Yeah, mate. I was thinking back on the annals of my life, observing Pop Music since my childhood years in the mid-1970s, and other than Bono Vox (Paul Hewson) of U2, the only modern Pop Rock Star I can think of after Bono was Mr. Hutchence. Hutchence, from my purview/perspective, had that Magnetism that you find in guys like Mick Jagger, but even more charismatically so. What a pity that Hutchence died so young at the age of 37.

Probably a Coldplay would be the closest! Chris Martin has so much fun on stage, he knows how to engage the crowd. But yes, nothing like Michael Hutchence
Yeah, it was the 80's and 90's. Balls to the wall and didn't give a fuck. All about the party. Live and let live and have a bash, glad I was in those times and got to participate...
This single performance is better than anything done by any band or artist in the last 10 years. this is the real deal. Take notes kids…this is how the professionals do it.
I've always thought Michael was/still is the best male vocalist ever. Very few can sound just as good or better live as in the studio. (Steve Perry is another.) And he was humble, never had to tell anyone he had the best voice ever because all he had to do was sing to prove it. He had the goods, no need to advertise.
my dad was there and he travelled all the way from Australia to see it and he was in debt for 2 months and he never regretted for a second and it’s clear to see why. Damn what a band! And the come from the great southern land!
Three brothers in the band. All the members knew each other since they were teens. Incredible chemistry and passion! One of the best performing bands ever, and Michael's voice is incomparable.
No cell phones recording. No TikTok live streams. Just dancing, jumping and singing along. This is how it was. It’ll never be this good again watching a live performance.

I am a front man singer in a band and I look at Michael Hutchinson as the pinnacle of what a lead vocalist should be. He and INXS will always be a New Sensation for generations to come. To me Hutchinson was like a Freddie Mercury but with a rich baritone voice. Amazing live vocals and just an amazing presence. You can’t take your eyes off of him when he performs. Wish he was still around to amaze people.
Absolutely agree. He is in synch and locked in. Jon is driving this song. Love the way Michael plays off of the downbeat from Jon's drumming. This is absolutely one of the best live performances of a rock band ever. The band is is tight and they're into it; you can tell they're feeding off of the crowd. And the crowd - wow, they've become part of the band. The crowd is pouring all of their emotions to these Aussies and they rock Wembley in London, almost half a world away from Australia. Have been a big INXS fan since day one. And I'm almost 67. Love it, simply love it. Wish I had been there.
Like Freddie Mercury, he could sing rock and roll fast, hard and loud, but with a beautiful tone and real emotion! Not many of those singers ever existed! RIP and may he be remembered for his talent more than his beauty and his damage! He made it sound and look so easy, and we know it couldn't be easy or everybody would sound like him and they don't! My husband was a rock turned jazz musician but he had heard from Everybody what a great live band INXS was--and yet we never made it to a concert.
Is this not one of the best live performance of a band anywhere, anytime? INXS kicked ass in London at this performance. And the drummer; this guy kept the song going and established the beat from the first note. A great band. Love their music!!
