Alba. I loved that show, I wish it didn't get canned after just two seasons.
i was a fan of that too. I suppose it got lopped off cuz it was too expensive for TV. But it reminded me of the Bill Bellamy/Peter Facinelli show "Fastlane."
The fact he said Markus doesn’t listen but literally everybody is confused to what plan B is made it so much better 😂 where was everybody when he went over it.
I always love your appreciation for the art and craft of creating epic action sequences. Would happily watch a series of reactions where Andrew reacts with some of the actual stunt performers involved to give some behind the scenes and technical info. They are such a crucial and underappreciated part of movie magic. I think it would be great!
The scene with reggie is one of my favorites. Pretty sure the actor didn’t know how hard they were gonna go in on the interrogation. He looks truly terrified.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence faked an argument in front of Dennis McDonald (Reggie) just before they shot the scene to generate real nervousness out of him
I’m coming back to say… Get behind me Andrew😊 Andrew, I’ve seen a couple of comments on here. Don’t change a damn thing! I love watching you and Tara. You both are the highlight and what get me through the week. So screw anyone who doesn’t appreciate your awesomeness. Watching you, and Tara bring people like myself so much joy. I only wish I had a mate like you I could watch movies with and a chick friend (Tara to bring the fun vibes). You do you! Happy Birthday again🎉❤
Omg yesssss all about the Benjamin’s deserves a reaction funniest shyt ever lmao “hell naw I ain’t okay didn’t you just see me fall” gets me every time. 😂
1:01:54 Pay attention to how easy Mike speaks Spanish. Part of this universe id a show called LA's Finest with Gabrielle Union as Sid & Jessica Alba as her partner, it expounds on the Barnett family & you see a familiar face from bad boys.
As much as I hate Michael Bay as a director and storyteller, he did have his finger on the pulse of cheesy but awesome 00’s era slow motion and practical effects.
This is my favorite action comedy of all-time. This movie is balls to the wall. Super funny and great action. I can't think of a funnier action movie with action set pieces this great
Idk if yall caught it or not, but when the other officers offer to help Mike and Marcus go to Cuba, they state that they are ex delta...they are refering to Delta Force, meaning they are ex Army Special Forces. Delta force is the Army's most elite counter terrorism unit.
Fun fact: one of the dancers in the nightclub scene near the beginning is Megan Fox (in the red hat). Slightly more disturbing fact: she was only 16 at the time.
No, not "informant;" a "computer hacking specialist." He was arrested for being a hacker and cracking into computers illegally. This must mean he was given a chance to work FOR the Miami PD in exchange for release.
Funny that they were saying if the Russian and Cuban villains were switched as originally BB2 was suppose to be set with a European villain before that millionaire offered his house to be blown up 1:27:37
This is Michael Bay at his most Michael Bay, and I am here for it. Such a great, no-holds barred action movie. You're right: he went ALL OUT with this one. "Pearl Harbor" came out in '01, and got some pretty bad reviews... I feel, Bay followed up with this, just so he could double down on his style & flair and be unapologetically him as a director. Every action scene in this movie is a straight banger. Nice use of both practical and visual FX and stunt work. And actually, Will Smith had done "Ali" in '01, so he was fresh off getting swole for that movie. He definitely was in that phase of wanting to keep showing that shit off, so he kept muscle for this movie.
The hummer scene where it drives down through all the houses was done as a homage to one of Michael Bay’s favorite movies - Police Story, a classic Jackie Chan movie from the 80s, where there’s a very very similar scene.
If you notice when Johnny Tapia falls into the mines, the barricades behind him look like crosses, alluding to his displeasure with the Last Supper painting earlier.
Trevor Rabin also did the score for Gone in 60 Seconds with Nic Cage & Angelina Jolie. I remember watching a "making of" for this movie back in the day, & IIRC they said that this was made around the same time as the Matrix Reloaded (that also had a big freeway chase scene) and this one cost like half of what the Matrix one did.
Im from Miami, there was so much backlash from this entire scene 19:43. What I remember it pissed off city of Miami officials so much, it’s why Bay and bruckheimer were not very welcomed in Miami. Which is a part, why it took so long to film Bad Boys 3.
The Russian (whose name eludes me right now) was also on Prison Break. I won’t give any spoilers but he was a great actor on that show! Absolutely awesome!
They did TRY to make a Bad Boys spin-Off Series starring Sid (Gabrielle Union). it's called L.A.'s Finest and co-stars Jessica Alba; who plays Syd's partner. There's even a mention of Mike but it's very fleeting.
"the therapy scene is unnecessary and to long" several minutes later miming woosaw not realizing the importance of the opening lol. Also the gabriel union line only makes sense if she misses and they needed to tell the audience what she was attempting but i dont remember how that scene plays out....does anyone remember?
Michael Bay & Jerry Bruckheimer are not the only perfect team. Check out Dominic Sena's "Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)" and "Swordfish (2001)", also produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Great casting all around in both movies!
1:10:20 if I remember correctly the stunt guy that did that drive down the hill had to make sure to stay in the middle of it. Because on one side was a 60 foot drop and the other was a 30 foot drop. It's such a crazy good scene. Lol
Tara has me sayin Juice now, i really enjoy this one. The 360 shots in the shootout in the house is epic. The car chase is insane. Love it. Bad boys for life. The drama of everyone putting their lives on the line for his sister was just emotionally well hit.
Wow, good thing I watched this because I guess it's been a while since I've seen BB2, I didnt remember anything up until the end where they're driving down the hill through the shacks, it's the only part that rung a bell. I will say the first movie has the better story but BB2 amped up the action to a ridiculous degree.

