We came into the Stirling Ranges National Park with the intention of doing multiple hikes and enjoying the stunning scenery in the area, this however wasn’t the case of what actually happened.

Love it, what a video. Epic hikes and I like the dedication to not be defeated. It is something that makes me push each day. Even with life, and the kids. I tell them to push, have dedication to learn, fail, learn why you failed and push. The more you fail the better you become.

Allan, you put us onto North Storm and we love our waterproof bag.
Another item for your backpacks when hiking is a pack of matches to burn your poopy paper.
Northstorm bags are great, never had any issues with ours 👌
Matches / lighter is a great idea, didn’t think of that 👍

Strongly recommend the Zoleo unit. Mine has worked flawlessly over the years. Bluetooths to your phone, uses an app to text when in and out of signal, has the SOS function, breadcrumb and map, also sends ‘pings’ if you wish 🤘

We can completely understand the defeated disappointment, that would have been a tough decision but agreed it would have been super sketchy. I think I give up several times on hikes and push on and always worth it, I’m sure you know that feeling too.
(By the way yes we’re having a rare “slow day” and on a good ol ExploreOz binge sesh 😂😂 miss u guys!

We really did want to push on and complete the hike, but without being correctly packed and organised for it, it wasn’t worth it. But that’s ok, better safe than sorry.

Great video on the trek and the gear you use when hiking. Just wondering what shoes you wear when hiking on the trails , as looking for hiking shoes. For a PLB device look up the gme accusat or the zoloeo Zl1000 as have read some great reviews on these 2 products , but there are a lot out there.

We are both currently using Keen hikers and they are doing the job great. I personally haven’t had any issues with mine (Targhee III mid), however Jess’ is currently having some troubles with a couple chunks of the soul coming apart.
I’ve is added the GME and the Zoloeo to the list for research, thanks so much for the suggestions 👌.
Where and you heading when you come over in June/July?
@Explore_oz Thanks for the feedback on the hiking shoes, I will look into them and we are going to either head across the Nullarbor to Perth then up the coast or will head across from the territory then come down the coast haven't decided. I have booked two nights at Bullara station on the 28th June so I didn't miss out , but thinking I might do another night or two there. Then we will just do free/ low cost camping for the rest of the trip. Looking forward to explore the west as we have never been, so will just be taking our time. Hope to catch up for a beer
@@craig3113 Bullara is a pretty cool station! Are you there for burger night? We did it two years ago and had a fantastic time. Plus there is plenty to explore around that area.
WA is probably our favourite state in Australia to explore, it's just so big and you need so much time haha. Taking it slow is the perfect approach.
Would be great to catchup for a beer for sure :D
