Hi Pete. That was a really great find. Amazing what a little regular maintenance will do. Didn't even check the plug. Nice. You de Man ! Take Care

WOW!..Thanks big time. My saw sat for close to 2 years on the garage floor. I cleaned it up as best I could, but I did NOT drain the old fuel. I added some Sea Foam to the tank before adding/topping off the fuel. Then I checked to see if there was enough Bar Oil, it needed some so I added that too. It would NOT start no matter what I did. So now I will go and check my Air Filter, dump the old fuel and I've had a gallon of the pre-mixed fuel sitting there also, I shook it up and hopefully that fueil wil still be good.

Larry Fulton Did you get it running?

300zxdriver I got it running but the chain kept coming off the bar. When I looked into it, the “E” clip came off of the Clutch along with the washer and bearing. I ordered new parts from Amazon, got them the next day. Put it all together again and it wouldn’t run. So, I gave it to a Small Engine Repair guy to look at it. When I got it back it was running fine, but not today.. I think I flooded it..I’ll try again tomorrow. Thanks for your reply!

I like the video and I have the exact same saw but my question is iv always had poulen saws mowers etc so I'm not as familiar with these but the saw itself has had problems starting since the day we baught it a number of years ago so much so I got my old poulen that my grandfather gave me when I was 15 about 5 years ago that hadn't run in over 20 years. Started it right up after time up. This one I did new carb cleaned new one new lined new filter amongst other things. I finally got it to run after 4 hours of cleaning the carb plug new fuel etc then I turned it off went to start and the damn rip cord assembly just broke in half. Got a new one few days after right back to square one. Am I the only one who's had this problem? Same thing happened on a sthil weed whacker. I thought sthils were reasonably good but my father baught a poulen pro 18 inch for 130$ after two similar sized sthils and husqvarnas were nothing but problems. If you or anyone has an idea as to why I am having the problem I'd greatly appreciate it

Don't ever do any of this again. Buy a Stihl battery powered unit. Unless you use yours weekly, this issue is a thing of the past.

How do you tune the carb on that machine?

  • @sheliumorg5189

I've owned hundreds of powertools. STIHL is by far -- BY GO DD AMN PHUQQING PHARRRRRRR -- the worst, most difficult piece of shite to start, ever, bar none, without exception. Buy a STIHL and you might as well rip your goddamn arms off phuqqing around with starting them.
