- Results are sure to be electrifying as Hilarie and I spend an entire day relocating our fence charger to the new barn, and reconfiguring how the electric fences are fed.

Farmers writing romance novels-
"Her body tensed and quivered as she felt wave after wave surge through it.
I probably should have told her about, the new electric fence."
Pete, did you know 90% of bald people still own a comb? They just can't part with it.
😅
😀
That's a good one!
You are an excellent videographer. We enjoy getting out of the city by watching you, your family and the livestock. My wife giggles like a child every time you show the piglets. You are a smart man.
No matter how many times I've seen someone else get shocked by a fence, it's funny 😂
When he touched the Fence and you heard it Pop him… I busted out laughing 😂😂… Love ya Pete, from Germany❤️
Truly enjoy viewing a farmer who's also a UA-camr as opposed to a UA-camr who farms!
I could hang out with you all day Pete. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and sharing your life and philosophies and skills with us!
It’s an illusion. Pete only talks to GoPros. 😉
Now now, sometimes I talk to Sony's too.
Pete was shocking surprised the fence was on lol
I feel bad I laughed! LOL
@@chuckhill7326 I agree. I had gotten my share as a kid. ;)
@@flutterby9013❤😮😮😮😮😮
Lol 😂😂😂😂
🤣
Hilarie's "booooo" was brutal. I love it.
We took our 1952 super md to the county fair and I spent hours and hours a day sitting next to the tractor telling people about it
im 11 and I know more than almost everyone I know
@@OwenNaber-lj9kh I believe it !! I'm old and I know they have systematically and demonically succeeded in the dumbing down of America.
Congratulations, keep on keeping on. 😊😘
Lineman pliers. I always enjoy Pete and Hilary doing routine work.
No wonder all of Peter's projects turn out so well. He always has a whole herd, with Patty in the lead, giving him instructions and advice.
Oh, 😮 Pete's a radical now! he rejects his architectural training by not aligning the control panels symmetricly. Ah, life on a farm, you can do as you please until works calls at 4:30am everyday!
So, I'm not the only one who gets shocked by his own fence. Nice.
Hillary is so blessed to have a man like you in her life ,so practical and right,
Pete your blessed with. God’s quality s
I admire Pete and his family he lives a lifestyle I truly inspire to achieve 15 years until I retire and start a farm ,, thanks Pete for being so dang cool
You can start gardens and chickens in your backyard, get some good practice, knowledge and routine established in that time! That's what Joel Salatin told a young man who said it'd take years to save up for a piece of land. Pete mentioned Joel when he was talking about chicken tractors and reclaiming pasture land using the various animals' natural instincts (eg pigs rooting, chickens scratching, goats browsing, etc)
So happy for you with the new barn this year. Progress and protection is in motion‼️
Don’t leave it too late so you can still enjoy it

Pete, I am impressed with the way your tractors start. After watching for a few years, I shouldn’t be surprised, excellent maintenance and overhauls. Growing up in western Pa. many years ago, we had As, Cs, Hs and Ms. we would call the difficult to start tractors, Hill Tractors, that’s the ones you parked on a hill before shutting them off. That way you could drift start them when you needed to use them again. Thanks for the memories.
Just a memory of mine...when I was young, we never had "nice" tractors. Brakes didn't work, temperamental, breaking down, hard to start, beat up, tired engines, really "low overhead" pieces of equipment. One of the reasons I started restoring tractors was because I wanted ones that worked like new.
@@JustaFewAcresFarm - And you have been kind enough to provide us with hours of entertainment of you doing just that... thank you, Pete!
@@JustaFewAcresFarmthank you Pete for showing that stuff, like my dad! He kept many Volkswagens running over the years....drift start, ha ha! My brother and I used to push those Beetles with my dad, then he'd jump in and get it started (pop the clutch?). Funny to see a 6 foot 2 inch guy pull that off! God bless you and your family Pete!
Same with us our newest tractor is a farmall 140 and our oldest is a 1949 oliver 77 row crop

I’ll just be in my little zen world with just a few acres farm ……..ummmmmmmmmmmmm! 😇🙏♥️🇨🇦
Hi Pete, I love your videos which remind me of the time when I lived on a small farm in southern Ireland in my early life. My father used to call the cattle like you do. Every one of them also had a name too. I am amazed how similar your farm in New York was to ours 50 years ago. Although we did not have even electric fences back then my job was to move cattle from field to field and I and my father would feed them with hay bundles from our backs. It was possible because we only had 15 cattle in all. I love seeing Hilary with you on the farm because my mother also played a large part in running the farm.
I am 68 years old now and even though I did not stay on the farm all those years I have still fond memories of my homeplace
I never thought of tilting the ground rod under the wall , thanks for the tip, those are lineman pliers I have a pair i have used for many many years
My dad had a pair he accused me of losing. I found them right where HE left them. Couple of decades later and they’re more often on my hip than not.
