NRA Drops Full Interview with Killer Mike

  • Killer Mike found himself in hot water last week when the NRA posted a clip of an interview he did with them online. In a smart, yet somewhat tacky marketing ploy, the NRA released a clip where Mike talks about his beliefs on parenting in connection with the gun conversation. They dropped the snippet on the same day the March For Our Lives rally took place. “I told my kids on the school walkout: ‘I love you-if you walk out that school, walk out my house,’” stated Mike in the snippet. Watch above.

      Donell Earlycutt they hate the fact that the interview became a tool for the NRA. Even tho he supports the NRA.

    • @2cent826

      Donell Earlycutt it’s the platform he choose to use. The NRA is a right wing organization the profits from pumping guns into American society. Killer Mike should be ashamed he went on NRAtv....then he acted like he was surprised when they exploited is interview. He got played!

      2 Cent I disagree. The NRA doesn’t pump guns anywhere. They support the second amendment and fight to insure that second amendment isn’t trampled on. Gun companies distribute guns throughout the country to sale and no I’m not an NRA member

    • @2cent826
      @2cent826 6 років тому +9

      Donell Earlycutt I know the NRA wants you to believe they are protecting the 2nd amendment but they are a sponsor organization for profit. The gun industry which is a multi BILLION dollar industry donates roughly 52.6 million dollars per year to the NRA. The NRA funnels a portion of that money into republican politicians in order to influence gun laws that favor gun companies in America. I respect your opinion but your opinion might change if you read about the NRA instead of just believing what they tell you!

    • @WestsidePatriot
      @WestsidePatriot 6 років тому

      henry4625 The platform does matter because he didn't speak from a politically objective point of view. He sounded like right-wing gun nut speaking down on black people. The other token was stringing along the conversation strategically by mentioning our pitfalls and made it seem like we're standing for dumb shit and not putting our money in the right places. It goes with the old adage, "Praise in public, correct in private." He should have been correcting US on OUR platforms, not on a for- profit right-wing affiliated platform that hasn't been exactly associated with the betterment of black people. Rewatch the interview and you can see this nigga got turned out like trick for the moment.

    Talking gun control in the cities is only half of it. You must also discuss the war on drugs. Most of the gun violence we see in the inner city is because of the war on drugs. Look at your local news. Most times you see someone killed is over drugs. Mass incarceration and community instability can also be traced back to how the drug war is waged. Gun control is a non issue and it really makes things worse. I think decriminalization of drugs needs to be discussed first and foremost.

      Luesean Brown he’s a well spoken man but he never brings up the social economic crisis that’s hindering Black people to succeed. Racism now a days is just plain ignorance about one’s culture or race. We Americans have pretty decent internet speed and have the power to kill ignorance by educating our selves using the internet but most Americans are too busy watching porn instead of educating themselves better to avoid saying or acting in a way that can be considered to be ignorant or racist towards one person.

      Pokemo Rgasm quick suggestion to you would be ONLY SPEAK FOR YOURSELF. You REALLY don't KNOW what MOST Americans are too busy doing. & THIS same govt just passed a bill to tamper with the internet starting in April 2018. RACISM is & has far more to do than just skin color & culture. While we're@ it, the socio-economic issue popped up a brief sec in this interview, but WHY complain that they Didn't speak to that issue & comment about it on UA-cam when you can do your OWN vids on here about it to pass around? It's not hard for info to go viral then we can see just how much YOU been researching/educating yourself on the matter on the internet instead of watching porn etc.

You Don't KNOW & most certainly Haven't spoken to MOST so called black or so called African American people to even make this idiotic statement so hush

    Killer Mike is a smart, well spoken individual. I’ve listened to him in interviews before , but not on some of the issues he spoke on in this particular interview. He makes a lot of damn good points , but late in the interview when he speaks on the assault rifles...he says more people are shot by hand guns. He’s right...there are more people shot by hand guns overall, but when a few psychopaths decide to shoot up several people at one time in an enclosed environment...the chances of them succeeding goes way up! Why does a civilian need a gun that shoots fifty and one hundred round drums? It’s insane. I’m for Americans owning guns, but there should be common sense laws for them.

