Four Russian tanks destroyed by a single Ukrainian missile ops

- Ukrainian army chiefs are showing off the remarkable destruction of four Russian tanks in as many minutes by a single missile operator.
Newsflash obtained footage of the devastation from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) last night (Monday, 25th April).
The General Staff of the AFU said: "In four minutes, four tanks were destroyed.
"Calculation of Stugna-P.
"Izyum direction."
Newsflash also obtained a statement from the Joint Forces Operation reading: "In Donetsk and Luhansk directions, Ukrainian defenders continue to defend our land.
"During the current day, 25th April, the Joint Forces' troops successfully repelled six enemy attacks. Thanks to their skilful actions and prowess, our soldiers inflicted losses upon the Russian occupiers.
"In particular, Ukrainian defenders destroyed four tanks, five artillery systems, 13 armoured vehicles, 15 motor vehicles, two fuel tankers and one anti-aircraft gun.
"Air defence units shot down two planes and three Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles in the sky of Ukrainian Donbas.
"Ukrainian soldiers continue to bravely and heroically restrain the aggressor's invasion!
"Together to victory!"
The Stugna-P is a Ukrainian anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system developed by the Luch Design Bureau, which is headquartered in Kyiv.
It was famously used earlier this month, on 5th April, to down a Russian Kamov Ka-52 attack helicopter.
Izium is a city and district in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine. The city of Izium is currently under Russian occupation.
From 2014 until 2018, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) was called the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
The ATO was a military counter-offensive launched by Ukraine against pro-Russian forces in April 2014.
The footage of the multiple strikes comes as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow later today.
The meeting will take place amid the warning by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of the "real" threat of World War Three breaking out.
Lavrov also said there was a "considerable" risk of the conflict escalating to nuclear weapons, but Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba responded that his Russian counterpart was just trying to "scare the world off supporting Ukraine".
Russia earlier claimed responsibility for the destruction of six substations powering Ukrainian railways, which the Kremlin said were used to transport foreign weapons.

In case anyone's wondering why the writing is in Arabic, the weapon they're using is the Stuhna-P, a domestically produced laser-guided missile. They were mostly produced for export with a large shipment due to be sent to Iraq, but in the wake of recent events, they've had to put that deal on hold and have been using the missiles themselves.
Great advertisement for their product, at least. 🇮🇶
Thanks, I was wondering about that.
Instead I think there's a Saudi prince barking at the phone because his toys are late...😅
That do not explaine the arabic text on the vid
oh!that explained my curiosity about the writing in Arabic. 🤔
For those wondering. The reason they aim above the targeted tank before firing is because the Stugna is a laser targeted and tracking missile and Russian T-80 tanks and some other Russian vehicles are equipped with Shtora-1. Which is a piece of equipment used to warn crews that there is a laser pointed at them and then the system can actively jam the guidance laser. Aiming above the tank until the final few seconds doesn't' give Shtora enough time to activate thus rendering it useless.
Thank you so much for your knowledgeable explanation.
This is amazing if its true and you arent trolling
I think you are wrong. The reason is some rockets hit the groung at early stage of the flight. So they aim above, to give rocket some distance to reduce its fluctuations.
Thanks general Duffey
So why didn't the other three tank open fire on the Ukrainian position?

The terminal speed of the Stugna is 200m/s. The flight time is aprox 11 seconds resulting in a range of 2200 meters. Even with modern tanks it's not easy to spot a small missile launcher (hidden) at that range. It dosen't emit light, thermal energy or anything else.
It does emit thermal
It seems to operate similar to The American BGM-71 TOW

This is incredibly impresssive. It has never been this dangerous to operate a tank.

It's worth noting that the Ukrainian Stugna-P anti-tank guided missile is used here. Not very advanced, but still very effective against Russian tanks.
We see the remote control panel with arabic inscriptions, which means this one comes from a batch originally intended for export.
This video steals glory from the Ghost of Kyiv which took out the tanks.
Ukrainian ATGM Stugna is perfectly suited for the predominating Ukraine landscape and should be properly considered the main weapon of this war. The launcher itself is hidden behind the hill and operated distantly, so both operator and weapon are completely safe from Muscovite attacks and even detection.

