I love Lulu's version of "To Sir With Love" but wow! Susan's vocal here is heartbreakingly beautiful, capturing the sadness and earnestness intended in the lyrics. All the Cowsill's singing voices are beautiful, but they also had that way of communicating real raw emotion, sad or ebullent.
@@annaleonardi6299 So true I hope the parents suffered all the pain they did to there children. They even spent all the money the children made Cruel inhuman parents
I'm a very recent addition to the Cowsill appreciation club. Saw Bob, Susan, and Paul on one of those late night, 60s compilation CD infomercials. I was immediately struck by their infectious personalities, especially Sue. Then I remembered that they did that cool ass song "Hair". I looked it up on You Tube, saw that video from the '69 Carl Reiner show and that was it! In 3 months, I've watched every piece of video that they have, the documentaries, the TV appearances, as well as read up on them. What great talent and how interesting is their story. They may not have had a #1 since Hair, but I enjoy everything they've put out. Corny variety show Pop, 60s retro, or Billy's country stuff......All freakin amazing! Hope they have one last little tour in them, and get near Philly. I would be honored to meet them! Thanx Cowsill's!
Oh god this is awesome. Raw acoustics and mix and how 3 can still sound so rich. The guitar tones, the harmonies, the high notes..Could listen forever. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Yep & don't forget the Everlys. After Dad kicked Billy Cowsill out of the family band, he went to Canada & joined up w/guitarist Jeffrey Hatcher as 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒔, & they had some great Everly-esque harmonies also. If you haven't already, check them out.
Check out a band from then called the free design. They're widely considered one of the best bands of that time, another family band with harmonies. But their music is much more advanced than most music.
Love them so much! Thanks, Cowsills, for performing "Poor Baby." It's such a great son and you sounded wonderful. I would encourage you to do more of your own catalog. Hits or not there are a lot of great ones.
GREETINGS FROM ARKANSAS I REMEBER YOUR FAMILY AND THE MUSIC FROM WHEN I WAS VERY LITTLE...YOU ALL ARE THE BEST...AND YOU NALL ARE NOT OLD GOD BLESS YALL AND YOUR FAMILIES
Susan, Are you a big “Dark Shadows” fan? I agree that The Cowsills are superb musical performers. I look forward to seeing them perform in the post-COVID “Happy Together” tour along with The Turtles, The Association and Gary Puckett.
Bob & Paul probably don't remember, but in Spokane my bud's mom worked for a booking agent and we obtained your hotel room #.. we were in highschool and I'm 67 yrs old now. Want to say thank you for the Budweiser, the wonderful conversation, and mostly the memories and a story. I still get milage as I remember like yesterday..
I saw them at Carroll College in Helena in the early 70s. Susan was still a child. Their entire family was there and they were phenomenal. I can't believe they are still so true to their original sound.
All things considered there was nowhere to run here it was gonna be the stripped down Cowsills minus two great musicians and they my friends absolutely nailed it!!! They really are a wonderful harmonic group and I highly recommend catching them if you're able too ❤️
they had a bad father but he made them what they became i love the cowsills there the one band i would have liked to meet more than any ,i could relate to the bad dad to .but you cant pick your parents sad but happy they made it this far and because they have each other //charlie cap musician on you tube
Just saw them in Las Vegas, and their harmonies are just as tight as ever. It’s a joy to watch how much fun they have with each other. I got to meet them after the concert, and they are happy and grateful. I highly recommend their new album, Rhythm of the World.
Even with only 3 of them left its absolutely superb I saw a whatever happened to documentary its a very sad story here they put today's artistes to shame.
This was one of the coolest concerts I've ever witnessed. Only being there would have made it complete. Great entertaining stuff, great music, and wonderful talent. Love the Cowsills. That Beatles song they did sent chills up my spine. Sublime! From about 28:40.
Hola, yo también soy mexicano y me encanta la música de The Cowsills. Es una alegría poder encontrar personas que tienen presente la música que pocas veces es recordada. Espero poder saludarte pronto Lourdes. 👋🏼
Oh how I love their family banter :) Paul just can't help it, as ever- his parents "had no sense of rhythm"! And, "Peripherally, it doesn't come off as 'honoring'" from Bob. So fun! I meant to just look at a few minutes and got sucked into the full show!
I wish they'd come up to Canada and do a few dates. I'm very sure they have just as many Canadian fans as American! They belong in the Rock and Roll Hall! I love their cover of the Wee Five ! Susan doing To Sir, With Love ❤️ is way 😎
The sound on this is not great, but I realize the facilities and setup were limited. Still, always wonderful to hear the Cowsills, whether its the trio or the whole band. It was cool hearing the snippet of "River Blue", a song I never heard them do live. But loved all the songs. To this day, when I hear "Puff...", I cry. Don't care much for the acting out of the song, though. However, it sounds wonderful here anyway. Also loved the banter between the songs. And although I couldn't hear the questions from the audience the Q & A segment was particularly enjoyable. BTW, the CD they mentioned they were recording should be released on or around the 1st of April in 2019.
Wish someone would have told them to crank the vocals. I'm sure in the monitors it was better, but that guitar is too loud. Know how I can prove it? I'm a guitar player. And if I say it's too loud, it's too loud.
Pena que o instrumental ficou muito alto, cobrindo as vozes..! Más, são espetaculares..! The Rain, the Park and Other Things, é com toda certeza um Presente de Deus, hma obra-prima..!
It was definitely not a lack of applause, even though it might sound that way. Folks here were LOVING the Cowsills trio. What you're hearing is a soundboard recording with no audience-centric microphone in place. We were very happy with the response our crowd gave to these amazing musicians, who we will hopefully be able to have back some time soon!
I like very much... they come back memories about me when I was children... my little sister song this theme when she was a baby..... Thank from Chile..... PD: I hope they are not democrat.... jejejeje
Susan Cowsill has spent her whole life being adorable.
Very good, they have always been my favorite group!
"To Sir With Love" was awesome! Great job Susan :)

PHENOMENAL HARMONY! Thank you for 50yrs plus of AMAZING music!
Imagine the great music they would make if Bill and Barry were still with us.

@@rut5161 Woke is a made-up word that means nothing.
Awesome accoustic performances! The Cowsills never disappoint.
Wherever you live, support your local Friends of the Library. They bring you shows like this! Well done!
They didn't go too crazy getting dressed for the show
The Cowsills maravilhosos! Amo The Cowsills. Thank you !
Great songs, good memories. Thank you!!
when I first heard "if I had a hammer...?" I gasped so loud, I love that sooooong!! I'm so happy I had to pause to put this comment up
They are still great. I met Susan on a flight from Vegas to Chicago years ago, it was great we talked the whole flight. She was awesome!
That's so cool. Some stars don't forget where they came from. Nothing like talking to a down to Earth famous person!! She does seem amazing.
Greetings from Arkansas there parents were abusive people...they cuss as well they are Not that old
Great story. They seem to be down to earth people.

Clearly, the hardest working kids in the music biz! Long may you run!

Susan is still the flower child with her bell bottoms.
I do still wish she danced though. She had the best moves.
Memories and tears. All wonderful❤️
