7/28/20. I just purchased an Okuma 10-11 wt SLV , and can tell you the quality and details of this reel is outstanding , I wanted to get back into fly fishing after being away from it for 15 years , went into the tackle shops around our area and priced fly rods and reels and almost had a coronary, I went into a tackle shop that didn't carry a lot of the high end rods and reels and found the Okuma SLV 10-11 wt for $64.99 & a 9' / 10wt. Ugly stick rod for $49.00 , you don't have to pay big money to have big fun , I will be purchasing a smaller Okuma reel in the near future , great product great price ! 👍🏼
Exactly what I did. I'm left-handed so I have one set up for right-hand retrieve and I set one up left-handed for my kids. With backing, line, tippets, and a couple flies I got into two saltwater rigs for under $400. I couldn't get into one "name brand" setup for that. I am also getting the SLV 5/6 for a lighter rod. I totally agree, great product, great price.

7/29/20 . Just put the backing line on my Okuma SLV 10-11 fly Reel I put 350 yards of 30 lb. Dacron plus an Ovis 10wtf fly line on my reel , manufacturer called for 520 yds of 30lb but I don't think it will fit , 350 yds fills it just right ! Time to go catch me a Tarpon ! 👍🏼

@@hotactioncustoms7008 ,I’m trying to get a 14’ ft three seat glass boat older Johnson motor and trailer and turn it into a flats boat set up ,( was a boat builder for 32 yrs , now retired) but I’m facing resistance from the war department cause I just bought an older Toyota suv to pull it around , I might have to buy 10 tubes of chap stick. Just to kiss her azz enough to pull this one off 😳 , I really wanted to get out there to catch some poon but I don’t know if I’ll make it in time 🤔 If I can swing this ,are ya interested in building a poling platform ?
