@@suakeli You don't know what you ask, traveler. My strongest domes will kill an engineer let alone a man. You need a keeper that keeps weaker domes, because my domes are too strong.
Such a nice concept for a game. My personal hope would be a more automatic tower defense mechanic where you can gamble on whether or not you can let the AI handle it or if you have to intervene yourself
This is what I was hoping for. As it stands I find the defence bits really boring
@@djking44151 I could imagine that they plan on adding additional dome setups via updates and since they already got one "AI controlled" element (the paralysing laser) maybe they'll add a dome that can be upgraded accordingly
Well guess you are lucky then...
The latest biiig beta version added new gadgets and domes. One is a drone dome, you can buy drones that collect your resources for you AND you can buy drones that spawn automatically when the fight starts. In the early to midgame this suffices easily to come late to the fight (where you can use your weapon dome, the drones are of the supplemental dome type like the orchard or shield). On top of that we got more dome supplements, e.g. you can have buzzing saws on top of your dome that do melee damage, an electrical spire to shoot down enemy projectiles, auto repair, hull hardening, resurrection dome etc.
The latest beta version is really really good, spent like 50h in the last two weeks with it! Mostly due to the new hard challenge modes that you can complete for shiny rewards (unlocking hud elements permanently, giving you three upgrades to choose from instead of two and should all suck, you can unlock the reroll ability).
Highly recommended to give it a go now, cant wit for the full release. :)
I'm begging for this to become a series
Having spent 13 of the last 22 hours playing Dome Keeper, I will say that the game does have series potential.

This one 40 minute video is all it took for me to get hooked on Dome Keeper. Downloaded it today, already at 3 and a half hours.
I remember playing this game when it was an entry to the Ludum Dare game jam. Cool to see it has gone on to become a full game.
This is the kind of game that unleashes NL's full potential, we need more

This video is a classic, 9/10 rage content.
This induced a level of rage that will drive most mortals to play the game.
Contributing factors include the complete unwillingness to buy certain upgrades, constant repetition of "THE MOTHERLODE" every time resources are found, and the drillbert saga. The cherry on top is the incredible psychotic mining that scratches my brain in all the most painful ways possible.

Been loosely following this game since it went by its og name of Dome Romantik, its changed so much, the art style which was already perfect has seemingly only improved as well, love to see it.

Not one bald joke? But for real rare instance where I left after 5 minutes because this game looks right up my alley and I didn't want spoilers, I'm going to come back and watch it after I play around for a while in it.
if you're about to die, you can leave combat into the "computer" menu - it pauses the fight and allows you to heal.

NL you can pause and go to upgrades during combat if you need to heal your dome
@Northernlion Try digging horizontally until you run out of stuff before you go deep so you can waste less resources on the drill.
I can totally see challenge runs where people don't turn on the "time till next wave" upgrade

NL, please look at the uses for Cobalt - it's pretty much just healing and some upgrades to make your Dome tougher. There's no need to save it up.

Hmm... a "mother load" is a really different thing from a motherlode, though. I think I'd be offended if one of my friends called me that first thing.
Dome Keeper is really cool but very barebones. Needs more content and it would also be a nice multiplayer game if you could play with other people and take turns defending and mining. You have very little time to do anything and not that many options in customizing your defense and strategy. I finished a run in 30 minutes and there weren't even enough resources on the map to get to some of the higher tier upgrades.
10/10 joke within the first 25 seconds of the video, you love to see it

It's insane watching the last fight as he kills none of the little jumping enemies in time and wastes his shot not hitting the big ass enemy
what's even more insane is that he didn't heal even though he had 7 cobalt with almost no upgrades that needed cobalt

This seems to be a bump up of that flash mining game.
It is absolutely a bunch of rehashed concepts thrown together... but they got it so right. Also the soundtrack is decent.
I was thinking about buying this. Glad to see NL playing it, even though I know he's going to do something dumb. If I keep watching him, I'm going to end up getting his hairstyle.

Fully upgraded and fed treats Drillbert is fast, turns around when he hits a wall and goes for ages. Unfortunately he takes way too much of your attention, and thus time, to be good.
Would be awesome if there were a custom start mode where you could just play for fun with pre-upgraded stuff. Would love to set him lose right from the start of the game.

That's the first time I've seen anyone fail a run in Dome Keeper, good to see it's not as easy as other streamers make it out to be
lmao fair. NL did manage to die on the easiest difficulty by ignoring the fact that he was falling behind the power curve. higher difficulties are no joke, though.
Its an upgrade to the old Flash game "Motherload" wonder if it's ending is the same.
I cool tip I learned is that you only need to tap the fliers once and they wont shoot for that whole cycle.

Dead by daylight is one of my favorite games, so the cameo was a treat. I would love to see NL ruin his life to that game.
in my experience of about one and a half hours playing this on brutal, get drill 2 it helps so much more than the rest, jetpack speed feels kind of lame, maybe carrying capacity will fare better, lazer 1 is probably my go to upgrade for wave 3 and if you find the thing that finishes the run its likely that you can ignore the timer and go for it (at least if it is about 25% or more left)
I really want to pick this game up, but I feel like it would land comfortably on the shelf of "games I thought looked really cool when NL played it, but for whatever reason I just lost interest in really quickly".
It's low on content for sure.

Pretty sure you can heal mid-wave. You could in the demo, anyways.
