It looks like they are at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. Pretty good steakhouse, not too pricey. I believe they have a 35oz tomahawk for about $100. If you are ever in Chicago, stop by my restaurant “Smith & Wollensky” and I’ll get you a 44oz Black Wagyu Tomahawk, carved table-side. I’m the chef there. Great videos by the way, I have been following you for years 👍
Looking at their website: They have a Tomahawk Tuesdays special, which is what they did. It’s $150. 2 salads, 1 side to be shared, 2 desserts, shared tomahawk steak. Those potatoes are 980 calories, so 490 cal per person. To be fair, as far as steak houses go, I’d say that’s reasonable but my views may be skewed since I’m used to NYC prices.
Kabir, the price depends on the beef. I can find a choice grade tomahawk steak a Walmart or local supermarket occasionally for between $35 and $55 each but in a restaurant the beef is usually prime grade, certified angus beef aka CAB, or Wagyu. Then, if it's grass fed and / or dry aged and for how long all have a big factor in the price of the steak, you're eating. Then what part of the country are you enjoying that steak and is that restaurant in a high traffic tourist area or not, all play a part in the price too. I can tell you that if their meal was ala carte they probably paid about $150- $180 for dinner.
Bananas Foster is just flambeed bananas with brown sugar and butter served with vanilla ice cream. They leveled up and made it into a bread pudding. They were not impressed with the original bananas foster. They are very smart when they do this to share the steak because if it wasn't on the bone and separated into two plates, it's the perfect serving, one salad each, one side each, one dessert each. Perfect meal!
Medium rare is the best way to order a cut of meat. If they undercook it, it is rare and still edible. If they overcook it ,it’s medium and still edible. They literally can’t screw up the order outside of not cooking it at all or cremating it .
I'm right there with you, K. I would need a bit of green on the side even though the salad could be considered that veggie portion of the meal. A hot veggie would've worked for me. A brussel sprout, broccoli or asparagus...something. Not green beans though, which I don't like.
A tomahawk steak is a ribeye with the whole rib bone still attached and ribeye or prime rib should be eaten rare or medium rare for maximum flavor. Get past the look and just try it, it will change your palate. Once you take ribeye to medium, it has lost most of its beefy flavor and now just tastes like a cheaper less flavorful cut of meat and also starts becoming much more tough. Sourdough is my favorite bread and real San Francisco Sourdough is what I grew up on. It is really worth the carbs. That is a think Tomahawk, they are usually twice that thick and from the larger end of the rib but it still looks delicious. The bone on ribeye or prime rib is my favorite. If I cook a prime rib roast, I cut off the bones for myself and serve the roast to my guests. I love gnawing on the rib bone the flavor is the absolute best. Bananas Foster is a dessert that is made by first creating a caramel (butter, brown sugar, cinnamon) in a skillet then tossing in the bananas to get all golden brown in the caramel then dark rum (and optional banana liquor) is added and the flaming caramel and bananas are poured onto Vanilla ice cream.
The two of them did a video reaction at a steakhouse in Las Vegas and they showed all of the food prices. I know Mr. H had a tomahawk steak when he was in Texas. I think Mr. H said his tomahawk steak was $70.
Ribeye is my favorite cut of steak. It's tender and flavorful because of the thin lines of fat that line the cut. Can't go wrong with a T-bone or porterhouse as the bone adds flavor. A NY strip will give you a nice meaty flavor sans fat or bone. I have a couple ribeye's in my freezer I should thaw out and grill.
My wife and I love your videos. We wind down in the evenings sometimes with UA-cam videos, and whenever I click on one of yours, my wife goes, "Oh. I like him." You're a comforting soul. Keep it up. Cheers.
I Love citrus AND vinegar so... And tomatoes... so I don't understand Nicola, aside from vinegar and tomato opinions, she really, imo, seems to have great taste... but the tomato & vinegar dislikes mess w/ my perceptions of her. Bananas foster is a dessert consisting of sliced bananas and a rum sauce served over vanilla ice cream. It originated in New Orleans and is often prepared tableside in restaurants as a flambé (a cooking technique in which alcohol is added to a hot pan, creating flames).
Only eat steak medium-rare, it’s the only way it is eaten. We have a local steakhouse that has a 24 oz. Tomahawk for $65 ala carte. Meal and drinks add $25.
I'm not sure why tourists think that every place you go to all the dishes are going to taste the same. Even if you've had a dish in one place It probably won't taste the same in another establishment or region of the country. People like to put their own spin on dishs according to their own taste and according to the region/location you're in. That's why it's good to at least try a little of everything, if you are able to.😊
A high end local steak house in my city in New England has a Tomahawk Tuesday for Two Special : a 35 oz Tomahawk for two, plus bread, two salads, two sides and two deserts. Price for the meal only $ 157.59. Add in drinks, taxes and tips, and total would be well over $200.
