I don't think my mom ever tried her hand at sewing but when I was little she would knit clothes for me. She'd let me pick patterns and colours that I liked and let me help with decorations too, just like your daughter got to design some of the embroidery on the skirt. I probably didn't have much of a concept of how much work went into knitting a piece of clothing but I do remember there was a very special feeling of having something be made with love just for me. I feel very lucky to have my mom, and I think your daughter is lucky too to have a mom who would put in so much work to make something so beautiful for her!

I was mostly using chain stitch. I liked chain stitch because it doesn’t show much on the back :)

I got this particular one at a thrift store, but I think you can find something similar by searching for “flower trims” or “rococo floral trims” !
