- My R32 VR6 powered VW Touran, with 4motion now installed. First up is a gentle launch, with the clutch fully out before stomping on the pedal. Second go is a bit more aggressive.
The engine is the R32 3.2 VR6 from an MK5 Golf R32. It has the 6 speed manual transmission and haldex 4motion 4WD system from the same car. The Touran never came with a V6 or 4motion from the factory.

That's awesome. The kids love it. Reminds me of asking Dad to a burnout. Lol
They were excited alright.There is 3 of them now and they're much older . They still ask me to do silly things. The oldest will have a licence in two years though 😬 Scary.

Ich stimme zu. VW hätte sie mit Allradantrieb bauen sollen, aber auch mit dem R32-Motor.

do you think this swap could be done with a 2004 1.9tdi 1st gen touran?
Yes, there might be slightly more work and maybe requires things like a radiator from a petrol version for the hoses to line up etc.
do you had any problem during mounting rear axle and 4x4 conversion?
I had a custom alloy fuel tank, slightly modifed the subframe, and mounted it on 20mm spacers. Also removed the spare wheel well to clear the rear diff and subframe.
@@allanwilliams2299 Seems not quiet a problem. I had planning to buy Touran in the near future and do engine swap to Golf R. Is that any Golf R engine can fit into Touran or only mk5 can fit into it?
@@arifasri976 its easier to stick to similar electronics, though with enoufgh work anything can be done.

Hei... can i have more information about cost and if its legal to make it?
I did most of the work myself. The cost was all the parts. Its perfectly legal here in NZ and has LVVTA Certification for road use.
@@allanwilliams2299 I guess the platform was fitted with V6 in other car model ?
@@michalkowalik89 Yes. The Touran is the same platform as the MK5 Golf, just longer wheelbase and no space in the back for the 4motion without mods.
Did you change the petrol tank to make way for the drive shaft? If yes, are the seats still folding as normal or you sacrificed the functioning of the middle seats.
I have a 2006 vw touran 2.0fsi and would like to do the same to it what advise would you give me. I was thinking of sourcing parts from a tiguan 4motion like the transmission and the differential, but I'm not sure which subframes would fit with less modifications.
