I just wanted to say thank you for your videos! I’ve watched them all and just got my first order of silver to practice with. You’re so sweet and kind for sharing your knowledge and techniques with us.
Great video. I have always loved your content and most of all your upbeat personality. Please please please make a video of the entire space! Thanks again for great content and inspiration.
Thank you for sharing! It just amaze me since I found you your evolution in any ways...sharing your acquisitions...sharing your knowledge and experiences...you are a source of inspiration...🥰
Hi lovely lady. I’m currently waiting for my Durston bench. It’s on back order as Durston are super busy with demand - also not helped by the virus but hey ho I can just wait and look forward to it. Thank you for your video it’s very useful.
Hiya Lady Stardust, how are you both doing? I love that bench! I'm sure it will help you to create many masterpieces for your adoring public... That's my point I guess, tools help but your brain creates, OK at least yours does... Love those new stones... You've organised so well, a place for everything & everything in place. I think I would find that soldering shelf a bit low so on the top looks good. An engraving tool? Can't wait to see a video on that or are the engraved bits on the wales etc done with this? You are very good at slipping in a sneak pre-view of something then a great reveal. Keep up this fantastic work please it helps us get through & I agree with Cel, it is sweet & kind of you... OK It was fun to see my name in print like that... So thank you for all... Take care & stay safe...
Thanks for the tour, well organized, I should be so lucky. I notice you are using the Dremel hand torch. That's the same one I use and I hate it. I lost two very expensive torches, so I grabbed this one. Is cheap and that's what it's worth. Please give me your honest opinion
Wow, that's so different to my experience! I really enjoy using my Dremel torch, I've had it for years now and I hasn't been broken once. It's been enough for the amount of work I did until now. But I would much rather use proper big torch, but unfortunately can't do that yet. Once I move, I will buy Smith's Torch yay! :)) Thank you for watching! :)
I'm still in the beginning of my journey, I hope the time will reflect on that bench and all the work I will be able to do there 😍 Used equipement shows the magic of progress and all the hard work that went into the crafting process 😀 Can't wait to have mine in a mess too! haha
I loved watching this video, it's a good one, as always! x My bench is very very old, but the shape is quiet the same, yours has more drawers and I would prefer that too! I believe this bench will probably be one that you can pass on to someone else when you retire some day, it looks very high quality! Oh and look at the merch shop here! NICE!!!!!!
Thank you so so much Karolien!! I really appreciate it 😍❤ Yes, I'm hoping this bench will stay with me for a very long time :) It's definitely moving with me to a new space! But I would also love to collect some older, second hand furniture and tools, like you 😍
hahaha oh I feel you! I was the same :) The chair I used was a regular sviwel chair with wheels and adjustable height. The ones they sell for beauty salons and barbers etc work great! Now I have a regular desk chair from Ikea, also regulated height and on wheels. Stationary chair is a no no in my case. A chair that moves is best for you in this type of work and bench!
@@journeywithcc2624 the normal set-up is for the bench peg to be in the middle of your chest, that way you're not always bending over and doing your back in long term. Steve...
Love this! Question I truly want that bench but I noticed shipping to US is over $700! I was wondering if you know where I can find it with less shipping cost or similar ones?
I didn’t see the link website from your video about where I can order a burton bench. I live in the USA but will the company send to me if I order and if you can help send me the link website to where I can buy the exact bench like yours.
Hi Basia! Wonderful video as always :) I am thinking about getting this bench but I have quite long legs! I am about 173 cm.. is there plenty of legroom under the lemel drawer? Thanks!
Hi Lilie! Thank you so much for watching dear ❤️ The bench itself should be good for your height, but you might need to make the cut out like I did. It was in the way of my legs (I'm 164cm), so I believe it will definitely be the case for you too. And you probably could skip that foot rest underneath, which is also kind of in the way for me. The foot rest isn't supporting the bench in any way, so adding it is optional. Other than that, I think you would be happy! 😊 Hope that helps :) If you want to see more how the cut out looks like, DM me on Insta and I'll show you the photo! xx
ugh, that's so frustrating that suppliers don't ship there! I hope you will be able to find supplies and tools locally. Thank you so much for watching and sweet comment! 😍❤
hiya flower that bench is one very smart piece of kit, it will last you for years, would you be so good as to send me the sizes of it please more so the hight as one of my tables has seen better days and it is time to put it to pasture, take care keep safe keep well.
sure thing! Height is 1010mm and length 1240mm, more dimensions are in the product listing on Durston's website durston.com/product/superior-workbench/ Thanks so much for watching Albert! 😍
@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing I thank you so so much only one fault now I will have to start making a new bench recycle a lot of the old one you keep safe keep well take care and thank you again.
I've gotta say one of my favorite things about your videos (aside from your amazing creativity, I could never come up with the ideas you do) is the simple fact that you pronounce the L in solder...
Cookson also has outlets in France, Germany, and I think Italy, as you may know, they sell a lot of Durston products, including this majestic bench, I have the three draw one. Steve...
Totally agree, this is an older video of mine, I hadn't realised what the movement would actually look like. I'm definitely going to make sure it's much slower and calmer in a new workshop tour video ❤️

Really enjoy your videos. What do you think the best kind of artificial lighting is best for jewelry making?
Sorry, it's a late answer but I use LED lighting. The Foredom light that goes on their flex shaft holder, I love it...

Your favorit color is green tosca isn't..? 😀
One of my favourites, yes haha ;)
Hey! I’m just starting out making jewellery and was wondering if I could practice with a cheaper metal than silver? What would you recommend? Xx
Brass works nicely. It’s what my teacher had his students practice on using silver solder. It goes into the pickle pot just like silver.
Everything is lovely. Too bad nothing of that comes here 🇵🇪 especially the lovely bench ✌️ looking forward to you making art.

Not sure why they charge so much for these. The top is pieced together scraps of work Not really a nice top. I could see $250-$300 tops
The camera continually floating around all over is distracting and a bit nauseating.
