- I show how to resurface a garage floor with Sakrete Flo-Coat Concrete Resurfacer. My garage floor was very pitted. I applied a thin coat of the concrete resurfacer to fill the pitting and smooth out the surface.

Great video! Sounds like I'll be hiring a contractor for this job.
By far the best Sakrete Flocoat video on UA-cam.
Thanks.

Thanks for the video. I’m going to tackle this on my garage. Can you share the details on that scraper you used - it looks good and I like the long handle. Will I be able to paint or epoxy after it has cured?
Hi, the scraper is the Slam Scraper from Red Devil. You can apply any top coating that works with cement products.

Can we polish concrete after that, which product could it be ?
Great Video, this is exactly what i was looking for. After its dry can you then put an epoxy paint and sealant over it?
I would also like to know! Great question
Can you do a follow up of how it looks now please?
Hi, here is a video we did in June that catches some of the floor. It is holding up very well.

Great video! Considering doing the same thing. My floor is in decent shape and similar to yours. Will this product chip, crumble, breakdown or flake away in high traffic areas or where you park your car? How is the long term durability? Thank you for posting this!
Hi, so far its in great shape. I will be doing a video soon to install a garage door threshold, so you can check it out.

@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel thanks a lot for Sharing!!! I’ll check it out!
@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel where do you buy the sakrete concrete resurfacer at
How do you keep this from flowing onto the driveway? Also, is it self leveling? It's advertised to not be used as leveling underlayment, and not as a final layer.
Hi, I was able to get a feel for how much to put down at a time as I moved across the garage, so I didn't apply too much at the end. If you mix it to a trowelable consistency, and smooth it quickly, it levels off. It is formulated to resurface the concrete and be the finished surface.
@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel If I'm correct, was it 3.5 quarts of water per bag?
Anyone know if this coat holds epoxy well?
Good video! Did it dry to the same color everywhere? 5 bags. Was this a 2 car garage?
Hi, yes a 2 car garage. It was pretty uniform in color. I'm sure a second thin coat would make it look more uniform.
Any special precautions to take around the floor drain?
Hi, you can stuff some craft paper or towels into the opening.

Hi, can you tell me what the square footage area is for one 40lb bag?? I have a two car garage and want to make sure I purchase enough, thx!!
Hi, here is a link for their calculator for the product.

I have grease spots....do I need to remove those before using this product?
Hi, yes use a degreaser, then clean with a detergent and rinse thoroughly.

I only have a couple pitted areas in my garage, should I just resurface those areas or do the entire floor?
Hi, you can start with the holes with a product like this and see how it turns out and then resurface the whole area if it doesn't look good.

Would this work if I actually wanted to fill in my expansion joints to make it easier to roll things around the garage?
Hi, this is formulated for a thin top coat. I would look into a sand mix or concrete filler depending on the depth and width.

@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel Appreciate the reply.
Use sikaflex self leveling sealant for that if u haven’t already found something. Got the big tubes of it at Home Depot and Although it’s a bit pricey it works super well and I roll my lathe and mechanics chair over it no problem.
No etching? No bonding agent rolled onto the floor before application??
Hi, for this product the instructions specifically say Do Not use a bonding agent.
You need to do resurfacing right after pressure wash the floor?
Hi, yes, it helps to spread the material.

Is this a floor leveler or a cement product specifically for refinishing concrete floor?
Hi, yes this is designed for concrete.

How many buckets of surfacer did it take to do the entire floor...did u surface the entire floor?
Thanks for the video BTW.
Hi, I used 5 bags for this project.
I have to fix my portion of the shared garage space. how thick can this be mixed...I need something that does not contain aggregates n not even like the sand mix. that said I'm looking for something that is less fluid for better control.
thanks!
Hi, you are looking for a concrete resurfacer. Compare the thickness that it can be applied. Some products are from a skim coat up to 1/8 or from a skim coat to 1/2 inch thick.

@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel thank you for the response.
Then what is the difference between a resurfacer vs self leveling concrete?
BTW, just got yer ebook
@@nmssis Hi, thanks for the download! A self leveling concrete usually has a thicker minimum thickness. One of the Quikrete self leveling products wants a minimum 1/2 inch for heavy traffic areas.
@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel I bought a bag of Sika Self-Leveling Underlayment and saw that most users mixed it to "pancake batter" consistency for flowing coverage. However, I was looking to make it a little thicker and did not know if that was possible, such as thinner clay where it does not flow, allowing me to shape it better.
@@nmssis Are you patching areas or just smoothing the surface?
If I use a jack or something that puts a lot of pressure on a small area, will the new layer crack?
No it wont
Can multiple layers of this product be applied??
Hi, yes, you can apply multiple coats.

How long does it lost for? Will be pop up?
Hi, it should last 10 to 20 years depending on how thick and how well the surface was prepared.

This house isn't on Coon Lake is it? Damn that garage looks familiar
This is in the Chicago area.
Wonder if it cracks with time
So far so good.
Can I park my car over that?
Yes you can.

It’s way to thin you are only painting it on
Hi, I used this to fill in all the pitting and give it a new uniform look. I spoke to Sakrete before I applied it and they said a thin coat is fine with this product. It still looks great.
