One of my first LPs was of Gary Burton when I was still in high school. I saved MT allowance just to buy his album. Some sixty years ago. Still fabulous!
In 1967 I was 17 years old in Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico I was in high school also working in a small jewelry shop learning the trade it took me long time to save some money to buy me three LP records Time out by Dave Brubeck . Stan Getz/Gilberto ( bossanova ) and Sinatra at the Sands Coming out of the record store felt 10 feet tall By the way I'm 73 years old and still kicking
THEY WERE PROBABLY CRAVING TO MAKE THIS INCREDIBLE MUSIC AGAIN TOGETHER - I HAVE THE CD - IT IS A TOTAL MASTERPIECE !!! THAT BANDONEON ACCORDIAN PLAYER IS REALLY AT THE CORE OF THIS MUSIC - SOME REAL SUBSTANCE TO HIS PLAYING THAT INCREDIBLE AND VERSATILE INSTRUMENT - SURPRISED YOU DON'T GET TO HEAR IT VERY OFTEN . AND OF COURSE GARY BURTON ON VIBES MIGHT JUST BE MY FAVORITE SOLOIST IN THE ENTIRE JAZZ GENRE - BRAVO TO WHOEVER SHARED THIS - MAKES ME WANT TO BUT THE CD ALL OVER AGAIN !!!
Amazing intro solo performed by Gary Burton. I love the rhythmic tapping on the upright bass that comes in at 0:24, there are many earthy tones in this performance. Interesting arrangement of instruments but still maintains authenticity of the accordion. Fantastic! -V.L
I don't know the theory, but when playing fast runs like he's doing, it might be easier to use the up/down wrist motion of the outside grip rather than the sideways pivoting wrist motion on the inside.
This world needs Gary Burton.
Absolutely!
awesome
Gary Burton is one of the finest musicians on the planet
Yes, he's right up there with Pat Metheney
he introduced Pat Metheney
oh...I never knew that, hmmm thanks!
a pleasure
I saw him and Chick Corea doing duets at a nearby concert hall about 6 years ago and it is one of the highlights of my musical experience
Awesome!!! What about Brad Mehldau??

@@musamor75 silly ass man

Sin palabras,verdaderamente impresionante!!! Mis felicitaciones!!!!
Simplemente maravilloso!!!!!! Gracias.
Szuper! Nekem mindig az volt a bajom, hogy annyira rágörcsöltem és nem is sikerült végül vibraphon-on játszanom...
Absolutamente magico!
gosh, the violin part is amazing!!!!!!

I'm gonna play this for the Lionel Hampton Jazz Fest this February!
Vecchia Romagna intense emozioni...
Lovely!
Dude he gets such good tone out of that vibraphone...
Extrodinary and a counterpoint wiz.
3:20 love that c-b minor
Fantastico...troppo bello. 🤔🎶😍
I'm lovin' it
most people usually transcribe their own ver. there are some piano ver around but you might be able to find it.
The squeeze box is an integral part of this particular track!
It’s a bandoneon, and yes it’s an integral part because it was written by a bandoneon player.
please the pace is wild... relax and slow down...
he's offering a free improvisation course on Coursera, I already registered, I think it's an incredible opportunity.
José Carlos Lazarte Aspíllaga Who? Gary Burton? No fucking way!
Rifados!
Шедевр.
Unfortunately, one person has hemorrhoids instead of ears ;-) How can anybody dislike THIS? Splendid interpretation of a great composition..!
Marvelous !!!!
incredible!
かっこ良過ぎ!
Incredible..!!!!
INCREDIBLE!
Our middle school jazz band played that one... not... THAT well... but... still... I’m still involved in something this cool I swear.
Superb 😍😍
genialidad pura!!
Gary Burton makes it look and sound so easy it is easy to forget what he's doing is completely ridiculous!!
wow sick

590 likes and no dislikes thats what i like to see
beautifull
se per caso stessimo guardando questo video in classe, ciao👌👌🤝🤝🫡

Great arrangement and performance, but the cameraman had a lot of trouble finding the violinist.
Piazzola is God on earth
Beauty

❤❤❤❤❤
muito bom!!!
Anybody knows where I can buy or get transcription for vibe and all od those instruments from video?
Thanks
シェアさせて戴きます。
Se consiguen partituras de ese arreglo ??
De casualidad alguien no tendrá la partitura?
Anyone knows which MALLETS are he using?
Gary burton series by vic firth... I think
Thank you😁
Hey guys does anyone have an idea where I can buy this arrangement??
IT'S AMAZING... i need this sheet music, where can i find it????
Why does he hardly ever use his inside mallet on his right hand? I'm new to this grip so I don't know if it is just something you don't do?
I don't know the theory, but when playing fast runs like he's doing, it might be easier to use the up/down wrist motion of the outside grip rather than the sideways pivoting wrist motion on the inside.
Que o tango nos liberte ... !!!
What was the great observation?!?!?!
this sounds incredibly hard to mix all instruments together. I doubt this sounds half as good as it is hearing it in person.
Wonderful, if you like the tango, even though it is a little too fast.
Aha! So it’s not just me!
It reminds me of a deltarune ost... Beautiful
does any body know where i can buy this? CD or DVD
Hey guys you know where I️ can find this arrangement?
yoinked in just a year...why do I do this to me. . .
Bandoneon and piano are accelerating as hell, but besides that Gary Burton is imperial !
Why do I keep hearing "Pipedream" from Animusic when this starts? Oh, yeah.
Pity the "director" cant tell which instrument is playing the melodies.
Савршено!
💚🌳😃🌼
the name of the bandeonist is missing
no, the description says "Marcelo Nisinman on bandoneón"
thank you
bad ass shit!!!!!!!!!!!
where is the sheet music for this?
Mallets for dayz This is a lot of improv, unfortunately there isn't music for it.
If you would like to have the transcription of Gary's intro solo, you can write me: france.bertoli@gmail.com
who is the accordionist ?
Marcelo Nisinman - although the instrument is not an accordion but a bandoneon.
4ème 6 NDP
i did too :)