"Muscovite"... I have rarely heard that term outside of Mikola Gogol's books. :)
Brak przeciwdziałania zarówno Piechoty przeciwnika jak i namierzanych załóg czołgów.

The launcher has to to have line of site to target. The operator can be behind hill but only about 50 meters away. Still a good system
Nice Shoot's guys. Slava Ukraini
Interesting that you can see the interface on arabic language. This is due to fact that these Stugna systems were produced for export order of some arabic country. The last batch of launchers was produced when the war started, so all the systems intended for export were redirected straight to ukrainian military, without relabeling and changing the language of interface. Operators were trained to fire it on Ukrainian interface byheart, so they know what it says without translation. (There are many videos with same system in green camouflage with ukrainian interface for comparison. It looks the same).
After such performance they can expect increasing their initial order and more sales around the world. :)
Thank you, I was wondering why the Arabic script.
On the other hand, Russian tank orders may be a little thin in the future… (except perhaps from the Russian government).
Thanks man.
I noticed that too, which makes it all the more remarkable that the Ukranians use them so efficiently.

It’s “yest”, “есть”, and it’s Russian for “it is”, and means “we have it”. Yep, many Ukrainian soldiers speak Russian, despite absurd Kremlin claims of coming to liberate the Russian-speaking population…
@@mykolas3587 yest indeed!
Who told you they are destroyed ?
@@cte4dota After getting hit by a Stugna missile you can be sure they're not functional for battle anymore, in military terms "destroyed" doesnt actually mean blown to pieces, it means its damaged such that it can neither function as intended nor be restored to a usable condition in an acceptable timeframe. If they're using a RK-2S warhead then any Russian MBT would be destroyed, it can penetrate 800mm of armor behind ERA, if they're using RK-2M-K thats 1100mm behind ERA, enough to knock out any tank on the planet.

There used to be a saying, "Death from above", referring to the effectiveness of attack aircraft. Now it's "Death from anywhere". I would not want to be a tank commander in this day and age, looks like the most dangerous job ever.
"Death from above" still applies if Ukraine were facing for example the US, Russia is just incapable of establishing air superiority due to its soviet era technology in aircraft lmao. Not to mention how disorganized and undisciplined they are, i dont even think they know what "combined arms" is.
@@bender0428 it's crazy because when the Russians reformed and reorganised their army the whole idea was to have groups that could act independently , each group being its own army that could 'do it all' . Hasn't worked out .
Good to see those ATGM teams improving. When the war started, you'd see them firing with the crosshair on target, accidentally bouncing the missile off the ground due to recoil. Now they launch it up and then lower the crosshair on target. Ukriane is producing some deadly skilled soldiers.
Noticed the same. I think that they do that as well to keep the target “clear” insight directly after firing. The rocket fumes and heat create a blurry image. Now they adjust on the target when the missile has some distance. Learning by doing!
Keep up the good work
Slava Ukraini!!
Is it me or did he miss twice. Seemed like the missle went over the top of the tanks?
@@rolyrodriguez1000 They attack the top of the target. Cunning technology.
Thank you. I didn't understand why they did that. But there was obviously some thought being applied as they did the same thing consistently.
Yeh noticed too. The elevation keeps target clear after launch, keeps missile off ground, then they lower the aiming marker onto target...smart.

for the idiots saying that is staged cause the tanks don't fire back... go outside your house right now and try to spot a target at over 3 kilometers . even a car can barely be seen unless it moves. This teams have 2 operators that control the console and a portable laser and a team of people on a downward slope behind them in a wide trench or river bank so they shoot from below the horizont line. To spot this team you need to be able to see 1-2 people crounched dressed in camouflage at 3+ kilometers away. good luck with that..
It seems very effective
But "it is staged" is the explanation to anything Russia does wrong. Rape = staged, bombing of train station = staged, Poisoning of Navalny = Staged... what is not staged is the sheepishness of the people accepting this comforting explanation as being true.