Bananas Foster is a dessert made from bananas and vanilla ice cream, with a sauce made from butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark rum, and banana liqueur.[2] The butter, sugar and bananas are cooked, and then alcohol is added and ignited. The bananas and sauce are then served over the ice cream. Popular toppings also include whipped cream and different types of nuts (pecans, walnuts, etc.). The dish is often prepared tableside as a flambé.
the worst steak cooked is 'WELL DONE"! means Burnt! Medium well is the furthest steak should be cooked! Medium Rare is ideal according to most chefs.. however sometimes Medium Rare is not warm enough center where Medium is a good spot for hot pink center.
Yeah medium rare done wrong can cause food poisoning because it’s still raw and uncooked. I got food poisoning of medium rare steak before because it was not cooked properly, this is why I avoid red meat all together than rather get criticized asking for well done steak due to the trama. Also this happened in a 5 star restaurant.
25 years ago, I made an improv dessert for friends. It was toasted waffles, bananas with brown sugar and butter (microwaved), and topped with vanilla ice cream. 😅. I didn't realize that I had made a poor man's Banana Foster. BTW: 1 tblsp butter, 1 tblsp brown sugar, per 1 Banana. Heat, then mash.
Ive bought one from a local world-famous butcher, and im a bit of a steak snob because im literally a carnivore. I eat no plants. It wasn't as good as a regular ribeye.
Medium rare is the only way to eat a steak. Minimal seasoning other than salt to enhance the meat flavor not hide it. Kabir, that's what the salad is for. I eat mine with my steak instead of cooked green veggies.
That steak looks amazing. I love streak cooked to medium rare and when it’s done right there is never a need for a sauce. Wish I knew which restaurant this is. I have to be in Austin for a class later this year, I would give it a shot.
No constipation with grease. We Americans know how to have a great constitution for good food. Living in American and eating right you will always be regular..😁👍💯🐂
It seems a little overcooked to me....but most of the UK food.reactions prefer.their beef well done and when the chef refuses to overcook filet or NY strip they learn it's not chewy, it's more tender and flavorful.
What's terrible is a lot of youtubers come to the states to try our food, which is fine. Before they taste it, they smell every bite, say things looks disgusting, it looks weird and seem either freaked out or disgusted. Then go on to say how terrible it is for you.l when they hit every fast food franchise in a matter of days. We don't eat fast food every day, not even every week. We have.pizzerias that make their food.fresh every day not a franchise using pre made dough, packaged sauce and cheese that's is often times mozzarella. She's disgusted by a tomato, you can order things without certain items instead of seeming to want to hurl your breakfast all over their dinner plate. Are they even aware how rude and insulting their actions come across. If they acted that way in establishment I had owned they would be asked to leave, not only this couple, but many others.
They’re at Fleming’s in Austin Texas. It’s a chain of upscale steak houses. Even the snootiest gourmet won’t complain about Fleming’s being part of a chain.
Caesar dressing doesn't have cream....so I don't know why she's insulted the food before having it. They need to stop comparing our food to the food they eat at home.
Bananas Foster is a specialty of Brennan's in New Orleans. The actual desert is lengthwise banana slices sauteed in butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Then rum and banana liqueur are added to the pan and flambeed. Finally, the result is served over a dish of vanilla ice cream. FYI, Josh and Ollie [Jolly] went to Brennan's to try it out when they were in New Orleans. Andrew and Nicola are eating a Texas variation on the original.
Sourdough bread won't spike your blood glucose near as much therefore not bad for you. Also if you eat a high carb meal, do yourself a favor and crush a clove of raw garlic and mix it with some of your meal. That will do two things. 1. Level your blood glucose. 2. Lower your blood pressure. I prefer my steaks medium as I do not eat raw meat.
I cant watch this again its the one with the server taking it upon himself to start cutting up the steak at the table . To me thats equivalent to a rapey situation. Dont fuck with my food. Id have walked out on the spot! It should be left as the choice of the customer not the overboard service. Always ask that bugers and sandwiches not be cut in half and Especially not cutting the sandwich diagonal which is another walk away.
0:58 Beef steaks are the priciest cuts i.e., ribeye, T-bone, porterhouse or a NY strip. If you order them medium or well done, you are wasting the flavor. Medium rare is the only way to enjoy the flavor of the premium cuts.
It wasn't this place they waited 3hrs for. They waited for Franklin BBQ, which top-notch bbq and you have to wait hours in line. They did a video for that one too, if you want to see it.
Texans are so full of themselves
They really are
As we deserve to be!!!
In the US you can get steak and eggs for breakfast. That was my son’s Friday morning breakfast on football game day.
It looks like they are at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. Pretty good steakhouse, not too pricey. I believe they have a 35oz tomahawk for about $100.

