Oi, watch the meme version while you're at it: ua-cam.com/video/WIuq2RtYPHc/v-deo.html
It’s a shame it’s fictional, because that would badass to see an engine do that on ice in real life
I think train of thought did a video on something like that
Its a magic train
It’s literally impossible
You can with ice that’s 47 inches thick,
The thing is anyone with half a brain can understand that this is just a movie and the physics are complete Bullshit
I never understand how the polar express never explodes...
It’s a magic train
Amazing Work on the animation.
This brings me back to one of the best films to exist thank you!
One guy said, “How come an engineer’s pin breaks the ice but not a 40,000 TON locomotive?!”
I believe it has something to do with weight distribution.
It’s a magic train
You did one hell of a job animating the reverser, the rapid "shifting" still rocks
even if it's highly not recommended for the real thing
Not sure if you noticed, but this animation is so attentive to detail on the engine that even the unpowered lead wheels have realistic physics and are shoved around like a truck&trailer. Im so genuinely impressed ngl.
Dam
Oh yeah! I remember that scene. Robert KNOWS how to keep the audience on their TOES.
Great work reanimating the scene! Well done!
1:27 Jonah: Brace yourselves!
Just saw the movie again today after 8 years. Amazing piece of worl
Boys when they see a train with the locomotive numbered "1225"
Bro this gives me some nostalgia😊
In reality the PE had no chance. *it’s an 80 TON STEAM LOCOMOTIVE AGAINST RAW ICE.* what did you expect?
This is amazing! You did a great job on this!
Even as a kid I knew this was bulls**t, but it did look really cool.
Ah yes a pin that weighs 1 gram cracks ice but not a 700 ton steam locomotive
lovely work, regardless of memes it rocks all the same
This is a awsome Animation that you brought the polar Express Back, and also the Coaches i think thery we're from someome else Like Thes Coaches Ar Not from this model locomotive the creator dit.
GET US THE BLAZES OUT OF HERE!!!!
this is seriously epic dude!
I was expecting them to either slam into the ice wall, or get dragged into the water about 3 seconds after the engine got back on the tracks.
must say one hell of a job takes time and effort to being things to life
0:03 [train chugging] 0:13 [train chugging, brakes skidding]
0:17 spy dabbing, didn’t think I’d notice?
Amazing work my friend but one thing, I’m pretty sure the polar express locomotive was a 4-8-4 and the model you used I can only see 2 pilot wheels. It’s either you couldn’t find the right model or I’m just dumb.
No, you're just dumb :) Even in the film "nerdy kid" says the loco is a 2-8-4 "Berkshire". The name "Berkshire" refers to that very wheel arrangement.
@@FlyingScott Sorry i had the Victorian Railways H class on the brain XD i may have been researching on a sleep deprived brain
Awesome!
Good Work.
This is The BLU Express
Please do this with a bigboy
Nice.
Can you make of those great locomotives video on the Great Northern Railway Sterling singles.
DISCLAIMER: The Film is entirely owned by Warner Bros and Castle Rock Entertainment.
Soviet train bringing supplies to lenningrad ( 1941 ) colorised.
Remember if this was real all there would be is a crack and a splash
also at 0:16 the conductor (spy) dabs
What railfans do in their spare time
Hey Flying Scott, where did u get the ice lake map?
It's a simple snow void actually :)
Drift express
Bruh polar express is wheelslip like sound is car
I remember this. I think it was only two to three years old when this movie came out. but now as an adult I have noticed something with the original that is not in this adaptation. during the original scene when the driver's leaning out of the cab you don't see the connecting rods moving! But when it cuts back to the connecting rods they are moving!
just a detail I spot that isn't in this one thankfully. It's a very faithful Recreation.
I Love The Polar Express And I’ve Also Heard About The Flying Scotsman Steam Engine, And Also Love It Just As Much As You Do
O:17 dab
Should have done Soldier and Engineer for Crew, otherwise quite great :D
Why Soldier?
@@FlyingScott Bit addicted to TF2 Animation Railroad Redemption. They used Soldier and Engineer as crew.
This is so cool!! One of cinema's all time greatest scenes. Doesn't it make you also appreciate Mr. Zemeckis' camerawork?
Excellent. Using sfm myself i know how hard this had to be.
Oh I love that movie.
