Really appreciate your skills. Just received my 2023 4Runner and plan to (try) to ppf it myself. Heard that it’s almost impossible to remove the plastic fender flares without breaking them…. Finger crossed..Thank you again!
Thank you! 😁 Are you looking at a kit or bulking your 4runner? Have you considered not removing the fender flares? We do them both ways. Depending on the vehicle, vehicle color, and customer. There isn't much info out there on how to remove those. One post I read, the guy took his bumper off in order to reach the back of the fender. Then, he could get to the back of the clips to help pop them out. I would just buy new ones (clips) and plan on breaking them. We use a bone stick to help remove most parts of cars. Get it behind the part right next to the clip and twist (if needed). The bone stick is also great for pushing through the double stick tape and breaking it loose. 👍🏻
@@EncorePPFtint Bulk installation on White 4Runner. My goal was to only protect against rust (living in the rust belt). I see many 4R having rust around the Fenders flair… (impact ?, rubbing the paint off?) I like your ideas for the clips!
I would lean towards rubbing. Salt and dirt behind the flair or a tight fit could lead to rubbing through the paint. PPF could really help with that. I'd take a look while the flair is off and make sure the paint has good coverage on the fender edge (at the wheel well) and holes where the clips go through. Sorry my reply took a couple of days. I went over to my friends body shop and asked him what he thought about where that rust starts.
Great content
Thank you! 😁
