Very nice which country are you
I love that you understand the concept - different textures may require a special braiding method to boost volume and avoid breakage.More importantly- you seem to fully understand healthy hair care matters! Keep rocking out!!!!
PS ...You said it, "Arrangement!" - is the foundation of any hairstyle. Make sure it compliments the person's face and arranged accordingly!
I lost my hair because of locs.. I've had them for about twenty years. Due to me having beautician that didn't care what would happen to my hair , because my hair was so soft. I developed bald spots . Also my locs popped. I had to get all my hair cut off. My locs was very long. It's so hard trying to go from having hair to now being bald. . It seems you are very good at your profession. You take pride in what you do. It's too bad that there are not many beautician that care are take pride in what they do. GOD BLESS YOU.
Same happened to me had to cut it all off
I got bald spots from locs too, cut them off Oct 2020 taking best care of my hair that I can and have about 6 inches of growth now
@@ivyalston7277 Good for you. I cut my hair right before Christmas of last year. I still look scary. I'm taking better care now. I just get so sad when I look in the mirror.
I think your hair was naturally thinning and your beautician was also pulling your hair too tight
YOG
Same here. I think I had too many people doing my locs. They all used different techniques and my hair was soft too. Mine broke off too. I'm still bald it's been almost 12 years now. My bald spots have not filled in at all
These are absolutely beautiful. Instant locs without using the coil method which easily unravels. This method does take much time but the finish is exactly what most people are looking for. Americans may use the interlocking method but majority of people who start dreads use the coil method and not enough people back comb or use the needle. I've been trying to find this method in Las Vegas Nv for 10 years. It's just not available because most of our people don't know how to do it or don't want to invest the time to do it. Amazing job 👏🏽
I've seen men do instalocs and interlocking ( men stylist). I believe I've seen men do it on the islands. Most people in the states get comb coils or two strand twists (like me).
This is called interlocking this isn't new African Americans have been doing this for years... you did a great job perfectly neat..
Yes
Sure have
So maybe in AFRICA its different! A different saying, a different method of locing.
Ok, so maybe in AFRICA its different, a different name, a different
@@niccolethomas4591 But it’s not a different method, Hence the comment that this has been done and it’s a popular technique 🤷🏽♀️Also common sense will say of course the name would be different Africans speak a different languages than Americans.
This method I installed to my own hair 1 year ago and I have spongy or frizzy hair and it allowed me to wash my locs immediately. It doesn't unravel like comb coils where you have to wear for a month or two before washing for fear of them coming loose because natural hair takes a while to truly loc.
I need someone to do my hair like this. I had locks for about 8 years, it started thinning in the front...some were too tiny and they broke. Beautiful job you did❤
Right I just cut them and I'm gonna just do interlock or just braids liked my dreads but they started thinning so I had to start over now my hair is back thick again
Where is this man from
Are these temporary locks or permanent?
Such beautiful work, I want to find someone in my town to do this to my hair
In my opinion your spoken English skills have greatly improved over time, and I always appreciate your videos ~ So far I have learned how to braid my own hair with especially with afro-kinky extensions whenever I want to! Much love from KLA
✨just a suggestion ✨you may consider hiring someone to personally write up the sub-titles/captions for your videos, the automatic sub titles that UA-cam generates do not do you justice, and they are really important for those who may rely on them from other countries / those who may have a disability ...
Your right dear
@@MauriceDaCrochetmaster where is your hair salon?
...Good viewing
Please after locking like this, a week a later the body becomes fat on my clients hair (is it normal ? Or am I doing something wrong ?? (Fresh instant locs like this )
Good suggestion
I love love love to watch your videos. I understand you clearly and for the ones that can't, rewind and listen intently.
Yea I am 44 and I have been doing locs since the age of 15. This technique is called interlocking in America. Many people have different names for the same style. I learned from home, Chicago, my mom and sisters and aunties here in the states. I later went to school to certify and inhance my skill.
Hi so you can style it i do gad locks
Hello! I want to start locking my hair. Please what products do you recommend?
Wow!!!
That was awesome and her hair looks beautiful 😍!!!
You truly have gifted hands .
👏👏👏👏👏👏
This was really nice. One of the best videos I've seen so on dread installation so far. My only issue now is that I don't have anyone to part my hair..
I just seen someone on You Tube pay to have her hair parted in individual/single box plaits.