that whole meal is about 50-60$ here in vegas..
The salad was the greens! 😂
It's at Dean's Steakhouse Austin, I think. I'm like 75% sure.
Texas Wagyu from Rosewood Ranch Tomahawk Ribeye, 36 oz. $250.00
Looking at their website:

There's a restaurant in Toronto, Ontario, Canada called The Tomahawk. I wonder if they have this particular steak there.
My Stomach goes Bananas 🍌 at the Same Time Yours Does !!! Not morning here, but about to BBQ a Steak just because I watched this !

They had the salad to grease the pipes

I have a craving now. A steak sandwich will have to do me as that's the only cut I have in the fridge. Maybe two lol.
I'm right there with you, K. I would need a bit of green on the side even though the salad could be considered that veggie portion of the meal. A hot veggie would've worked for me. A brussel sprout, broccoli or asparagus...something. Not green beans though, which I don't like.

If slightly undercooked to your taste, add a little salt and throw them on the grill. Untouchable goodness!
Around 12:20, you looked totally mesmerized!!!
If you've eaten your salad, i doubt you'd need a green side.
The two of them did a video reaction at a steakhouse in Las Vegas and they showed all of the food prices. I know Mr. H had a tomahawk steak when he was in Texas. I think Mr. H said his tomahawk steak was $70.
That’s maybe a $175-200ish meal all together.
My steak and burgers has to be very well done. I've sent back filet mignon and asked them to Butterfly it and cook it well done.
Ribeye is my favorite cut of steak. It's tender and flavorful because of the thin lines of fat that line the cut. Can't go wrong with a T-bone or porterhouse as the bone adds flavor. As always great reaction. Just to give you an idea on cost for a Tomahawk steak, at the supermarket (raw) it will cost you between 35 to 50 dollars.

I'm the opposite, I used to be a rare guy but now prefer medium. Not only for taste but food safety too.

❤❤❤
A Tomahawk steak is just a thick ribeye with the long bone extended. I personally like medium rare steak. Something Gordon Ramsey would agree with.
the worst steak cooked is 'WELL DONE"! means Burnt! Medium well is the furthest steak should be cooked! Medium Rare is ideal according to most chefs.. however sometimes Medium Rare is not warm enough center where Medium is a good spot for hot pink center.

nothing beat a ribeye!!!! NOYHING!!!
I don't eat red meat but I like watching them.
Same.
Save yours for me 😅
Ok I will save mine for you.😋☺️

My husband and I always split one and the dog gets the bone.
It's cowboy butter
Ive bought one from a local world-famous butcher, and im a bit of a steak snob because im literally a carnivore. I eat no plants. It wasn't as good as a regular ribeye.
They don't bring you bread when you're seated in the uk?
Medium...rare is fine with me
Medium rare is the only way to eat a steak. Minimal seasoning other than salt to enhance the meat flavor not hide it.

how did they eat all that ?
No ketchup then lol
I've been on a diet for several months and so that meal is just like making me drool!!!!!!!
It's regular butter...you wouldn't be served garlic butter. Sour dough isn't all that sour..it's hearty.
No constipation with grease. We Americans know how to have a great constitution for good food. Living in American and eating right you will always be regular..😁👍💯🐂

It's so sad that the only place you can get a steak or barbecue is Texas. None of this exists in the other 49 states.
I'd eat the ends and as much of the top of the steak as I can, NOT going anywhere near that raw azz middle...Yuck

Neither what they describe nor what he's eating is authentic Caesar Salad but recipes change
You wouldn't like that at all. 😅😅
Kabir, you should see the look on your face.
wheres the ketchup on the steak ?
It looks a little small ??
Those taters are scalloped taters.
The steak looked a little too done for my taste but I’m sure it was delicious and you can’t go wrong with a nice salad
No good wine with the steak ????????
Looks a bit over to me.
They’re at Fleming’s in Austin Texas. It’s a chain of upscale steak houses. Even the snootiest gourmet won’t complain about Fleming’s being part of a chain.

Them gushing over the chocolate lava cake just makes me laugh. If you've seen the movie "Chef", you'll know why.
Why did they serve it off bone and pre sliced? Totally ruins it!! What a waste of $100!
They didn't finish anything they've ordered. You can't reheat the steak.
I could!

You need to practice saying "tomahawk".
And what the hell is tomahtoh?
I like my steak well done. I don’t want to hear my steak moo when I stick a fork in it.
