As Great as it sounds... i cant shake of the Feeling that the Song became Slower after the Bochum revamp 2018... It doesnt sound/feels as good as before... In London and Bochum
@@gartenmensch1895I'm the same, but it makes sense when you're there. The slower tempo means each beat lands heavier. I'm a bit concerned about the responses the new album is going to get, because when I saw this production I thought the musical changes suited it, and its atmosphere, really well - but might not sound as good out of context on a cast album as the "New" album did. This is the sort of thing I meant. Guess we'll find out soon!
@@DemonTomatoDave Yeah, Im really intressted how the whole stuff sounds. But Sadly the Slower Tempo doenst make it in anyway heavier in The Bochum Production
If you’ve seen the show or just remember generally before then you’ll remember that during the opening song ‘rolling stock’ all actors come out singing and the flags in the background are used towards the end of the song.
Agreed - but theyre really just there as set dressing. because their new designs are more indistinct and they havent had their introduction, they have the same function as race marshals in this song - the focus is very much not on them!
what a song to listen to especially when your in the theatre
0:04 It was at that moment, before my very eyes, this production of Starlight Express was making some BIG changes!
Ngl this is one of the best versions of Rolling Stock in recent times.
I find it interesting that they remove the international engines.
But still reference Greaseball as being American.
It’s a bit strange that Greaseball is still known as the US engine, but she’s very clearly a Toyah Willcox copycat
From what I know, this is to avoid issues with other countries. They have subtletly acknowledged this in the Bochum shows nowadays.

The original was slow and then the revamp in 92 made it faster etc so its went to the original speed.
@@iamelectric8525 Thanks for the clarification! Sad that they changed it back

Why are the components here? They serve Electra not Greaseball

@@G4D5D3N but it makes no sense in universe because Electra isn’t introduced yet