      Well because you are cursing, a lot. 🤣 Yeah i like to as well, but you’re seeming to do it out of anger because:
      1) It wasn’t directed to you first.
      2) It’s a lot. Almost every sentence.
      3) You’re not really making any “arguments”, just a lot of insults like you’re lashing out at someone.
      If you’re really trying to prove a point I’ll talk to you with an opened mind. I know I don’t know everything, and I am willing to listen to people who think differently than me. But if you’re just going to throw insults at people then you’re not going to get very far with people.

    I don't think he cares they are racist. I think he wants black people to support the NRA more for strategic reasons. Even if they only care about white peoples gun rights by default that means black people get to keep theirs too. If the NRA is fighting to keep a certain weapon from getting banned and your black and you also don't want that weapon banned then the NRA JUST HELPED YOU weather they're racist or not doesn't matter what they really feel about you. Which seems like sound logic to me if in fact all you care about is keeping certain gun rights, I don't think anything else matters to him.

    • @rzrselliott

What he means is NRA is racist and only cares about their white supremacist buddies being able to keep their guns. Which means every other race gets to keep theirs too even if they don't like them they just care about keeping the guns which by default means EVERYONE keeps their guns

Then he told u how he respectfully approaches situations where a power dynamic, even when your legally within your rights, can go brutally wrong. Unfortunately none of his will stop u from getting jacked if u slippin or shot by the police if u have the correct paperwork. Besafetho...oops another reference where a firearm made it's way into a complicated situation. In any case a rapper from the streets and a rapper with a street perspective who is very socially and politically self aware has told us that is better to be with it than without it.

      Typical spiel, cause something then condemn the effect of it. Good racist white folk are doing most of the extremist killings in America, and that has nothing to do with black folks being “triggered”, as you put it. Good demon seed, as well as lack of integrity and courage to face responsibility on the part of white people is what keeps racism going.

    Dred Scott case, back in 1857 which was Dred Scott v. Sandford a landmark case by the United States Supreme Court on US labor law and constitutional law. It held that "a negro, whose ancestors were imported into the America and were sold as slaves" whether enslaved or free, could not be an American citizen and therefore had no standing to sue in federal court and that the federal government had no power to regulate slavery in the federal territories acquired after the creation of the United States. Meaning that Dred Scott could not own a firearm under the Second Amendment signed December 15, 1791...

    I was an NRA member for 5 years after I received my concealed weapon permit. It's really just a collective bargaining co-op like AAA, and AARP. They have hella travel discounts.

    I never heard of Killer Mike since he did a song for GTA V. Can someone explain how or why this guy is involved in rap music? Like he seems to be completely unknown but I have seen him eating dinner with politicians and being interviewed like in this video but I have no clue who he is, where he came from and why I should care about him at all

      MVelli you're obviously not a hip hop scholar... he came from Outkast label he's been in the game for a long long time and he currently makes albums under the group RTJ Run The Jewels

      Stop raising pansies who refuse to stand up for themselves. Bullying was a bigger issue in the past, high schoolers use to haze the younger kids out in the open! Every decade bullying becomes less & less of an issue & yet...

    The First time the NRA opposed Gun Laws was the Gun Control Act of 1968 signed by then President Lyndon B. Johnson on October 22, 1968 that regulated the firearms industry and firearms owners which focuses on regulating interstate commerce in firearms by generally prohibiting interstate firearms transfers except among licensed manufacturers, dealers and importers. The reasoning behind the Law was the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1963 by a mail-order purchased of the rifle that shot and killed President Kennedy in the NRA magazine named the "American Rifleman"... Fun Fact the American Rifleman is still in circulation by the NRA with 2.2 million based by 2012 stats...

    The NRA does not care about Black & Brown Gun owner rights! When the Black Panther Party marched on May 2, 1967 against the California State Assembly which was legal to due at the time. The Mulford Act was introduced into law and signed on July 28, 1967 by then Governor Roland Reagan who would later become the 40th President of United States of America (Fun Fact), which banned loaded firearms on public grounds!!! The NRA was speechless at the time in support for the Black Panther Party...

    Why is your life not worth anyone else’s just because you’re black? I deal with the same trials and tribulations of life day in and day out living paycheck to paycheck paying my bills and then deciding what we can get, all of the problems are within the major cities across America more people more problems it’s just common sense!