The hairstylist parted her hair then braided her hair maybe a quarter way down - to less than half way down. The lady went home unbraided her hair one section at a time & added butt length hair extension, one section at a time.
I looked back at my history it was “Nola Viva” She added Goddess Passion Twist to her own hair.
hope this helps.
THERE IS NOTHING DREADFUL ABOUT OUR HAIR...THEY ARE LOCKS OR LOCS...WORDS ARE POWERFUL💯✨
Traditionally, the term Dread was defined as: 'Regarded with Awe; Greatly revered'
This was the definition that our ancestors were using when they coined the term Dreadlocks...rather than remove the 'Dread' from 'Dreadlocs', we should re-educate our people and show them how to stand tall in their unique hairstyle...because our hair inspires awe and is to be greatly revered 😇👑
Facts!!!
Loved this video. I have wanted to wear locs for sometime now and I am convinced. Would you please do a video of this customer when you do her retwist on her next visit. Thank you.
Good idea... I'd love to see the retwist too plz! 🙏🇰🇪
crochet = “kroh-shay”
you are indeed a master ! you make it all look too easy ❤️
I don’t know what people are talking about !! I can understand his English just fine !
There is a similar technique used to loc straight hair that involves back combing. I'm not surprised to learn that it has African history. Thanks for sharing.
Most hair techniques has african history .
Please come to New York
I LOVE HIS WAY OF TEACHING IT HAS HELPED ME ALOT IF ANYONE IS GONNA BE SARCASTIC OR DNT LIKE HIS WAY OF TEACHING MOVE ALONG DNT COMMENT HIS WAY AND SOMEONE ITS WAY CAN MAKE IT GREAT💛
Exactly.
Beautiful Job bro
Finally a channel that have the real dreadlock method ❤
Thank you for this video. I started my daughters locs without knowing this. If I had, I would have arranged them better
I got your video. Was easy to learn. I've look at several but was comfortable with yours. It was just like you were holding my hand. So clean and neat. Thank you.
Her facial expressions (she is beautiful BTW) is priceless.🌹🦋🍓🤞🏾

Amazing. Many thanks for this lesson and tips. My crocheting on locs are about to step up many levels. Ase King
What are the items he spread on it I mean the name of all the items he use
Would Love To Get This Done..I Crave Locs For Years Now..😍
First time I came across this channel ..Blessing of the Almighty be upon you .
You did that style so beautifully. A d it was relaxing to watch. Make me want to come to you for my locs. ♥️
Thank you dear for sharing you are the best Africa Hair dresser bless you
If I knew where you are I will always come to your salon to do my hair
Me too
Very nice. Her hair texture can loc easy with many other ways but the hold and the neatness is key.
This is an interesting method, they're neatly sectioned and all the same size. Gorgeous, but a lot of work! Would that brushing back cause breakage? The hair must stay moisturized.💛
This is the route I want to take this time, I've always started with the twist and then went into crocheting when my hair got longer. But I'm older and don't have the patients to be doing my own dreads anymore. I want to start off like this and which will allow my hair to lock faster.
It is a good job my siz but also Crocheting retwist is the best coz after all when you interlock you will find your dreds have not and not smooth
Good job. I love seeing such natural hair styles 👌
I really want to learn I did my momma's loc for her but I think my parting wasn't good at all this video is very helpful I've watched it for three times thank you sir
Ancient/Traditional methods keeps their true craft Alive.

Wooow
Love this lock install method with the crochet tool and palm rolling!❤😊 Keep up the amazing work! Blessings to you.
This is gorgeous. I wish you could do mine. If you are ever in Jamaica, let us know.
Thank you so much Maurice, I've loved your crochet, but would also want to learn how to make butterfly. May God bless you.
Just come across your channel you're really a crochet master,🌹🌹🌹
I'm so much in love with how you do the dreads
Thanks dear for teaching interlocking nature hair ,I love the way u do the ending of it
I just wanted to say I don’t know what you might be going through Or what situation you’re in right now but I no god is there for you and he loves you God bless everyone who came across this🇧🇸
Well done dear this is beautiful work may God almighty bless the work of your hands 🙏💪
This will make the hair thinner. Because when pulling the hair through the dread again, you are sparing the dreadlocks into two separating/ dividing the top of the dread into more sections and it is still one dread at the bottom. And the more you continue to do the more you break down the dread lock. And more weight will be at the bottom.
