Hi! I have never tried the more powerful saws from Stihl but I am still very happy with my 241. I used it yesterday to clear a horse trail and to cut up logs for firewood. Glad you are happy with yours too!
According to Stihl the 251 has 2.2 kW and the 241 has 2.3 kW. But the 241 feels much stronger and accelerates like crazy. It actually feels stronger than the 271. I actually sold my 271 shorty after this, had no use for it any more!
@@NilsKall If i'm not mistaken the 271 runs .325 or 3/8 and the 241 runs 3/8 low pro/pico which can make a big difference in speed of cut, perhaps that was part of the equation of the 241 feeling faster?
aeridyne yes that is true, the 241 has a much thinner cut/chain so it will not struggle as much cutting. I also mentioned it in the film I believe. If the 271 had the same chain as the 241 it would probably be the fastest.
@@NilsKall I saw a vid of a guy putting 3/8 low pro on the 261, I'm sure that would really fly! Although I kind of question 4.0HP with a 3/8 lo profile chain, especially pushing 14k rpm! I don't think I'd do it out of safety concern, although it surely would cut very fast.
I sold the 271 a while after this test, only have the 241 now. I can highly recommend both of them, if you find a used one for a good price that runs good it might not be very expensive. On the other hand, I bought the 271 when it was on a sale in 2016 for 650$, sold it 2020 for 400$ so the cost of ownership was really low.
I have a few Stihl saws, 440, 660 and 880. The saw I reach for first is my 241c, so light and powerful, in the real world you don’t need much more

261 M3.0 also very good
Good review 👍
Thank you!
Even though they have have equal HP the 241 seems faster than the 250, interesting.

241 has mtronic and less rotation mass
14 bars on all stihls ?
If I remember it correct, yes, they were the same lenght. I think....😁
If you decide to sell I’d love to own it

The yellow one the chain is way to tight .
Yeah, it was a bit tight. It had not been used for many years either, its more of a backup saw.

Buon anno nuovo Nils
