Then again, that could have very well been because he was hamstrung by a HS-level offense coached by the 'mastermind' Matt Canada. We'll see how KP8 fares (in a better offense) next season.

Despite the false hope of spring, he’s a decent qb and could be really good if he ever learns to stay in the pocket and step up. Shame we Steelers fans only got to see him in Canada’s terrible offense.
Well thats the thing we dont blame it all on Canada. Even with a bad cord. you should see flashes of QB1 material. You just didnt get that from Pickett. Couple of 4th qtr wins but that was pretty much it. Doesnt process the defense to quickly. Pocket awareness neds work. And he doesnt have the confidence to throw it down field. Good dude just wasnt the right fit for Pittsburgh. Nothing but the best to him tho in Philly

Lots of lazy playing , and routes by receivers that didn't make sense. People don't realize Frisman Jackson their WRs coach got fired as well, and for good reason.
@@stullsy21 i'll give you that. But how much is that a lack of confidence in your QB to get you the ball in space or just plain out over throwing them or under throwing them? Its a collective effort...team sport. But if the WRs Line and others dont feel confident about who is executing said offense its gonna cause these failures to perform. Just as much as them losing faith in Canada. Weeks and Weeks of low scoring is gonna tear them down. Lack of authentic leadership at the QB position is what we are missing. Ben brought the leadership. We need that back. A QB thats gonna hold his offense accountable for points and execution. Russ i believe has that. And i feel he can Give those traits to Fields. Kenny in my eyes wasnt a 1st round QB. maybe 2nd 3rd rd. He has alot of glaring holes. Now asking for a trade just screams character flaw to me. Self entitled, im a 1st rd pick i should be starter regardless attitude. He didnt have anyone to mentor him really besides coaching

As a Steeler fan. Kenny wil be a very good back up. Say what you want about Kenny’s stats, but he can win you games, he has like 8 4th quarter comebacks in his short career.
Kenny Pickett was a legend at our alma mater; I graduated with Dan Marino class. Now, with that said, Eagles Fans got yourself a bonafide gamer. He's tough and was screwed over by Tomlin/Khan. I'm gonna buy his Eagles jersey and wear it to Pitt Panther football games. F Mike Tomlin, F the Steelers, and F Art Rooney 2nd ( his grandfather is turning over in his grave !). Who is there to throw to, anyway? This team has no legit WR1 who excels close to the goal line. In other words, this is a dysfunctional offense whose statistics suck pretty much across the board. #8-8-1

is that Pickett got shafted by the Steelers when he opted for tight-rope surgery to his ankle. He was probably given assurances that he would resume his duties but that didn't happen. In retrospect, he probably felt connived by them. Who wouldn't, the risk of surgery versus rest and rehabilitation? He's better off in Philadelphia. The Steelers have become a kooky organization.

If my belief that Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada held back Kenny Pickett turns out to be true, the Eagles may have pulled off the biggest steal over the past 10 years. (But that's a big "if".... )
I do feel bad that he has to sit behind Hurts until who knows when but I’m excited to have a quality backup. In ways other than his pigment he reminds me of pre injury Wentz
What quality is there in Pickett? He was an unmitigated disaster in Pittsburgh. He threw 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He was on the way to giving us our first losing season in almost 20 years, when Mason Rudolph saved the season.

Most of his picks came in his first few games coming in cold off the bench as a rookie QB3.
Also, quite a few of those early picks hit the receivers right in their hands and they couldn't hold on. And if I'm not mistaken, Pickett holds the Steelers record for consecutive passes without a pick. And Bradshaw had 3 times as many picks as he had TDs his first year.
I don't know (and I don't really care) if Pickett will ever get anywhere, but it just gets soooooooooo f***ing tiring reading the same comments from people twisting the facts. Lots of people just like you were screaming to get rid of Bradshaw the first few years, too.
When Pickett sees Barkley, Brown, Smith and Goedert on the field, he'll think that he died and went to football heaven. The Stillers have no such talent at that side of the ball. Not even close. Plus, the Eagles actually pay for real assistant coaches. Imagine that. #8-8-1

He has some mobility and can roll out and he does have a decent arm. For those that were looking but he threw quite a bunch of picks in his two seasons; so this makes him a decent back-up if hes receptive to Kellen Moor's coaching.
I think almost half of the picks he threw was before the bye week in his rookie season. He's better than numbers show for sure. He just played in the worst offensive system that I can remember as a Steelers fan
The one thing he does well is not throw picks
He actually doesn't throw a lot of picks. His biggest issue was consistency on easy plays and pocket presence/awareness. His strengths are that he takes care of the ball and can make some really nice throws and he is more athletic then what people think. He can spin it though.

Almost every highlight was a L and he probably finished each game with 150 yards 1 pick no touchdowns
His win-loss record over 2 partial seasons was quite favorable.....and that was playing under THE WORST OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL. The Steelers under Canada were the only team without a 400-yard game in the 3 years he was OC. They FINALLY fire Canada and with just a couple days to prepare under makeshift OCs, Pickett and the rest of the offense looked fine and had their first 400 yard game.
And many of the games he played in...he played hurt because the o-line was in shambles.
I don't know if Pickett will ever be great, but it would nice to see Pickett get a chance with a real coaching staff. But I do know that it gets real old seeing comments that twist the facts.
I'm glad Pickett and Rudolph got out of Pittsburgh. They both deserved better.
