Bleak Faith: Forsaken - No Man's to Blame
Discovered your channel last night and gotta say I love the videos. I would have expected you to be way more popular with the quality of the videos. I’m gonna stick around so hopefully you keep it up and make your big break!
If these romps manage to entertain even one person, that is more than enough for me. Even so, i still hold each and every supportive message close to my heart.
Happy new year! Stumbling upon your channel and binging your videos made my 2024 a bit brighter 😊
Really appreciate the sentiment. I will try my best to keep that going into the new year!
@24:00 He suspected linda wasn't his biological child and wanted to physical to his wife because he was afraid she was going to leave him because of unsure parental lineage.
Right now, there's at least two other games stuck in my head on what the inspirations for this are; Phantom Dust not included. The dev is really talented and this is an amazing culmination of several ideas as usual. Malicious, that's the game I was thinking about.
Remember when they were rebooting Phantom Dust? Like cancelling Scalebound wasn't enough for them... The problem of garnering an audience for obscure vidya is that no matter how coy i try to be, someone will quickly see through my shit. Anyway, expect a video about that as soon as i get a capture card or when Alvion decides to port it to the PC.
@@AkashicMemory OG XBOX PTSD intensifies... <Insert incredibly big anime smug face here> Will eagerly wait for that.
Did your voice die on you? Take it easy if that's the case. 2024's been rough. As for getting introspective, hell of a time to do so but also appropriate. End of the year stuff tends to hit harder. As for Sonic...not much to say.
Your channel is really great!
Binged the hell out of this game. Happy to see someone making a video talking about it.
Obscure weird scary jrpg? Thought i clicked on a marsh video :))
This video reminded me I wish listed this back in October after finding it in the Steam Discovery Queue. Glad about it too this game was fun as fuck.
Whoa, it's the Nitro Rad intro voice!
For those not aware, it's the "Whisper" effect from an old text-to-speech software called MacinTalk, which would eventually get used in No More Heroes.
Omg you need more subs This is amazing!
I wonder how you even came across this game. And I wonder what's the last song used.
I had this on my wishlist so it's was either from Indie Live Expo or i stumbled upon it on twitter. The game currently doesn't have an official soundtrack release, but this is the first track that plays when you start the game and in the files its called "bgm101_Op".
Great review. I want to say that most modern games of today don't step foot into this type of story telling anymore. The only other game with this tragic of a story is probably nier automata. This type of game can only be appreciated by a niche group of people, and with the costs rising to make a modern game, it probably isn't in a company's best financial interest to produce games such as fragile dreams, which is sad cause there is alot of heart (storywise) that went into this game. I believe one of the creators of this game was a psychologist, which explains the lore, stories, and overall crushing feeling of loneliness throughout the game.
Wow, now that's an interesting game!
Comfy video as always. Funny how Nine Sols is GOTY to everyone who actually played it. I loved your story about the final encounter. The last boss genuinely took me an entire week to beat, and now I feel like I could beat all of them without getting hit. I plan to replay the game from time to time, and frankly, I’d rather have them focus on their next project instead of a DLC. The game already feels complete. What an amazing experience. On another note, I like that every time I think of an "obscure" game to review, I see that you’ve already made a video on it-albeit with an entirely different tone and pace. If you ever feel bored enough and you check out MY vid on the game please let me know how you perceived it. Thanks. Looking forward to your next vid.
Based Antonio Banderas, Onimusha 3 video when? Don't deprive people of Jean Renault action! Your stuff is definitely more entertaining and easier to recommend because the mood is fast and loose, while i fall into the bad habit of taking my sweet time telling why something is good. Keep it up, 'cause you got something special there.
@@AkashicMemory Based youtube not sending me a notification for your reply. My friends would disagree, they enjoy slower narration that's more on point :) As for Oni, I have a mental roadmap of topics that I wanna do and Onimusha 3 is there, hopefully in a few months lol. They announced a new game at VGA's. Glad to see you getting traction and subs. You deserve it and it's something for me to chase.
Love this game, thanks for covering it I think I’m like 60% and planning to continue as soon as I’m done with my JRPG fatigue from Atlus and Legend of Heroes games
Just hearing "Legend of Heroes" is enough to give me JRPG fatigue, certainly not a series for the faint of heart. I swear i will go through all of them someday, but it's likely that will only happen when I'm retired.
