Dodona in Epirus was also a major Pan-Hellenic sanctuary and actually the oldest Pan-Hellenic sanctuary. Please do include it in the future. By the way, very informative and beautifully done presentation.
O Σίφνος. My family in Hellas have a property in Kamares, the little port where the ferries dock at the isle of Sifnos. I have spent many months there and it is idyllic, hearing the Mediterranean cicadas and to smell the heady scent of the conifer trees which grow a little more inland. it rained once in the whole time I was there, I saw it fall from a distance like having a chimaera as it was so hot that it dissipated before it even had any chance of hitting the ground. 🧿
This is the very kind of history that one can immerse themselves into another time altogether. Amazing if all could be in VR or of on location an AR projection. To see this all in it's antiquity would be tearfully inspiring 🙏🏾 Wish that I had when I was in grade school, my curiosity was insatiable and none other than ancient Greek history could come close to quenching. Thank 6ou you so much for these videos! I hope to see more in the future of this incredible quality 🙂
The Giants against the gods. In Indian culture the Titans were perpetually at war with the Gods. I wonder if there is any correlation. Enlighten me please.
It is a real pearl. The taste of the Ionic order to the ornamental and sculpural decoration is brought to a pitch of perfection. It's powerful, fiery, immoderate and.. It's so moving. Time seems suspended. Thantk a lot :)
Go figure Zeus is missing in action in each place he should appear... Probably too busy victimizing some attractive woman, lol. In contrast, my girl Athena is indeed "always the hero." I thought she was so cool in my Greek myth days... Anyway, I appreciate the unanticipated leg-day inspiration - each figure has noticeably large, strong, toned legs. 😋
This is one of the best art history, discussions of a frieze I’ve ever experienced. Thank you.

Hopefully we will eventually get to Dodona, we would love to add more sanctuaries-and thank you for the kind words about the video.

The largest collection of remnants and a reconstruction of the treasury can be seen at the Delphi Archaeological Museum today.
