      I enjoy your videos very much. Thanks for the lesson on fried rice. I tried to to make it in the past, but didn't know the rice had to be cooked the day before. I will follow your instructions. I like when Dude does "the taste". Have a blessed day.

    Hello Flo, Dude, family and followers.
    Flo my mom used to make white rice and put a fried egg on top, that was the best meal ever cause I knew she did with love and hard for her solo with 3 girls to raise. Moms are amazing.

    Also, wanted to add…it might not be the way restaurants make it, but at home you can put almost any veggies you want in there. And you can use pretty much any kind of meat you want, too. AND you can totally make it with the precooked rice packages from the grocery store if you’re on a clock and you don’t have any day-old rice on hand.
    Lastly, it is NEXT LEVEL AMAZING with Indonesian peanut sauce on top of it, and some additional ketjap manis drizzled over that…mostly for visuals, but also for that little sweet, syrupy kick.
    In conclusion…is Nasi Goreng the absolute BEST way ever invented to repurpose your leftover meat and veggies? Yes. Yes it is. 😁👍

    Nasi Goreng is a delicious dish that my wonderful mother used to make. My parents (Dutch), and before that my grandparents, used to live in Djakarta, Indonesia. I was brought up with Indonesian/Malaysian food. Yummy! Thank you!

      Absolutely right! Oma was from Rotterdam and made this with marinated pork and served with Pork Sautee and Krupuk and Lumpias. The BEST!

    I wanted to share with you-
    My in-laws came from Holland, and we enjoyed this Dish often. I think you and family would also, made like Oma did. She didn't use Shrimp paste, and the meat was pork, marinated overnight in both Soy sauces only. And the pork Also went on skewers, making Sautee. The only veggies Oma used was Bean Sprouts, Cabbage & Bok Choi. These along with Krupuk are Yummy! Easier to make & Never any left at Potlucks. Enjoy!

    Nasi goreng is indeed the best fried rice recipe for me personally. That umami flavor punch from sambal terasi is just special & way too nostalgic. My mom still cook the same nasi goreng since I was a child, altough instead of just chicken, she only or both added meatballs & sausages for variety of meat textures. It's just a superior taste imo LOL

You can experiment add whatever you like swap up meats & veges of choice. I would add some spring onions garnish or coriander & radishes to crunch on. • @FloLum
      @FloLum  Рік тому +1

      So kind! I make rice using the Instant Pot but I don’t think that’s why it’s fluffy. Rice should be al dente, not mushy. And you can accomplish that by using the right amount of rice to water depending on the cooking method you use. (Instant pot and rice cooker is 1:1 and in a pot on the stove is 1:1.25) I think maybe it’s using leftover Jasmine rice. Fried rice is best when using cold leftover rice as I explained in the video. Hope that helps.
