    This is, in my opinion, the new "value leader" at the $200 price point. For 1080p gaming for the next 3 years, this is the card to buy.
    That being said, as an alternate option, the AMD RX 480 is another great choice and as I explain in the video, is a perfectly fine option to consider as well.

    Your last comments about multiple monitors, but only one for gaming, is EXACTLY the information I have been looking for and just couldn't seem to find any reliable source to confirm the performance wouldnt drop much. thank you for the really in depth reviews! You're one of the few channels who doesn't just repeat all the information that I can already read on the side of the box. subbed recently and I've just been watching all your videos, amazing stuff!

    It would be great if you could do a comparison with an i3 vs i5 + gtx 1060 3gb, what cpu do we need for this card in the latest games. On paper the i5 is obviously a better option, but I'm wondering how much performance do we lose in latest games with the i3 if any.
    Is it worth spending like 80€ more (which is a lot) on the i5, instead of the i3 for like 10fps more or something like that, how much do you gain with the i5 ? I'm really interested which one would be a better price to performance deal with the gtx 1060 3gb.

      z4v3k if you are into building PCs just go with the cheaper one (i3) because you are going to change it in a year anyway for a new model . In other hand, if you don't want to change processor for some 3 or 5 years then go with the more expensive one i5.

    • @hanialkadi3551
      @hanialkadi3551 8 років тому

      z4v3k I also want this exact comparison. but after some research I think i5 worth it. Game like GtA V doens't benefits from Hyperthreading. No difference between Pentium and i3 in GTA V. So i5 is definately worth the extra money

      I already have an i3 4170 and later in the future I can still upgrade to an i5 if needed.

      an i3 will run this just fine for most games, but on some really intense ones you might have to turn down some settings. It depends on what i3 you have, some of the higher end skylakes perform amazing. if you own an i3 then get the gpu and upgrad to i5 later..

    Really love how detailed your review videos are. I've actually been using this card for couple of months now and stumbled on this video, but I watched the whole thing anyway. It is hooked up to a 55" 4K Sony TV. Some games I actually get very acceptable performance running at full 4K, like Grid Autosport with V-sync on it'll do low-mid 50FPS. Rise of Tomb Raider at medium at 4K gets 30'ish FPS.

    One thing I wanted to ask. I can tell you are a very knowledgeable person when it comes to computers, so could you possibly address the EVGA VRM temperature problem?
    Edit: Never mind actually, this has nothing to do with this "deal" thing of this channel. It would be out of content.

    got this off amazon prime delivered same day, for $235 after taxes. Ridonculous performance increase from previous GPU setup. One AMD 7970 used a 6+8 pin connector and I had it crossfired.
    this bad boy only uses an 8 pin connector. worth it so far!

    Great video! :)
    Just a small question if I may: Now - February 2017 - which card is the deal for the same price (~200$) for 1080p gaming and some future proofing, and why?
    - GTX 1060 3GB
    - RX 480 4GB
    Today the Radeon driver got way better than it was 1st back in July 2016, and it is also better for DX12/Vulkan API (future) games, furthermore the only difference between the RX cards is the size of the VRAM, while the 3GB GTX1060 has 5% lower performance, than the 6GB BigBrother.
    From a 1080p performance PoV, is GTX1060 3GB < RX480 4GB < RX480 8GB ? GTX1060 6GB true? Maybe the answer should be separated to DX11/DX12 ...

    Question, im leaning to buy this card instead of the ASUS model (although im still a bit unsure) . But will my standard 1080p TV plug in ? I know it might sound silly but im clueless about things like this. If so which port would it be plugged in?
    Also would you go for the 3GB or 6GB model?
    Here in my country (Sweden) the 3gb model goes for about $285 and the 6GB goes for 360-380 depending on store

    I only have one intake fan at the front and one exhaust fan at the back, my case is medium sized but I am afraid, that this card would block my airflow... The space for my GPU between the back of the case and the cage for SSDs is 31cm, this card is 28cm, so it would fit technically, but like I said, the intake is below that and I am afraid the card is too large and would block the airflow to my CPU etc....
    Do you think I'm still safe to use it?

    Hello,
    I have a quick question. I know and heard from your previous video that you can't buy all of the cards from every series. But what you think about Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce OC 3gb? It's clock is the half way between the basic and Evga SC which means 1556 MHz.

      I'd suggest not worrying about the numbers that much. You're highly, highly unlikely to ever notice a difference between *any* of the GTX 1060s when actually using them.

    Can I use Zotac GTX 1060 3gb Mini card with Intel core i3 2120 @3.3Ghz ? Will I face serious bottleneck ?
    Please answer !

      Quite a considerable amount. Alot of games like the Witcher and newer titles from the last few years tend to reach around 45-60 fps on average

      Hey thanks for the help ! So if I buy a 1050 Ti , I will be good right ? Atleast I will get the performance I am paying for ?

    • @passionlipalterego8338
      @passionlipalterego8338 8 років тому

      Amit Roy Personally I think getting a new CPU with a motherboard will be worth it. Of course it'll be more expensive but on the long run you'll see it's value. The 1050ti is considerably slower than the 1060 3GB (around 60%) and it's more for older prebuilt computers or very old systems with small PSUs

      Amit Roy one last thing..what card do you currently have?

    • @GamerInVoid
      @GamerInVoid 8 років тому

      Both of you guys thanks a lot for helping out. Let me give u the whole idea !
      Currently I am using a GTX 750 Ti 2gb DDR5 .
      I am looking to upgrade. But I am confused between GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1060 3gb (VRAM is a bit worrying though) . So if I get the 1050 Ti , I know my processor would be okay, but getting the GTX 1060 , I will have to take atleast an i5 and a new mobo for that, which in India, would cost around $540 in total (GPU+Processor+Motherboard) , whereas upgrading to the GTX 1050 Ti would would be much less cheaper !
      So please suggest guys !

      At 1080p, no bottleneck. At 1440p the graphics card will _start_ to be the bottleneck. At 1440p and 144Hz the graphics card will definitely be the bottleneck. I run a GTX 1060 @ 1080p on an i7-2600k and my CPU is clearly the bottleneck (but I still get ~100FPS).

      If you want to play games at ultra settings then you'll need more than 3gb. Plenty of games already use more than 3gb. What's the point of buying a mid range card if you already have to knock down the settings to not run out of VRAM ?