OMG, 😬 Pete got zapped, 💤 did you see him jump! One hell of an electrician he is! LOL. 😂😂
Just A Few Acres Farms rocks!!!😎👍👍👍
Pete, I am sorry, I did chuckle a little when you decided not to hold that electric fence but for just a few seconds. My wife gets a laugh every time I touch the hot fence wire too.
LOL. Yip, it's a feeling you don't forget.
Poor Hilarie ,putting up with those jokes all the time .I am surprised Pete has not been added to the chicken feed ! LOL
Got blown out of a trench by 440 that know one knew was there, ever since my sympathy is with the animals when it comes to electric fence!
The fence pulses so they get a quick zap to tell them to go away without major harm.
😂 don't feel too badly. The horses on the farm I worked on were so big, they used to deliberately LEAN into the wire to get a free massage!!!!
@@stephaniewilson3955 a shock is a shock to me. I have had farm animals my whole life and since the 440 I don’t care for any amount!
😊so glad to watch a couple work together! You sharing your expertise really is encouraging! A former farm wife. Shirley
Another great video Pete and Hillary
Pete you and Hilary make a good team.
My Dad was an electrician, farmer and general fix- whatever-got-broke kind of guy. Many days he had his favorite linesman pliers in his back pocket. When we were making decisions about his tools after he passed, I was happy to claim them.❤
And one of the cows was watching you tell that joke and just shook his head. LOL.
You’re a legend Pete
Dad was an electrician and up here in Haldimand County Ontario we had good old clay. My brothers and I pounded many of those ground rods growing up helping Dad. Thanks for making me sweat just watching you....
I'm so glad you didn't mount the charger crooked.... Thanks... Lol.
One more job mostly complete, looking good, as is the farm in general. You and Hillary have a great day.
Hi Pete and Hillary.
Hillary is such a saint, she never told Pete that she pulled up (by hand) and put back the rods while he was off changing the implement, I've heard that when Chuck Norris needs a hand he calls Hillary.
Dam, did you see Pete do all the work in just 18:14min. He's going to be a general some day, I swear he will. 😂
I really appreciated you adding the proper way of testing the fence. It was very shocking! I so enjoying your videos.
The tractor sounds great... just purring ❤❤❤
Your pliers are called lineman side cutters
My husband, an electrician, would call that tool a side cutter! 💙
You have a dear wife in Hillary and it's nice to see her more. Appreciate and look forward to each visit with you both.
So nice to see you take grounding serious.. so few know the importance.. also with fencing...😀👍
😂😂 boys and the toys “ ha ha yup” 🤣🤣
I couldn't stop laughing when you forgot the fence was on.... Amazing, something we have done ourselves more than a few times. Thank you for your videos.
Pete, you had my wife rolling and laughing. 😂 I use a bugle headed drywall screw with a washer on almost everything. My philosophy is it's only temporary unless it works.
Pays to make shore the fence is off hey Pete , l laughed so much had to watch it 4 times , l had tears in my eyes l laughed so much well done Pete 👏 ✔️
Love watching your videos Pete your editing style and your humor always make for an enjoyable video! Anyways thanks for the video I look forward to the future
It was very entertaining when he was zapped! 😁
It was. For some reason, getting zapped always improves my mood.
Always fantastic to get up and find you in my recommended. Grabbing a cold drink and enjoying now!
Looks like you are on your way to finishing your barn project always nice to see you and your wife working together you guys are my favorite team thanks for sharing pete blessings
The ha ha yep! Celebration ! Satisfaction of winning.
My next door neighbor has a solar powered fencer to keep deer and rabbits out of his gardens works fantastic on them
Pete, of all the channels that I subscribe to and try to watch regularly, your channel is one that I NEVER miss. My wife and I watch as soon as a video comes out. It’s a before bedtime ritual for us. Your channel and Vice Grip Garage with Derek are our consistent top 2. Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your farm life with us.
I really enjoy the Dad jokes.
❤🎉Blessings and Blessings to you and Hillary. Loved the video.
Thank you so very much again.
I jumped and think i could feel it when your fence popped hahaha
Seeing you come out with a bigger tractor reminded me of a guy trying to loosen something by beating it with a hammer. When it still wouldn’t come loose, someone commented “don’t force it, just use a bigger hammer’.
ZAP! That fence is on! Lol
I like what you did with the electric fence. I admire the patience you have when you work on projects like the fence, I wish I could be as calm. Anyways, I enjoyed your video, thanks and have a nice day!
Pete, Hillary, and the kids. You are so lucky to live on a farm. I enjoy real people doing real-life jobs. I am sharing as often as I can.
My Minnesota farmer uncles had strict rules about safety procedures for us children. Most important, ALL the pitchforks were to be accounted for, in their storage area, before we could play in the hayloft. Before we touched any wire fence, we were to test it with a long grass stem. I'm 74 now and I think they were still a bit leary of the electrification. They also ran the electric through the existing barbed wire, instead of the modern smooth wires. My sister was zapped a few times because she would forget to test - then she would blame me for purposely zapping her ! !
