    Something I love about MM's approach is that he is never looking to give a hot take or drum up drama. MM has got to be one of the most trusted in the business. Keep it up!

    It’s just nice to get balanced reporting instead of the fire everyone crazy channel stuff that just becomes very boring. The organization has shown an ability to adjust during season and come back from bad starts. We shall see if they can again

    Success rate for number one QB draft picks is very low. Very few actually succeed. Matt, you are criticizing again! It was already explained that Brock could not find the safety and that’s why he chose not to pass to BA! Yes, there is a lot going on and Brock only has microseconds to make a decision. You don’t play the game so you don’t know!

    Scouts look at the outside physical traits. 6 feet 4 and 240 poinds. Need accuracy, processing, reading defenses. Can have a canon arm and not be a successful nfl qb. Brady has said every good qb is a system qb. They run the system.

    I am positive with NIL you'll find talented athlete's mentally corrupted by the overblown media headlines, money, and me-centric mindset. It's a trend for QB's to come from college into the league carrying their "brand" which doesn't translate well into a team sport when you don't have that pro level experience. Puka Nuka, Jordan Mason, Purdy, Jennings, and so many others found in the mid to late rounds are kids focused on the craft of football. They have to be if they want a shot at their dream. That makes them better athletes in the long run. For example: I think Bryce Young quit. He was a number 1 pick, he was regarded as future all star... blah, blah... but reality hit and I think he realized that he isn't a superior athlete in the pro's. Montana was what... a 4th? Brady a 6th? I think scouts (maybe with a push from owners) seek out the athlete "brands" because it fills stadiums - not necessarily benefits the team. Moving forward, scouts need to re-evaluate smaller schools, consistent players who aren't flashy, and humble kids who want to win first.

    I remember watching Trey Lance highlights from college and it was basically receivers open by 5 yards and he was throwing it 3 yards behind them, but they still made the catch because they were so wide-open 😮

      The one thing that Lance did that I thought might translate to the NFL is that when he ran play-action, he turned his back to the defense. A lot of college QBs are not asked to do that.

    Why not put Mustapha at LB? He's built like one and he wouldn't be a liability covering TEs.

    Many scouts focus too much in measurables, the big arm, the athleticism

      I don't blame them. That's easy to evaluate the traits that everyone can see and measure.

    Brilliant! Of course that takes into account how absurd it is that scouts so totally prejudged Purdy and discounted his value in the draft. They are embarrassed to have that flaw in their professional opinions so blatantly exposed.

    • @mattmaiocconfl

      It's very difficult to evaluate and grade aspects of QB play in which there is not a measurable. I get it. Nobody has been able to crack the code.

    kyle already said rams had busted coverage and no way purdy can account for the safety so the safe thing to do is the checkdown and not have a possible int. protect the ball usually wins the game. purdy might be limited physically but his mind is super ready for the NFL game speed and how to run this offense.

    He doesn’t trust Aiyuk, full stop.
    Everyone thinks CJ Stroud is such a better QB than Purdy but look at Purdy’s game compared to the 'great' Stroud.

    Sorry Matt, I disagree on your Sam Darnold comments, he’s a USC QB and as you know, none of them won a SB. Like you said, it’s early give it some time and you will see Sam refer back to his good old days of failing when it counts the most. He might make the playoffs, but that’s as far as he’ll ever go. 😂

    Lombardi mentioned Curtis Robinson as a possible guy to give playing time over Campbell. I say how bout bringing Malik Mustapha as LB3 with Robinson as LB2 because we have Tracy Walker to bring in as safety help. What are your thoughts?

    • @mattmaiocconfl
      @mattmaiocconfl  2 години тому +2

    Kyle said that BA was second in the progression there are sight adjustments in the routes, BA made it and Purdy should have thrown it. He’s not seeing the field well with BA. Go look at the Vikings tape…BA was open a lot.

    • @laserhawk221
      @laserhawk221 2 години тому

      Kyle said ba was running the wrong route and Purdy didn’t trust it. It’s a crucial point in the game and ba had been dropping passes and giving up on routes for three weeks you can see why he would be hesitant with him running the wrong route

    • @Keith-cl3th
      @Keith-cl3th 2 години тому

      @@laserhawk221 He did not say that. Kyle said the Rams busted the coverage and BA ran to the open area as he should have! Check your facts.

    • @laserhawk221
      @laserhawk221 2 години тому

      @@Keith-cl3th yea busted coverage and he ran the wrong route, I’m not saying he shouldn’t have done it but it’s not what Purdy was expecting . But again you saw Purdy pump and not throw it because he didn’t trust it. Aiyuk hasn’t been good and had been quitting on routes. Also none of this matters if aiyuk and Ronnie didn’t have stones for hands. Ronnie literally spiked the pass instead of catching it

    • @Keith-cl3th
      @Keith-cl3th 2 години тому +1

      @@laserhawk221 Again you’re wrong. Kyle never said “he ran the wrong route” it’s a sight adjustment that you don’t seem to understand. Kyle also said Purdy didn’t throw it because he didn’t exactly know where the safety was. - nothing to do with BA. You have an agenda and don’t know ball so I’m out. All yours.

      There's a saying . . . if a quarterback sees everything, he sees nothing. Purdy should have made the play, but I totally understand why he was a tick slow.
