Thanks for the video! I’ve been obsessed with this game for the last two weeks. It’s really something special and I wasn’t expecting that. Very excited to see more videos like this in the future on UA-cam.
I can speak German fluently and tbh, it just really enhanced the game for me I think. The fact that most german text flashes on screen as quick as it does makes you able to only read parts of it most of the time and when the rest of the game is in english, some random flashing german words can truly creep you out lel
I knew little German, but every time there's a digital distortion scenes cause by corrupted Kolibri and fighting Falke, the big red bold "STIRB" flashing on screen impress me the most. It tells you to "DIE"
"This wierd dream again, Deja vu! It's true that i killed my Geshtalt... and yet, I am not his murderer." Great video. Please do more when you feel like it. ❤
gosh I love--hate having played EYE to completion before this game because the gate in the snowy prologue immediately made me think "huh this looks like that limbo area in EYE" and it never left my mind playing through the entirety of Signalis
This is a very neat review of SIGNALIS! I love it. :) I've always wondered how a German speaking audience would react to this games scattered German text.
8:44 I heavily disagree with the idea of enemies having different screams, simply because the "standard enemy scream" is actually Falke screaming at you through the enemies via her bioresonance.
A heroe's journey :) A knight in sh....g elster armor :) The cycles are complete in the [redacted] ending... the completion of the story :) ...start, synchronicity, room :) Its a masterpiece :)
I am fluent in german and it lost nothing throught it. There is no additional mystery when not understanding it, since almost all german text with very very few exceptions (some passages in the secret end and Kolibri text) are translated. For me, it even added something. The bold, controlling, invasive and cold messages of propaganda, heavily inspired from east german times while germany was split, left me not with a sense of alienation, but of eery recognisability, overall being a reference to how history is always being forced to repeat itself, the forces pushing towards the reality portraied in signalis always having already been present, being present, and always going to be present. It's a mirror, a "hey, seem familiar?", coming from a german team. And this same feeling one gets, even when not from germany, from the setting as a whole. Workers in tight little groups of perfectly similar people with their perfect niche and their perfect kind of recreation given to keep them working, disposed of or thrown into one way missions into space if they don't fit. Citizens not as individuals, but as numbers, governed by people who could not care less for the individual tragedies this inevitably leads to. It seems familiar to everyone, has always felt familiar and will, sadly and likely, always feel familiar.
Despite not having an ultimate understanding on Signalis. This game was such a work of art and find it heavily inspiring, artistically. After finishing two playthroughs. Safe to say, this is one of my new favourite indie titles.
I actually decided to give this game a chance just as the Summer Sale came along. And now it lives rent-free in my head for the foreseeable future. I can only admire how they created something that feels straight up iconic even when it's just one indie game.
This was the most refreshing and entertaining review what I’ve seen recently about anything. So unique and matching the game’s atmosphere even without playing it. Thank you.
I feel that even talking about Rain World goes against the atmosphere that the developer intended. The best i can do is to recommend it and advise people to stick to it, as while the beginning might seem somewhat obtuse, the journey is definitely worth it.
Amazing game! I agree about the inventory, so many runs back to the storage box where just one more slot would have sufficed. I also thought the Evangelion references were a bit blatant towards the end, but I can't complain much as I'm a fan and it was cool to see anyway!
You gigging abit on the harshness of the game but I loved the video. Never heard of the game until I play through and I loved it. It is very hard to come back when you put it down but it is so worth it
This is a wonderful channel, you deserve more Attention, could you possible make a video on the videogame Peripeteia, I'd love to hear your take on it!
Thanks! I played the demo back when it was released and had it on my wishlist since then. Didn't even think about making a video about it, but i guess it does fit my style, so if the release date doesn't overlap with anything else, i will try to do something with it.
I didn’t have a problem with ammo, I had thought that it was going to be tight so I saved pretty much all my ammo for boss fight, needles to say I had a shit ton of ammo left at the end.
Or you don't know what angle of survival horror the game is trying to do, so you don't fire a single shot while holding your bullets, because what other game in the genre has limited your max held capacity for ammo?
The best review of Signalis I've seen so far.
"What is originality... but something that time forgot?" Excellent writing. Subscribed.
We will be watching your career with great interest.

It really stays in your mind long after you finish it, right?
@@AkashicMemory despite being a gay android love story, the story still hits close to home and shook my heart.
Not everyday you get to witness a modern day masterpiece of a game release. So glad I picked it up on a whim
Truly a gem in my opinion 😍

Good point, but they could still do different sounds and base it on different feelings from Falke or something.
Damn who ordered this Kino?

Fantastic review. I agree with everything that was mentioned here. And thanks to this, I discovered Blame!
I also recommend "Biomega", by the same author. It carries the same energy as Blame!, but the plot is definitely easier to understand.

The gate outside Penrose gave eye vibes, and then there were more. Love both games.

8:35 the only way you can reach the bullet limit in a single supply run is if you already took some with you which is a very poor decision.

@@AkashicMemory who takes their bullets with them if they arent backtracking to a room where they know you'll have to fight
Someone who was packing because he though he was going to fight a boss but ended up going into another room in the way and tried to pick up more ammo.
@@AkashicMemory boss rooms are ridicilously obvious to predict two of them were giant holes
which you don't know until you encounter the situation, just like the ammunition limit