I love Hillary being on the show she is great
a remark about daylight saving time, as a young man in the merchant navy the ships clocks were put forward or back about half an hour every day depending on sailing east or west. a pain in the bum. then i joined a company that mainly sailed north south...the difference...we never changed "ship time" no matter where we were or time ashore. ignore daylight saving time you will love it.
Great job Pete and Hilary!!
Always a pleasure to see you, it helps keep me sane.
Now that you have put out a new video I could go to sleep here in the Philippines
HEY PETE...." THE FENCE...WATCH OUT FOR THE FENCE! LOL!!!!🙃🙃
You must be grateful you didn't hit a rock. While in Home Depot one day, I watched a guy loading a cart full of 1/2" ground rods, taking all that were there. Had to tell him the copper is just a plating. He walked away just leaving it, probably to go and steal someone's A/C.
Thanks, Pete and Hillary!
I feel like I learn something very resourceful that I can apply to my own life every time I watch one of Pete's videos. Thanks for the upload, Pete!!
Thank you for the morning laugh. I love the insulated wire and grommer idea.
Hello all from Siesta Key Florida
Just needed a few more ponies to pull ground rod's
Pete you need to rig up a board fence like on Hee Haw for your dad jokes. With a section that Hillary can pull to smack you in the butt
The brightest spark on UA-cam
Educational and interesting. Thanks Pete! My husband always did everything electrical on our farm, so now I understand what made our fences so electrifying.😵💫
I thought for sure Hilarie was gonna get zapped. Not that I wanted her to, I just thought she was. Be nice to Hilarie 🙂
The old saying “if that don’t work get a bigger hammer” but in this case, get a bigger tractor😄
When he got shocked I starting laughing
The fence is on....... 😅😅😅😅... ... Petes, wakeup call😊😊. Nice job. Regards from Jesper, Denmark
Hi Pete!! Great work on a beautiful day. We’re in the middle of finishing our barn. There is no exhausted feel like one that has barn building plus farm chores all day. But it is very satisfying.
I am 61 and one thing I have learned about you Pete (and respect), is that these videos are made for our entertainment, education, and enjoyment. Do you do everything like I used to, no, but that's OK. We can always appreciate and possibly learn different methods. You are a very smart and talented man Pete, and I am humble enough to admit just because something works for me doesn't mean it has to work for you. Keep up the good work! Murfreesboro TN
Thank you Steve. Much respect to you.
I love that you are organizing your farm and cleaning it up. Less bugs too. Your pile is covered. Yay. You and Hillary Make a great couple and team!!❤❤ blessings 🙌
As usual, really enjoyed your video. That was a lot of hard work getting those ground rods in. Hope you weren't sore afterwards as I certainly would be. I also enjoy looking through the comments. There are so many great people!
Excellent dad joke!
The new big barn is BEAUTIFUL!
I like that Pete & Hillary have a successful small farm operation first and a successful UA-cam channel second. The vast majority of homesteading UA-camrs have a successful or somewhat successful UA-cam channel and an unsustainable farming operation.
Almost 400k Yahoooooo
Your jokes show you have been shocked too much.😇
When I was growing up we had a fence charger that was a straight transformer. It was live with no blink to it. I remember once when it tested to be shorted out. I unplugged it and went to find the problem. Unfortunately, my father plugged it in while I was finding the problem. When I went to pick up the wire I got my eyes lit up. I went back to the barn and unplugged it again and took the fence charger with me. Dad met me at the barn after I made the repairs and was hooking the fence back up. That's when he found out that he had plugged it in while I was working on it. It took me a while before I could laugh about it and he was trying not to.
Thanks Pete I enjoy watching you from all the way in Honduras.
Pete, another great video. Here is a thought... why not cut the heavy cattle fence you put up in your last video at the wooden post so you can make a wide gate that would go from the wooden post to the next post. Looks like it would be simpler and allow you to have a wider gate for " just in case" situations.
Enjoy your videos. You have inspired me to have chickens. I have ten.
Dave
I suppose he figured he might need that space for feeding- otherwise a good idea.
.wow life’s has its changes , love ya video s , please don’t stop Pete ,
Yes Pete, I enjoyed this video, even though it was a SHOCKER......Lol
And that folks is the power of diesel over gas 😂😂
Ahhh, you are more Avant garde now.
I love watching you and Hillary interact with each other. You both are adorable. This is has to be one of my top three favorite channels. Thank you for sharing all the hard work you do 🙏🏽💗
Pete, I do NOT want to see Berths mad, easy on the help Sir.
Good morning.
😂😂😂😂 Watch out for the quiet ones. 😜😜😜
Your favourite plier is called a combination plier.
Great electrifying video. Zap! Lol
656 to the rescue.
10:34 I’m not sadistic…I don’t think…but why am I still laughing on the ground?😂
