Having seen Sheila perform in concert 3x in the 80s (once solo, and twice w Prince), I recently saw her in '22, and you're right everyone was happy to be there, dancing and singing. She even performed a bit of Purple Rain... On electric guitar! So if you get the chance, definitely go see her!

Prince wrote both songs for Sheila. Her and Candy both played in Prince’s band and with him off and on for years after.

She learned how to play the drums when she was 5 and she never stopped, so yes, she's done that a time or 2.
