Turned in my first born for a set of vitavon axle housings and hubs shortly after getting my lmt roller. Also opted for the vitavon servo saver.
I just send it now. I don’t even think about it. Maybe break a link now and then but somethings gotta give…

Was a good watch, good to see someone aware enough to fettle the "chinesium" finish. From the title I hoping it was the ring and pinion you were changing (been seeing these "RCAWD" gears all over eBay). My prebuilt roller that has only a dozen packs through started skipping something in the front last run. I haven't had the bench space or inclination to look inside yet, but I've never seen anyone reporting driveline failure on a LMT yet so I'm curious to see what makes me an outlier 😆 And I haven't been ott with it, nothing like the Trigger King boys do. And only running a Thundertiger Ripper 2000kv on 3S, so not much more wheelspeed than the RTR and with the brake turned down, as you do with live axle trucks.

We actually found the stock bearing flanges fail on some straight outa box. Check there first and see if that’s the case. Just had one go down last week with this. Rare but can happen

@@ProNoobRC Oh right! Will definitely check those before I split the hemisphere. I remember about 10 years back when the SC10 was the hot boi for 4WD SC word was to replace the bearings with aftermarket before you even run it, seems that Losi bearings are still being Losi bearings. Cheers!

@@ProNoobRC Found the issue. All 4 of the screws that hold the 3rd member in were stripped and the 3rd member wasn't holding pinion mesh under duress. Either the housing had flexed and ejected it or, more likely the screws were overdone in assembly. My truck has had a few pre stripped screws in places (particularly the kingpin retainers). Drilled deeper with a 2.5mm and longer screws properly tightened. Fixed!

How are the axles holding out long term. Are they a good alternative to the more expensive ones?

No! We actually need to pull this video down and do an update video.. not happy with them at all. The design on the inside causes the shoulder of the shoulder bearing to get cut off, which leads to almost instant diff gear failure. We found another brand that uses a far better design. We will do a video on right away with a link to those.

3rd members are like 3rd legs. The bigger the better. 😂