Thanks for the recs brother, great video
Well the dev certainly succeeded in making a jrpg that breaks the cliches.
I had so many trauma and rage flashbacks of this stupid game that I both laughed and cried with your summary of your play through. I also don’t know how to feel about this game. I absolutely hate how difficult it is and yet there were times I enjoyed playing it. Somehow it’s nice to know there were others that were suffering from playing Chaos Legion, and that I wasn’t the only one going insane from replaying the levels over and over just to level up your legions while gritting my teeth, telling myself I’m having fun.
thank you so much for this video! i just found out about this game today and wanted to know everything lol. god bless for sacrificing your sanity for this haha
Insane, not only predated gta 3 open world, but somehow ran on ps1. Great video BTW!
Damn I love this game I kind of lean more towards this one than the sequel sometimes the humor was a little too much
I played Shadow Hearts 2 then one and then three. While three is very different and felt a bit more about the game play than the story I did enjoy it. Just my two cents. Loved the video. Thanks for the memories condensed down into 3 hours. Shadow Hearts 2 was one of the few games I 100%. Still have all four disks for the three games.
I will probably play it eventually, but maybe only after a year or two for myself. Although i am really looking forward Penny Blood now that i went through the main trilogy.
Jesus Akashic I didn't expect you to dosh out a multi-hour video like that!
SPOILER Since you mentioned "no seriously what is the answer here" to the last document tube, you seem to be looking for numbers in the open spaces of the room. The solution is the detached walls within the room. (714)
I actual forgot to look up the solution back then, so i appreciate the reminder. It's incredible how knowing the answer only makes me feel more stupid now for not figuring it out myself.
bro Famicom/NES Contra is Legendary not this shit what u show...
i would say it looks more like stryder to me tho.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
I remember playing this game over and over, to get all the upgrades in Uprising mode. I think I got most of them except the 30 lives ones for each character. Having the ability to deflect shots and using the samurai girl was a ton of fun
My Xbox avatar rocked the outfit from Hard Corps from the moment it released until today.
Let it be known that on this day, i was finally given the opportunity to play on both the "Mini ride-on" and "Upright" cabinets. Despite the high difficulty, it was amazing and i hope i can return to it one day.
This looks awesome. Love Yojimbo, love the Dollars trilogy. Samurai and cowmen are truly a match made in heaven. Great video!
Damn I slept on this. I hope they re-release it for switch soon.
I've spoke to an Arc System Works representent from Europe in july and when she asked me what Arksys games I like, she was surprised I named Hard Corps Uprising. It's such a good game but I can only play it on my old Xbox 360 sadly. Please, bring it to PC so I can buy it again and play without the hassle of plugging my old console.
Probably due to the fact is was running on Taito X2 arcade board Engine ...which does suck but cost effective for them. Not super sure but I think it was developed on Taito X2
😮 this was the best xbox 360 game
Great game, if rereleased I would like to see a dual stick control option..
Hardcorp was definitely my favourite back in the day
Brad Fang takes the cake for me! Man, I would love a modernized Contra Hard Corps for Consoles and PC with the Unreal Engine 5. Either this.,. or an expansion of the Hard Corps Story. It's payback time! Brad Fang
I used to love playing this game, I platinum it a decade ago
The "Clear all missions without dying" will forever haunt me.
@@AkashicMemory man i had to restart some missions like 20 times im getting ptsd 😂
I would love it if hard-core uprising got put on the PlayStation five that would be awesome. I have it on my PlayStation 3, but I haven’t played it in years.
Damn weird! Thanks for the essay! And including so much of the cutscenes, having a hard time finding the OG cutscenes so thanks so much!
There's a playthrough of the original back at Niconico if you want to check that out. Just search for "[PCE] Linda³" and you should be able to find it.
Would buy this in a heartbeat if they rereleased it. This and bf3 are the only reason my ps3 is still plugged in.
It's a fun game. This and gunstarheros were my fav.
Guilty Gear x Contra
My PS3 is still holding onto this gem
Same here
This game is such a blast...among the best so far this century...
I pray for a re-release on PS5. This is my absolute favorite Contra game and was never topped imo.
I haven't played this yet but really wish for a PC version as well.
It definitely influenced Contra Galuga in a big way! Air dashes and double jumps are a staple now!
OMG! Contra 4 with a CRT shader is just wow 🤩
