    James Brown is an absolute LEGEND to still be performing like this at 65+ years old! (btw is THIS what television looked like in the 90s? Sheesh man this is brutal)

    I have found just 3 versions of Funk On A Roll on all of YT - the tune I agree is a hypnotic JB creation - still remember the night he introduced it on Letterman - this one has the guitar gliss breakdown, sax solo by Jeff; but seems like JB hasn't yet decided on the whole lyric, and the 2nd guitar part changes for Vegas DVD version. Pittsburgh and St Luke's videos he doesnt do the song

    It's that the Hippie Aesthetic couldn't get with his dance grooves. They don't dance. For them it's, exclusively and limited too, the serious singer songwriter musician. So even though Mr. Brown wrote serious songs, the Hippie Aesthetic could stand his funk tracks. So the Hippie Aesthetic didn't like James Brown. For the rest of us - we simply adored the man and his music.
