I am so happy to see the Humans of Westknits starting. Thanks for introducing us to some great dyers. I look forward to seeing what comes up in the MKAL.
11:32 I love this piece of information! This will be my first time doing a mystery knit along and I had told myself I can always frog it ... I'm so glad that this was mentioned. Also the fact that you don't have to keep up with the trailblazers and you can take your time 😊
This was a great idea! It was so nice to hear from these dyers and see such beautiful color combinations! I love your combo and I would have a hard time deciding between those two CC's---oh no---you may need to swatch🤣
What an inspiring video Irina! I was especially intrigued by the Vegan Yarn Co. tencel base-it’s glorious and I’m going to look into ordering from them for a future project!
I absolutely love Twisted Ambitions yarn, the colors are amazing and the yarn is so soft and yummy! I got one of their kits for the sockalong this year and just fell in love with their yarn. I live in NZ so need to save up as shipping is so expensive, I hope Ross will think about approaching a local NZ shop liken Ribbon Rose in Auckland, to stock his yarn.
I am not doing the MKAL this year, I am just getting my knitting mojo back (may change my mind on that. I am really in love with Twisted Ambitions magenta glitz kit )I also really love the idea of having someone dye a couple of skein to add to my stash skein. What a great idea. Irina your choices are gorgeous
Bamboo does grow very quickly and doesn't require a lot of care to grow, but if farmed too aggressively, the biodiversity of the area can suffer. However, the processing of the plant into fiber is most concerning. The chemicals needed to turn the fiber into yarn/ cloth are potentially dangerous to the environment; it is a labor-intensive process, and the working conditions may not be great. Not to mention, shipping the yarn from Asia to the rest of the world consumes energy in multiple ways. Refering to bamboo as not sustainable may be simplifying the issue.
Hi I'm vegan yarn sorry for the late response! I should have been more specific- you can get some bamboo thats like jute abd it's fibe but not great for clothing. The soft bamboo rayon is the one I meant abd it's the processing of it- using toxic chemicals that are bad for the environment.

I’m finalizing the full schedule for humans, but our first zoom will be on September 29 at 12 pm est

It’s more about doing things together than winning a race
I loved Irina’s gasp when she saw Kitey’s colours! 🧡
I did not expect those at all 😂
I love that you and Martin again do all the videos around the MKAL ❤
It’s our favorite reunion time
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.❤❤❤ I just love the shawls that you have hanging behind you, wishing that I had one. They are so beautiful!
Thank you! 😊 the blue one is my new design called Instant Glamour. It’s now of Ravelry. And the first one was Romi Hill’s MKAL from this year
Great video. I love your colors…don’t change a thing.

I’ve been struggling and tomorrow I’m going to Ewe Knit in Toronto where I’m sure skeins will be begging me to take them home 😂

I’m tempted to try pineapple yarn :)
Your interviews are so much fun! Maybe Martin could interview you for a podcast.... :)
Perhaps we can both be interviewed by the participants of humans of westknits
@@Fiberchats Fun to hear my idea on the Humans Zoom! I hope you do it!

That’s a great idea. Perhaps we can play matchmaking between Ross and New Zealand stores
So many great colors !!!
Are you planning to join this year?
@@Fiberchats No, I am working on so much baby clothes for my new grandson, I don't have time to kknit for myself, but i am so happy to follow you all.
I bet we're doing welts in our shawl this year. Like in the SSAL.
Loved the episode! Gee….I thought I had my Colors all pegged out for the MKAL…now… I’m not so sure! Time to explore my yarns some more 😂
The struggle is real!!

Thank you Tyanne!
Why is bamboo not sustainable? I understood it grows very fast.