Mr. Maurice I really want to meet you to give me more tricks about hairdressing. I also plait hair yes but I did not want to use the hairdresser because you are my master in this field.
thank you Maurice thanks to you I have mastered the method of locks you are a pro of the pros I adore you
Ihave learnt more about you whenever igot aclient to plaint concerning dreads iremember videos of you and do my work.thanks so much keep that spirit
Wow your hair is healthy I bet it grows long without having to loc it, it’s impossible to keep locs hair clean
But it’s hassle free, ……scratchy texture, Try a wash and set with rollers you don’t even need a relaxer
To be honest,I never seen someone interlocking first then crochet after. This seems like the perfect way
I only know this method- interlocking with backcombing to be used on Caucasian hair, or really soft loose curls. But I may try it.
I’ve taken m starters down so much..i love this method he used..it gives me inspiration by interlocking first
@@squirl2011 this method would have helped my 3c hair stay locked… my sides and back would unravel if you looked at it😂
I love , her locks, God blessing you . one just to come in Tanzania my friend
The products are going to cause build up long term, and too much manipulation of the hair which will cause thinning of the locs long term as well.
Great work. So satisfying to watch...🤩
Nonetheless, Africans have been using tools to interlock hair for centuries. The fact that is over here. Am so certain techniques just proves that it’s in us to be artistic and it’s just in our dna…no need to compete or say who did what first! We are the originators of sooooooo much. Just embrace it and know we are the ish! Good job btw! I will be using this train my daughter. This is the only clear tutorial I have seen where I can actually see what they are doing.
Wow ....you made it so simple ,you are good at it
Thanks you very much for teaching, l learned alot because l love hair dressing 👍👍👍
And your hair model is beautiful as well!
I have never seen starter locs like this before 🥰🥰🥰 If I would have known of this method I would have kept my starter locs
I just love hearing your voice my bro!
I love your technique but using the beeswax 😬. It's not water soluble so it will cause buildup in time. Do you use anything else but beeswax to retwist locs?
Very important point you mentioned
@@Cindy99765...thank you 🙂 . I've been locked for over 10 years. I had a couple of fails using certain oils or retwist products. Wax I used in the beginning stage and I felt how hard it was to wash out and down the line, I started using coconut oil to retwist/moisturize...omg that caused buildup in my locs for years 😕 so I had to start my journey again. So now, I use products that are water soluble to retwist and rose water /light oils to moisturize my locs.
Beautiful and I love the way you explain
Big up
Good work 🥰
Thank you so much dear, you have been so helpful with the finishing mmmwaaa for you 👏👏👏
These locks are great. Please what kind of crochet do you use and number? Thanks
Beautiful! She reminds me of Cicely Tyson…
your voice is so relaxing , nice work !
Isn't this a recipe for breaking the hair when it comes to detangling the locks?
4:08 That's why locks are permanent. If you want a temporary look go for crochet extensions (individuals or cornrows). But what he's doing here is instant starter locks with interlocked roots.
THANKS MR. MOURICE AM FROM UGANDA THANKS FOR YOUR TEACHINGS ❤❤PRECIATE
you are real the crotchetmaster...amazing work
Thanks Maurice my friend God bless you this is very good
Sir thanks for your lessons and I love to see how to unplait them🥰🥰🥰
Well done Maurice! What gel do you use at the bottom before you lock?
I would like to know can you do that on real short hair for a hairstyle with this extension if So can you show me how please and thank you godbless
No will not mess up my hair to get a style

CHEATING was a person........🙄🤔..... I'm 5 years in and NOTHING beats experience ☺️✊🏾
I’m on my second set and both sets I did it the natural way. IF I ever was to start again I would get instant locs SORRY.. NOT SORRY 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think this hilarious that this is some new method when Jamaicans have been doing dreads like this for years with crochet needles and pins 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good job you are indeed the boss of nature hair
Beautiful Work Love Watching Your Videos♥
I would never ever back comb my hair.
I just had African braid shop do mine cuz I can’t get to SC or ATL where blacks do this method for century decades, I am appalled to find out a lot of African born in Africa can’t do this method so whoever commented said it originated in Africa well they all don’t know how to use the tool I’m sitting here with a messed up head and overcharged for loc maintenance $150. I will never ever go back to African Braid shop. I have holes all over my locs and my hair was twisted if they wanted to do micros. I should of walked out when I saw all they clients had no edge’s getting fake hair added.
This is absolutely beautiful, wish I could get someone to fix my like this in Nigeria