The Stugna is ridiculously outclassed by the Javelin. Same engagement purpose, but inferior in every conceivable metric to the AAWS-M Javelin FGM-148 (with exception to acquisition cost).
Nevertheless, the fact that the system is even being compared to FGM-148 says allot about this Ukranian-designed system. Taking out four tanks in under four minutes is damn impressive, and shows that Ukraine's defense industry can stand toe-to-toe with anything from Russia.
Not true. Stugna allows for remote operation that provides more discreteness and safety for its operators, and costs ten times less than Javelin. While Javelin flies faster, penetration is the same for both.
Unlike the Stugna, the Javelin is entertaining to use. It's small, compact. Kinda like a bottle rocket, only it destroys tanks! :) America makes warfare fun again! :P
Now if you're going camping and you just happen to see a Russian T-14 driving around while you're setting up your tent the only thing you have to do is mount the Javelin on your shoulder, pop a rocket in the thing, aim, and BOOM. Tank is dead...
Stugna is cheaper and is perfect to setup an ambush, you can deploy 3 or 4 tripodes at safer distances by wire. Javelin is more brutal and effective but exposes the shooter to enemy fire. Differents weapons to archive the same goal in different ways and different circumstances.
If fighting war on a budget is a priority, then we can say that this Stugna is superior to the javalin, plus it is domestically made so transport is cheaper and quicker.
@@John-rt1yx Don't forget the scary wait for the Javelins's imager to cool or the minimum range.
Astonishing that the crew remained static throughout the engagement yet were never fired upon by the tanks, who didn´t even lay down fire in their general direction nor did they maneuver to get out of trouble. It seems to me the tank crews are either poorly trained or they wisely bailed right after the first vehicle was destroyed.

Their training has been shown to be extremely lacking as well.
And we pray this trend continues.
Not only that, training is an issue for sure, but what a lot of people are misunderstanding about this is that when you are attacking or moving, you may (should) get infantry support. But when you're not moving you can't just pile up at the same place so artillery can attack and get all of them at the same spot.
And you can't just stay in and burn gas as you're waiting. It's probably freezing in those metal cans when there isn't any engine going.
So they spread the tanks, and hide them in the trees/forest or behind buildings. The crew may not be in, they probably dug trenches around, but they are not far for sure.
But then I'm not sure why people ask why they do not retaliate. The crew does not live in these 24/7 especially when they are waiting for orders that could come in days. I mean it takes time and the right equipment to know where the attack comes from and you don't want to be in these when you're hit, so it would be suicidal to jump in and look for targets after the first hit. Surprise attacks are incredibly effective, and this videos shows how much it is in real life.
This isn't a video game. At least not for the Russians in this scenario.
they weren't moving because their crew abandoned them already
@@martmet8688 Interesting, thanks. For some reason I thought there would be people in those tanks but your explanation makes sense.
@@JasonD-yc3oy exactly what I think. If so they should have reuse them if the Russian do not have sabotage them

It’s a very accurate rocket system. You can see before the rocket is released he aims above the target then slowly come down on the target as the rocket nears. And none of the tanks retaliated because it seems that the men are too far away.
Or the tanks were unoccupied. Probably abandoned or ran out of fuel.
@@golden.lights.twinkle2329 I believe you can assume that the missile sight has thermal capability (In September 2018, it became known that Ukraine has received more than 100 Aselsan Eye-Lr S thermal imagers, which will be installed on Stugna-P installations). In that case if you can see the tank as a different shade than the background you may as well assume it is occupied, since it would have to be recently abandoned to have a differentiating thermal image.
The tanks have laser guidance defense systems that can block laser guided weapons, so bringing the guided rocket in last second doesn’t give the tank crew enough time to respond to it.

According to Ukrainian government officials, the Russian plant manufacturing these tanks can deliver up to 50-60 tanks a year. We are talking about taking out a month worth of production (in a matter of 5 minutes) and it is only if they have foreign components to make those tanks!
Apparently the two major Russian tank factories ceased production within two days of the announcement of "special economic measures designed to help Russian people avoid the pointless and wasteful consumption of items produced by Western capitalism."
Who cares, they are cannon fodder. No chance vs modern weapons. Russia is just thowing even more money away.
Their production is completely stalled right now due to the sanctions.

This is definitely an anti tank war...it redefines how the javelin really works well and also the anti tank missions and training. Truly amazing how technology and training can redefine millions in steel armor plating reduced to rubble in seconds.
