well... a wise man once said: "Boeing didn't buy McDonell Douglas... it's McDonell Douglas who bought Boeing WITH Boeing's money" and "this is what happens if you put accountants who are so focused on making profit in charge and making the shots instead a proper engineer" i guess it's bye bye Boeing then?
Having your life dependent on a choice between the company that makes planes that fall apart in flight and the company that makes cars whose batteries explode is terrifying.
What's that saying?..." Oh, how the mighty have fallen " 😂. Current Boeing execs have managed to somehow destroy an aviation legend with very impressive upper mismanagement to the point that their reputation may never fully recover. Space X is landing one rocket after another vertically (which many thought could never be achieved), and Boeing has barely managed to send a single test crew to the I.S.S. (years late, and now..one that can't leave).....Pathetic.
Let´s hope they´ll return some day. That is a problem. I refuse to fly planes becouse they can´t stop if they have mechanical issues. With a car you can open the hood let it cool, some DIY repairs, take a hike with a jerrycan. This space ship is next level broken vehicle problems. I gues I ain´t goeing to space either, only walking, driving and sailing for me.
This analysis leaves a little bit unsaid. They could, in theory, fill up the cargo space behind the four seats in the current Dragon capsule with some foam and blankets and stuff and strap in with bungee cords. Dragon was initially designed to carry up to 7 astronauts, but that capability hasn't been demonstrated yet and the extra seats have not been installed. This wouldn't be a particularly dangerous option, but their Starliner space suits wouldn't work with the Dragon systems and they wouldn't survive a pressure loss. This is unlikely to be a problem, but NASA has always been risk averse in this area. However it would do in an emergency. The question is which is less dangerous: Starliner or Dragon?
Vladimir Putin could offer to rescue the lives of the American astronauts on humanitarian grounds... All NASA and Washington have to do is politely ask. 😂😂😂😂😂
About time Boeing stopped building aircrafts and sarted building toilets. Still a chance people will trust them for that but they have to make that shift quickly.
I constantly wonder if the main problem is with Boeing or SpaceX... In 90s-2000s C++ language had most problems/lack of evolution due to Java, but not because Java is a good language (it's more or less what you get if you poor a lot of advertising money into a failed product...) but because Sun (the former owners/creators of Java) employed a lot of the programmers that would otherwise work on C++ compiler/toolchain/evolution. So it does make me wonder how much of Boeing's decline is due to not being able to keep the talent (due to salary squeezing and other "as cheap as it goes" measures) and how much it is due to them trying to throw good practices out the window in order to keep more profit for the stake holders.
NASA needs to be properly funded and managed and leaving the lives of astronauts in the hands of profit driven corporations is a bad look not to mention problematic. Safety must be a priority not a luxury when it comes to space travel and exploration.
So, they are stranded. Hope MSM keeps the news on .... or maybe they will never mention it again and people will forget. They will tell the families, they died as heroes!!!!
And they claim to have landed astronauts on moon ( drove a vehicle up there) and brought them back home way back in 1969. Even a layman can see something just don't make sense here. If they had capability to perform such difficult mission 55 years ago, this type of mission should have been simple routine by now. Isn't it?
If the Moon landing wasn't real, Russia and China would have exposed that truth years ago. Russian and Chinese probes have photographed the entire day side of the Moon many times.
@@timonsolus. If the russians or the chinese would have exposed the truth, they couldn't prove it, so why bother? The americans never went to the moon!!!!!

Boeing reputation is in the toilet right now.
Failing & Flayling left right and center. Good God. Don't step foot in a Boeing, you're life is in grave danger.
Their SLS also not doing so well.
Boeing's business plan is to fail.
Boeing said nobody mentioned anything about return trip 😅
🤣
Boeing: the doors didn't fall off, I call that a win
Literally, the doors fell off the starliner
Imagine booking a Boeing for a round trip to Mars...
I know you had to leave an "Imagine comment" but... yeah? Do you have a point?
Wishing them safe return their family members are worried😥.
No they aren't. Both astronauts are ones that have spent months on the ISS in previous missions.

Boeing
Call it a DISASTER.
I'm cancelling my ticket to colonize Mars.
Having your life dependent on a choice between the company that makes planes that fall apart in flight and the company that makes cars whose batteries explode is terrifying.
Spacex doesn't make cars...
With how things are going, maybe it'd be better to just stay off of earth for awhile.
Dust off one of the old space shuttles 😂
Hopefully they have enough supplies
Impossible. They are no longer mission capable.
Good thing they got there
They can t get people back from the ISS yet they want to colonise Mars😂😂😂😂

with the trust in Boeing, they will return soon. Boeing is excellent company. no whistleblower can survive
Only if nasa asks Russia, but even then I don't think Russia would be interested
They would do it without gloating. Soyuz can be sent with empty seats

What you are actually proposing is dangerous. They could just send Crew Dragon with two empty seats. That is the proper way to do it

Boeing again
Hope there is a plan C
I am convinced the capsule was a Boeing Starliner MAX! 😂😂😂😂
Maybe the ISS doesn't pay back its cost of operation anymore.
The anchor should be careful he might feel some negative thoughts suddenly.
Not enough duck tape to return to earth 😂
You pay for an 8 day trip, but you got a year long trip. Let's call it a bargain.
If they can't use that craft is it possible to eject it off the station when it's done
Sure, I believe in NASA and Boeing. Just get them back now

Ask China for help
Maybe it needs the space overcapacity from China.
Just let SpaceX do it now and be done with it already. SpaceX could toootally do it sooner than 8 months.
