Man id love one of those MAS 49/56s but there's just no guarantee of bore condition, and for at a minimum of a 600 gamble on them its just too risky. No one makes replacement barrels currently so you cant fix a bad purchase either

Good video. I been wanting a Mas 49/56 but bore condition is definitely a thing that has kept me from taking the plunge . I would love to have seen their Dutch Beaumonts

@@MegaBait1616 it’s not so bad when it’s 199 rifle but 600+ is a lot to gamble

Those Ethiopian FN guns look neat. Maybe in the future when I can afford it, I'll go for one, but man those refurbs are expensive. Hopefully there's an original or two left.

Just got one from RTI . My father was in an Italian Army light armored unit as a reservist during the 1930’s and fought in the Balkan campaign in early WW2.
I saw from his old photographs that these were issued as tanker rifles to “Carristi”. I would love to also have the diagonal ammo pouch belt. I have a repro GI ammo belt to go with my Garand but I doubt I will ever get my hands on a Carcano belt.
I basically bought the rifle as a fireplace rack display piece but I see there is some usable 6.5x52 ammo being made for it again. I know these aren’t the greatest shooters, but I’m thinking about researching who makes the best reproduction en bloc clip, getting a clip, and a box of ammo just to shoot it once. Now that I think about it I wonder if there are any surplus WW2 vintage Italian armor unit helmets floating around.

I bought one. It had the best bore and stock I’ve gotten from RTI. Well worth it.

Yea, the ones they got from Italy are actually really really really nice… some of the best condition I’ve seen them in honestly. PW Arms got some from Italy a couple of years ago and they were hit or miss

You posted the same comment on a few other of my videos. Your experience with them must have been pretty bad, please share…
