I have been interested in this AFSC for quite some time. My detachment has not yet covered 13N for career day. This is very valuable information. Thank you!

This is a career killing afsc to get - very low civilian skills transfer, very limited allowance for cross-training to another afsc, severely limited basing options, almost zero chance to ever deploy, a general under appreciation by the public and other military on top of a monotonous and physically unhealthy job overall.

I disagree. I know of two ladies who transferred from 13N to 14N and 38F respectively. Outside of pilots, the operations side of the Air Force is very small. You can still be on track for O-6. A 13M (airfield ops) made 0-7 a year or two ago. However, it takes a certain personality to do it. What makes the Air Force so great is that there are multiple avenues after your initial tour, especially with the transition from minutemen to sentinels. But yeah, three years as a missile operator is a long time to be in a bunker!