Once again you are at it, reacting the second film. So hilarious with the Haitians shootout scene.
A second time, y'all cut out the Michael Bay signature shot.
I'm pissed the spin off show of Bad Boys was canceled with Gabriel Union & Jessica Alba 😔 called LA's Finest
The owner of that mansion at the end wanted it demolished because they wanted to build three smaller houses on the plot, so they put an advert in the trade papers saying "Anyone want to blow up a mansion for a film?"
Michael Bay snapped it up.
That’s pretty fuckin cool😬!!
That’s honestly so cool because them absolutely destroying that house is one of my favorite parts lol
Humans love to waste
😂😂
Martin said that Will Smith was actually driving the Ferrari for that scene and the scene with Reggie was all improvised and the actor who played him didn’t know they were going to do that 😂😂😂
I heard it was Michael Bay's personal cars 😆.
Viggo never broke his toe. I trust none of this now.
The joker bomb scene wasn't improv either 😢
Yeah, I read that too and that the car that flipped over Martin's head ACTUALLY flipped over his head. Which is why he reacted the way he reacted.

Joe's delivery is TOP tier 😂😂
This movie is the perfect example of being bigger, badder, and bolder. And i love it everytime lol.
Movie that introduces Reggie, the MVP of the series
Who would have thought?
Facts lol
The highway chase scene is iconic
It’s my absolute favorite michael bay action scene!
The definition of a Michael Bay film 😂Explosions everywhere! Also love the intro of the vid with the explosion special effects 😄Very Michael Bay esque lol Also happy birthday Andrew!!!
“YALL motherfuckers need Jesus….cover ya ears baby” is the best quote in the movie
Jordi Mollá is just a total gem in this movie, so wonderfully over the top.
The Reggie scene is my favorite part from all the bad boys movies 😂 all dads should love that scene
They actually improvised that scene with Reggie, that was his first time meeting will smith and Martin Lawrence, and Micheal bay decided to do this so Reggie’s reaction is 100 percent real that was also his first role ever
" 22 cars, and a boat? How did you sink a boat" 😂😂
Even more cars than Smokey & The Bandit 2? 😬🤓
The excessive explosions of this video says this is a Michael Bay film 😂😂😂
Fun fact: Tapia’s Cuban estate was a real abandoned mansion that the production acquired and blew up.
The idea of the cars driving down the hill through all the shacks was taken from one of JACKIE CHAN's most famous movies: "POLICE STORY".
Personal favorite list best lines in this movie: "Yo Dan Marino should definitely get this car; well not THIS one 'cause Imma EFF this one up; but he should definitely get a car LIKE this." lol.

I love how you took the common criticisms and basically said you ate it up, just like me!! I couldn’t get enough of all of it!
it's so perfect. Sometimes too much is just enough. I love this movie for that
This is one of the few movies where Michael Bay’s manic energy makes this film work even more. This is the funniest Bad Boys film in the franchise
Easily my favorite of the franchise. So many memorable scenes
