That's utterly nonsense, because you can't tell from the license plate which drive is ultimately installed. All PHEVs and, in the case of Mercedes-Benz, the all-electric EQ vehicles receive a registration plate with the "E" at the end, which grants these vehicle types a few special rights. As soon as the suffix EQ appears in the model designation, it is always an all-electric Mercedes-Benz.

The software will not be nearly as good and I am positive BMW will be the better choice with their Neue Klasse model to rival the Model 3.

mercedes is struggling a bit with their BEV sales. i hope they make good progress with this one and also reach a good price point.

Thanks for your comment, but these two prototypes were full electric. The combustion engine CLA prototype has a different front camouflage.
